I used to work for Kroger in the early 80's. They were union and the pay was good. Raises were based on hours worked not merit. I was shocked. The workday was 8 hours and if you worked over 8 hours you were paid time and a half. You received time and a half for Sunday's. You received 8 holidays at 3 times the pay if you worked and double pay if you were off. Then they decided to cut our pay If cried because my pay was cut by over $3 per hour. I eventually quit. Corporate greed ....
@hard life, I was just a kid when Kennedy was in office. He made a lifelong impression on me. He was a true hero in the service, and a remarkably strong, fair president. I was devastated when he was shot. There is an expression that goes "I worked with Jack Kennedy, and Sir, you are NO Jack Kennedy". A worthy comparison of all who followed.

Kroger in Dallas doesn't have to worry about anyone walking off the job because no one works there, at least in my hood, maybe 2-6 employees per shift for an entire store. You literally could go in and pack your cart and roll it out without checking out and no one would notice.

Hospitals are being significantly reimbursed for taking care of COVID patients regardless of insurance status/ and ability to pay. Nurses and doctors are expected to work longer shifts without normal breaks or even additional breaks WITHOUT additional compensation. Why would they not quit these jobs? They are human, have families, get burned out, and have significant financial obligations like everyone else. The healthcare demands during a during a pandemic pose unique challenges and employed healthcare workers are being exploited by malignant and greedy employers ie. hospitals.
@@mrjackson2067 I think it is very sad that both husband and wife have to work especially for a young family. I was raised by a stay-at-home mother of 5 children back in the 50's. Such an absolute blessing. If she wants, a mother should be able to raise and enjoy her children.
The food industry could fix this supply-chain situation by creating or beefing-up their delivery services. Delivering groceries much like Schwarm’s. I believe Safeway has a home delivery it could enhance. Reduce the # of brick & mortar stores & operate out of food distribution centers instead-like Amazon does. These are times that require creativity. These are the times when millionaires are made!

Economies also boom under Dems and wane under Republicans. The Obama-led economy was in its 91st month of expansion when Trump inherited it and then took credit for it. Our economy is actually booming now, by all accounts. Inflation is happening around the entire world, not just here. Europe is fighting record inflation. Biden's fault? Hardly. The economists are clear: inflation is happening because of Covid-borne supply chain issues.
idk..i'm a delivery driver and some store owners are telling me no one's even applying for jobs anymore. i use to be a cashier last year but i quit because wage was too low. i'll never go back to grocery if i lose this job

You don't really believe all this bad stuff evolved in the last 12 months, do you? The Democrats may have whacky ideas but at least they are trying to provide for the people and not just corporations.

Switch from fossil fuels to electric vehicles and immediately eliminate the cost of gasoline forever. Much lower repairs and maintenance costs also. Safer, quieter, and cheaper overall.

Seems Charlotte did not watch the Chris Wallace moderated debate. If she did, it cannot be denied that Trump acted in his usual bulling manner, talking over Wallace and Biden constantly to hog all the air time to himself. Wallace did his best to be be respectful while trying to maintain control. The big upset occurred when Trump was asked if he supported white supremacists. He hemmed and hawed and challenged Wallace to name a supremacist group. Biden, who reads his security reports, offered the name Proud Boys. That's when Trump made the famous statement "Stand back and stand by", basically admitting his support of this group. If the debate was not televised, the public would not have seen the exchange and exposed Trump's real position as a racist. As Sargent Friday says "Just the facts, ma'm"!
