It is a hospital policy that transplant candidates have to complete all their pre-transplant requirements, including getting a cov-id vaccine. The heart candidate was aware of that requirement when he became eligible for an available heart. You are told, as well as sign a consent form, that states if you do not complete all the pre-transplant requirements, the transplant will not occur. I know this to be TRUE as I had to go through the process to get my transplant last year. This aired segment is not transparent about the truth of the situation, instead it is trying to blame the hospital instead of the patient's unwillingness to take responsibility for the predicament of his own making. Do better and be truthful NBC!

This is not about vaccine freedom. When a transplant unvaxxed patient or donor goes to a hospital, he is exposed to many risks. It's not for the patient, but also for all the hospital workers he will encounter inside. If he tests positive for covid, then dies, the hospital won't want to be legally responsible to what may happen to him while under their care.

Its not unconstitutional get out of your emotions for a moment and be honest about it...its ignorant and foolish to deny yourself a longer life over a vacation when vacations have been apart of a societal norm for many years before covid. Rules and procedures are in place to protect patients and staff. The constitution has nothing to do with it stop supporting lies and using "the constitution" as a scapegoat for flawed intellect or reasoning.

Ambulance rides are expensive. If it’s not you’re gonna die if you don’t get there, people stop calling 911. These folks calling because they can’t sleep? And folks calling several times a day after they’ve been educated and it’s not life threatening? Come on. These people are holding up ambulances that should be going to a critical accident, someone having a stroke, someone having a heart attack, someone who’s stopped breathing, someone in active labor with no one to drive her to the hospital. People need to do better.
