Good video...would be very interested in your take of the "toughening" of grading standards from PSA current vice past grade results (vintage cards primarily), particularly if you recently had a conversation as you mentioned with the PSA head grader. I will see you guys in Chicago for the National and I hope you have the organized and very wide selection of vintage this year like last year in Atlantic City.
Thanks for watching! This is joe! Yes we plan on a huge vintage selection again at this year's national as well as a great selection of PSA, SGC, etc. I get your point about the standards. We hear it all the time, but even so, there is alot of variance invoice to invoice. I think PSA does their best to maintain a consistent standard, but I do believe the industry as a whole has gotten "tougher" over the years, especially on vintage.
Joe has appeared on Sports Card Investor many times as well as Retro Hoops and others. He was also in the "Behind the Card" movie and has appeared on national TV commercials on behalf of ebay promoting the hobby of sports card collecting.
I believe their response would be that they still spent the same amount of time to examine and database the card even though it failed to pass. PSA does not charge on min size and no holders but they do on trimmed, altered, and of course counterfeits.
