I dress maximalist completely from the thrift shop. You don't need a big budget if you want to try it. Just like other aesthetics, choose the pieces that really speak to you. It doesn't mean you need a giant wardrobe, I just enjoy bold pieces. I think there is a difference between maximalist dressing style and maximalist wardrobe

I think being a maximalist doesn't necessarily mean having a lot of clothes or expensive clothes. You can use the classic pieces you already own to layer and create a maximlist look, or thrift one dress, t-shirt or button down with a maximalist print to build your outfit around for not a lot of money. I'm trying to be less of a maximalist right now because I work in a professional environment, and I found that the minimalist style is more of a burden financially, because good basics and classic pieces are expensive and I rarely find those at the thrift store.

I think the thing with maximalism is that it can be expensive but it really doesn’t have to be. When I dressed maximalist I was often just using what I had in an unexpected way, I remember making earrings out of bread tags 🤣 You can totally embrace the clashing contrasting colours but I find it easier to work with when I have a consistent colour palette (like seasonal analysis type colour palette not just 4 colours if that makes sense). It’s a good way to avoid ending up with a mountain of clothes that you can’t match together. Also things can be visually more maximalist just through prints, you don’t necessarily have to collect so many different items to layer. But changing aesthetic is almost always a costly process that uses resources!! When I began dressing more minimal because of work that was expensive for me

I love your tangents! They feel very natural and logical and genuine to me (probably because I do the same thing 😂). I am all about the maximalist jewelry! Excited to pile it on.

I found this video very interesting as a woman who’s followed fashion all my life. Do more of these. It is educational and relevant. I was only out of high school about 10 years when I noticed trends coming back around. Fortunately, I kept my faves and truly never gave up on some of them.

Maximalism - made me think of Cressida Cowper from Bridgerton Season 3 and those giant sleeves!! The entire show is maximalist!! She is the OG

My personal style is, and for 50 years has been, quiet, classic and elegant. I’m not changing it to maximalism, big, bold, etc. I love many trends because it usually means I can get some styles, colors, etc. from the past that I love, but I won’t be wearing any clown clothes, however trendy. There really is nothing new under the sun, styling since the 1960s, I’ve seen every style from ones I hate to ones I adore I hate loud prints, embellishments and frou-frou, girlish details anyway. It’s so hard to find a single dress this summer without tiers and puffed shoulders, for example. I’m a mature woman, I want more sophisticated styles! Thanks for your video🙂

Jewellery - I'm 58 and I've been wearing more subtle jewellery for a while: thinner chains, shorter ones, a single charm per chain instead of multiples. I used to love my long vintage silver chain with charms and I still have it but I have removed some of the charms. I don't wear matching sets: chains, bracelets, rings, less is more at my age and I don't want to look like a Christmas tree. What I did with the spare silver/gold charms was to create bag charms (just buy various size key rings from Amazon) and brooches using simple safety pins, they look quite cool and I can pin them on tote bags, sweaters, wherever they look good. So I wear less on my body but I still enjoy my collection. I have also added chunky chains (not real silver obviously but white/pewter colour chains) to my bags for a rock chic look. I very rarely wear fashion jewellery. I really don't like the super-shiny chunky earrings/pendants that are so trendy at the moment, they look too ladylike and heavy imo, not at all fresh or young.

I suscribed for more on the fly videos! I wasn't expecting this, but the fact that I didn't notice your eye twitching AT ALL, made me feel a lot more comfortable about my own eye twitching. So, it turned out to be unexpectedly empowering :)

You have totally influenced me from past videos. I am sooo on the hunt for vintage Chloe and Halston. Also, if one knows what looks good on them, has patience and is willing to search, affordable classics can be had ❤❤❤

Love this video. I'm a reseller, so it helps so much to know the trends. I lived through all those decades, and I appreciate each one's aesthetic.

I can express my style and personality through simple clothes too, you can always personalise an outfit and make it really yours. Eccentric, overly colourful, maximalist style can be the opposite of original, it looks a little sad to me, as if the wearer was trying to hide something or desperately look for a meaningful style. Mostly they end up looking like attention-seekers, even clownish. Very eccentric, overly decorated fashionistas often hide deep problems, addiction, shame about their sexuality, etc., at least that's been my experience and I don't mean to offend anyone. But I'll always prefer modern simple chic.

Her brand is called Trinny London, it’s an easy mistake to make.

I love your black top/dress, you look very chic and feminine. The Adam Sandler's look, baggy athleisure, sportswear worn in the streets, I hate it, I suspect it suits so many people because being overweight/obese has become so common. It's spreading to the UK too, and I hope there will be a backlash soon but highly unlikely as most people are overweight and they just want to be comfortable. It's not a good look imo.
