What to do in Aruba?! Rent a Jeep and explore the 'Happy Little Island'! We are so happy we rented the Jeep! Not only did it submerge us into the tiny little islands culture, but we got to see other places that we would have never visited, and we were on our own agenda! Top spot that we visited (in my book), Baby Beach. The water was INCREDIBLY clear, similar to the waters in Exuma Bahamas 😜.
We rented the Jeep thru Super Car Rentals (only about 4 or 5 miles from Holiday Inn Resort in Noord). They will pick you up and drop you off (at your resort), which was REALLY helpful! We called vs emailing....but did get charged an 'International' fee (beware).

we took this one because it was reef safe & it doesn't give you that metal/burning feeling after you put it on! And its cheaper to buy in the States vs Aruba! That sun is seriously no joke!!
2. QUARTERS ..sounds like an odd one, but there are 2 places they will come in handy...1st place, the grocery store ( Superfoods), you will need it for the cart ( don't worry, you get it back once you return the cart), 2nd place, if you go to see the Flamingos, you will need quarters for the food to feed them.
3. TWO PAIRS OF SUNGLASSES... not sure if its just a me thing, but somehow, something ALWAYS happens to my ONE pair of sunglasses that I bring...and then I end up paying DOUBLE the price for a pair of cheap sunglasses that I don't even like....tell me Im not the only one lol.

Aruba has that seriously beautiful water oh and your not reusing a mask a ton of other people have used! We love this one, it adjust great from my small head to our sons big head lol
6. A HAT so glad we all brought one.....our heads & eyes were Happy!
7. A WATERBOTTLE this one thing probably saved us at least $50 by taking this! EVERYTHING is imported to Aruba, and the bottled water (if your out and about) will cost you $3 to $5 a bottle! The best part, Aruba has SAFE drinking water! So make sure to fill up!

we took our GoPro and were so excited we did, especially if you go snorkeling.

it is SUPER windy in Aruba & there is nothing more annoying than fixing your towel every 2 seconds because the wind is always blowing & it hates towels 😜 oh and, yes, I had to buy the Flamingo clips!

these things are seriously the BEST invention for your phone (and its a great alternative to buying an expensive waterproof camera). We bought these because we didn't want to buy those super spendy otterbox phone cases (call me cheap), and they work SO SO good!

48 hours i'll be there with wife and two daughters. very very happy thanks. not renting dunes buggies i love toys but i can ride my dirt bike in massachusetts.......jeep it is for aruba way better u guys are awesome

Awesome! So glad y'all like then! Make sure when you rent the jeep, to grab a map of the island, it was definitely helpful!! We cheated a little with the GPS with ATT, but I'm pretty sure you can download a map (without using data) with Mapme. When is your trip to Aruba?

Did you guys have trouble using gps on your phone? I planned to get a international day pass for my unlimited plan with att. Wasn’t sure if you had any trouble.

Actually, we downloaded the offline maps and used that. We were able to see roads and business names from the offline maps while in airplane mode. Ill warn you, we have att & they told us we had the international plan for an additional $10 for one phone (which is all we wanted) & our bill was an additional $250 🤯 We got it resolved, but kust double triple check with your carrier. If you have an inlocked phone, you can also buy a sim card in aruba and connect to there network too. Hope that helps! When are you visiting Aruba? Yes, I do believe so. The island is pretty small, & because of that, they are pretty happy with meeting you basically anywhere on the island 🙌

The Tourist have destroyed our Island that is one thing for sure. And many Arubans to complain about it. When I left Aruba in 1978, the years before Aruba was a Happy Island with Hardly and Hotels and tourist. But it's not a Happy Island at all now.

Just booked Hyatt regency for our 10yr anniversary. Is this the best place to rent the Jeep?I was debating on this vs doing with a tour group

When we rented, we actually called around to multiple locations...they were the cheapest. Seems like most places wanted close to 150 to 175 for a rental, but they were 125. They picked us up and dropped us off so we didnt have to worry about getting to our Jeep (im pretty sure most rental companies do this because the island is pretty small). And yes, I would definitely steer towards renting on our own and not go on a group tour...we loved the fact that we weren't on a time schedule, could go and do things we wanted and were able to explore other parts of the island that normally wouldn't be done on a group trip. But the one tging about the group trip, you will get more info on the locations because of the locals knowledge... but we found ourselves figuring stuff out as we went. When you rent, they will give you a map of hotspots, which was awesome! So its kind of what you want, we aren't big fans of being shuttled around on someone else's schedule, so we created our own 🙂

@@AdventureEncounters yea I could give a damn about any "insider local knowledge" and would rather navigate myself anyways. I've done enough research after booking to know where to visit, eat and where not to go. My wife wants to eat at the Flying Fishbone for our anniversary dinner so as the date approaches I'm gonna try to make that happen. Anything else I need to know just shoot!

@@Thefastlane425 lol, we like your style! We are the same... just give us the keys and we are gone! Sounds like you guys are set! If y'all can think of anything, just shoot us a message! One thing that I ALWAYS tell visitors to Aruba..if you plan on having any alcohol, buy it at the airport at the duty free (WAY CHEAPER than anything you buy outside the airport)... also, take a few refillable water bottles, prices on beverages are triple :/ There water is safe to drink (they have a massive water facility located on the island), so fill thise bottles up to save some $$, and cake on the spf! We live in Florida and got fried the first day, and we are in the sun ALL THE TIME lol. Hope that helps a little bit!

Yes sadly...BUT we found out after the fact (of course), if you buy something at the restaurant, they will give you a 'ticket' to use the bathroom for free lol.

It's so sad to see how commercialized this beautiful island has become. I'm not sure the price of progress is worth the cost, imagine what this place will look like in another 20-30 years. 😪

@@AdventureEncounters Thank you, we'll be there in 4 days, we're super excited ! The day we rent the Jeep we plan to go early and snorkel at Tres Trapi, and swing up to Arashi to snorkel a bit more. While up north hit the lighthouse and Chapel, and then to town for lunch. From there take in some of the sites on the east coast, and through Arikok national park. Finish the day with a short stay at Baby beach, up to Mangel Halto beach for a few sunset photos, and back to our home at the Manchebo for dinner and cocktails. I expect it to be a very busy and draining day, but well worth it, we plan on doing nothing but relaxing under a Palapa the following day to recoup.
