My grandma is allergic to peanut butter and we went to Costco and there was a free sample of some type that tasted like peanut butter it was sooo good but I have no idea what is was. Who ever knows tell me. It had some black stuff in it
My youngest son has been diagnosed with a nut allergy 6 months ago so we are new to this. So far we’re eating sun butter. My kids have been enjoying sun butter and jelly sandwiches so far. It’s super affordable and it’s at Trader Joe’s.
Thank you for this video. I found out last year that I’m allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, soy and sesame seeds. I think the cookie butter would be my safest option.
@@MOMables Sorry I’m just now replying, but yes I can tolerate those. I bought sunflower seed butter and it was amazing. It smelled and tasted just like regular peanut butter lol. It was so satisfying to eat a “pbj” sandwich again. Thank you for making this video!
I turned 18 and shortly after i randomly became allergic to all nuts and all i do is crave cashews and peanuts i would kill for peanut butter toast. I did wowbutter for a while and at first it was REALLLY similar to peanut butter but the more i ate the more it tasted like soy and it’s not a good butter to keep around for a while despite the expiration date it starts separating from the oils and it’s gross so I’ve been trying to find different butter and I’m definitely going to have to try some of these out
Hey! So after turning 22 I suddenly became allergic to peanuts and cashews. I used wowbutter for a while and I can agree with you on that. Were you able to find one that you enjoyed?
So glad I found this video! I live in an area that farms lots of peanuts so it is super difficult to find alternatives. I was just recently diagnosed with an allergy as an adult
I know I'm late to this video but I have a quick question as I've never eaten anything like this before because of my allergies- do I need to keep the soy butter in the fridge after opening + how long does it last? Great video, thank you for all the information!
Thank you for posting these nut free butters to the mom of 4 with 2 kids that have nut allergies. Sunflower butter is my choice to use and has great health benefits but I will look into and order that granola butter. I love that it doesn't have added sugar.
I started searching for other alternatives when members in my community complained of the rancid taste that sunflower butter gets when left open or if not consumed quick enough. Since we always order on amazon, getting the others have not been a challenge at all :)
I love sunflower butter but I have an on going arguement with someone over whether that should be allowed in a nut free place. Looking for alternatives because I'm tired of arguing. Thanks!
@@melanie0971 I understand this completely. Sunflower butter is a "seed" butter and a lot of kids that have nut allergies also have seed allergies. The only options in this case is soy butter and granola butter.
These are peanut-free alternatives for peanut butter that might work for you. Check the ingredients to be sure there aren't any other allergens for you in each one. :)
I wouldn't say its a struggle but it is hard because my honey is diabetic and has tree nut allegeries so kween butters are completely out because they are made in a tree nut facility and he can't have soy so sun butter and cookie butter are our options but thanks for the video
True and yes hence the sun butter and they have a chocolate one of that too so I am going to grab both when I do our weekly grocery shopping this week thanks for the tips
My son will start school soon & they have a “nut-free” policy. I’ve just started trying alternatives to peanut butter because his go-to lunch is a pb&j. We tried Wowbutter today & he immediately new something was “wrong” with his sandwich. I hope to find one soon that he actually likes. I enjoyed the Wowbutter, but I can definitely tell a difference. It’s more earthy, thicker & less sweet. The roasted flavor definitely stands out. Ugh. Wish us luck!
Thank you for this video I purchased the granola and sesame butter because of you and so far I have tasted the granola butter and never going back. Super delicious!!! Can't wait to try your other recommendations have a great weekend! Xo
@@MOMables thank you! I have a date and she’s allergic to nuts lol We had a funny idea where we both would taste test a peanut butter that don’t have nuts
Thank you soooo much I love your content. Forever it was frustrating to find nut free for my kids school. I always wanted to send them with energy bites.
Thank you so much for this. I have a nut and peanut allergy and I had heard about wowbutter, but I am sensitive to soy as well so it was not the best for me. Will be trying sunbutter and the granola butters for sure!
Yes, peanuts are legumes but the proteins in peanuts are similar in structure to those in tree nuts. For this reason, people who are allergic to peanuts can also be allergic to tree nuts, such as almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pistachios, pecans, and cashews. And when suggestions are made for a "nut-free" alternative, peanuts are in that category.
Cheeto theWicked it depends on the allergy. Some people aré allergic to the protein in nuts and seeds others just nuts others seeds. When a school is requiring a “nut free” environment, they typically require nuts only. Pumpkin and sunflower seed butters are usually ok but it’s best to check.
Laura, I found a nut butter that I really like. I found cashew butter at Aldi. I like it better than peanut butter. I have found it lately at Walmart. A little pricey but to me it is worth it. I enjoy it on a plain toasted bagel with fig preserves. For the past year I have been unable to eat peanut butter because it hurts my stomach. Thank you for a look at what else is available.
I too LOVE cashew butter, Estelle, but unfortunately, it's not nut-free and thus a problem for many people with nut allergies and also have to go nut-free schools.
