It was the first one in the series that really had that AAA polish. Very minimal amounts of glitches, good port for all platforms, forgiving requirements on PC, overall a pretty big improvement in graphics compared to the first two, and all this probably drew in more new players. Like me.

@@seacooklmao the only good one? I would argue that dark souls 1 is the best one since its the only one with a coherent actually interconnected world and not just linear paths ending in dead ends. Also the first one has a armour system that actually works with stats like poise, where as the 3rd one armor doesn t do much at all. In one I can build a mountain type character that just hardtanks every hit and kills the enemy. Try that in 3 gl. 3rd one might be the best looking one but that doesn t make it the "only good one. Very weird take.

Numbers are either inaccurate or outdated. Bloodborne sold 7.5 million according to recent Playstation leaks. AC6 sold at least 2.8 million but isn't featured here.

More like Sekiro 2. At least BB got a DLC😢. But BB 2 would also be cool as long as they reduced blood vials to 10 and also made them respawn at a lamp. I hated farming for them in the early game and in the endgame, they were just too overpowered. Bloodborne was a masterpiece that unfortunately had too many inconveniences. Sekiros difficulty never felt artificial though.

There's just a lot of things about DS1 and DS2 that make them feel slow and clunky compared to the newer titles. You can't be telling me that moonlight butterfly, Capra demon and bed of chaos are good and fun boss designs

I was interested as well so I googled it and it seems the sales for ds2 are a bit inconsistent depending on who you ask. It seems 2.5 million is a figure given for both combined shortly after scholar released in 2015. However depending on who you believe it may have been a bit lower. That number also obviously does not include whatever it may have sold in the last 8.5 years.

This makes me so happy to see them absolutely knock one out of the park. With a much bigger fan base they can afford to tackle even more ambitious projects. As long as they keep going by Miyazaki’s direction I have faith that they will keep pumping out awesome, original games. Bloodbourne is just a particular taste. Its not overated. It's just perfect for people who like that particular style of game. Same with sekiro. Elden Ring allows players who love heavy dark eldritch horror, and weebing samurai katana and medieval knights and spells and more in one game. Elden Ring attracted people from every genre and threw in the dark souls format with a beautiful open world that is both hauntingly dying and alive at the same time.

My first ever From Software game was Dark Souls from my brother and I only like played half of it, turned it off and realized it wasn't my type of game. Found out about Armored Core and here I go quickboosting throughout the games, becoming a Raven and a Lynx, and becoming the Nine Breaker multiple times. Armored Core is now special to me.

FromSoft has a lot of good games besides the soulsborne games. It's kind of unfortunate that it gets overshadowed like that.

I found out today that fromsoft made Armor core. So I’ve inadvertently been enjoying their games since the ps1 demo disc in 97 crazy.

You know... when you think about it... 20 million people have played Elden Ring, and that is a fraction of the planet population. It's one of the greatest games of all time and it's like only the population of Australia has played it.

Newer games (if they're decent enough of course) always outsold older games of the same series, because of the bigger player base acquired during the years and, of course, much more money invested in ad campaings. And also generally more people interested in gaming.

I'm so glad these folks that have been consistently making the best games on the market are finally getting the money and recognition they deserve. It's a little bittersweet, though, because it's no longer my unknown favorite developer. I hope they continue on their journey of making great things and don't turn out like the rest of the Triple A companies and get too big for their own good

Bloodborne and DS3 made the combat more fluent and boss music changing while is getting stronger, and Elden ring is Chad Skyrim

First time I have seen someone do one of these charts the right way See people do ones for movie's gross numbers and you actually see the numbers go down and randomly explode years after they were released and such, I figure maybe inflation adjusted, but it still makes for a confusing chart when done wrong, this one was perfect

Future games were great, make no mistake, but gaming has also become way more mainstream. A lot of games sell more nowadays just from a wider audience as well
