One thing you missed with link. In soul calibur 2, there was a weapon system where you could unlock different weapons for each character. Many of link's most famous swords were represented along with the shields. Master, razor, helix, etc

Cloud for the Smash entry works even more as a special guest because Nintendo (as of this video) has never had FFVII on their system where as we got Twin Snakes back in 2004. Cheers if you are watching this video in 2019

I loved that Link was in Soul Calibur because he had the Master, sword of evil's bane. A good substitute for Soul Calibur against Soul Edge or could atleast hold back its influence.

Since Nintendo has promoted Fire Emblem as one of their tent pole franchises, maybe in the next Soulcalibur game Bandai Namco could have a Nintendo exclusive character from FE.

I had also never heard Soul Caliber/Blade/Edge until 2 was announced, and I actually chose the gamecube version to get as a kid specifically because Link was in it lol

I still don't see why Cloud is in Smash Bros. Every other character has had a game they were in on a Nintendo console. Megaman, Sonic, Pac-Man, Ryu, and even Bayonata and Snake have had games on Nintendo systems (Snake even had games on the NES. Thier not canon, but still). The only game that Cloud was in before this (to my knowledge) was Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, where he had a bit part and a playing card. I get why he's here (new remake coming up and Final Fantasy was once Nintendo owned) but I don't get WHY he's here. Why not have Firion or Terra or someone who was on a Nintnedo system like the GBA or DS.

I'm a server split between Link and Spawn in Soul Calibur. But I'm upset that Nintendo didn't let Link in Soul Calibur 2 HD online.

I feel Ezio in Soul Calibur V was more fitting than Link. Link fit as well but Ezio blended perfectly with the characters and settings to the point that someone unfamiliar with Assassin's Creed could mistake him for just another Soul Calibur character.

Lars Alexandersson in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 :D He appear in the game in his alternate costume from Tekken 6 that was created by Masashi Kishimoto himself. So, it fits as well. Not to mention, he was the protagonist in Tekken 6. Man, he was so f*cking badass in the game. People love him, that he was always modded to the newer game

Rash fits perfectly. Rash may be a frog but he's one badass brawler that'll make his foes crumble to pieces with his iron fist. I wish and hope that he makes it to SSB games.

And now Soul Calibur hosted Geralt of Rivia who probably fit the most (tho even at the time, Kratos was a ting in Soul Calibur games and having his magical giant and canonically powerful blade, two other magical swords with chains thanks to the blades of chaos, magical powers and abilities and the greek influence like Sophitia I’d say he fit the most in a Soul calibur game)

I agree with #1 because at the time I had a ps2 but when SC2 came out I knew ps2 sucked only having Hihachi when GC had link. I bought the gamecube for that game. Lucky it had a better version of RE4 and Twilight Princess was awesome.

The Link you showed while you were talking about different console versions of Soul Calibur 2 was from Twilight Princess, and therefore didn't exist when the game was made.

What I really wish to happen is for Aoi Umenokouji to be in DOA5 Last Round (hopefully the last gen versions, to fill in the missing spot that Mai Shiranui didn't appear in the last gen versions).

I have Rival Schools! I would use Sakura all the time. The physics are similar to the Marvel games. Sakura can do both normal and anti air fireballs. The simple team move has Sakura coming in and doing her Shun Goku Satsu! The game's 2nd disc has 2 different anime endings and one of them does have a scene in the green room and Sakura has a strange look on her face as her in game costars begin fighting like they're real amateur at being in a gamr.

Rick Grimes (Splatterhouse) would and should fit perfectly as a guest character in the Mortal Kombat, and maybe even the Soul Calibur Universe(s).

Aaahhh Link. He definitely MADE the SC franchise with his inclusion in II. I'll be honest, though. Of the three SCII guests, Spawn was my favorite (even though they were both BROKEN). As others have said, Ezio in V should've edged out Link as the better guest. He fit in PERFECTLY. Also...we can't have more than one character per franchise on the list...but we can have the same character 3 times? (Cyber-Akuma was only mentioned, but still). I think maybe the Akuma appearances should've all tied in one spot. All that aside, this was a great list and I'm really enjoying the channel. I would love to see a list of guest appearances gamers wish would happen, as well as maybe a best guest character appearances in all of gaming list.

Thank goodness I STILL have Soul Calibur 2 for GameCube!

Link in soul calibur 2 felt the most right as far as guest characters in a fighting game. When it comes to "weapon based fighting", link defines "weapons" better than almost any other character. Sword, bow and arrow, shield, bombs, boomerang, perfect fit for soul calibur

I knew about and played Soul Blade and Soul Caliber before Link in SC2 (Still own Soul Caliber on Dreamcast). Actually played SC2 on PS2 way before I took on the Game Cubes unpredictable step above sales against it's counterparts. I've always been curious as to who actually played as Spawn on the X....

Why does everyone keep forgetting that Injustice Gods Among Us was a carry over from Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe? "It just fit"... they were literally JUST in a game together a year earlier... I wouldn't be surprised if the entire MK roster is still buried in the Injustice game data somewhere.

Akuma in Tekken 7 is perfect, seeing how his Raging Demon powers fit perfectly into Tekken's magic based attack roster, and him being Japanese and a martial artist didn't reduce any advantages of adding him. And the Satsui No Hado is a really good rage art.

Sweet Tooth was in PlayStation All Stars Battle Royal, I dunno if that's considered a Guess Star, but that is deffinately a weird one, oO

It could be that game cube was a new take on a console, And although it's discontinued it's one of the greatest consoles of time, And it had game boy iteration.

Tekken and Street Fighter should just BE a single franchise. Seriously, they're awesome by themselves, but put them together and you've got something that could dominate the fighting genre.

As a Spawn fan and as a Tekken fan, I agree that Link is the better fitting character for sure. With Heihachi, okay I do think he fits in the sense that, we already have Yoshimitsu hanging out in both Tekke. and Soul Calibur. It's a different incarnation of Yoshimitsu, granted but he's generally a similar kind of character in both franchises so to have another Tekken character show up as a guest in Soul Calibur makes sense to me to an extent. Yoshimitsu is more believeable than Heihachi sinply cause of the era Soul Calibur seems to takes place in whereas Heihachi is from a more modern era. But I love Heihachi in Soul Calibur 2 because to me it is the most badass thing to have a dude walk into a fighting game full of characters using swords, axes, knives and stuff, with just his bare hands and Heihachi I think is just badass enough to pull that off. Fun fact for the unaware, in the anime Tekken movie from way back in the day, Heihachi could break the blade of an axe with his teeth, that says quite a lot, I'd say. As for Spawn, okay the era isn't too big of an issue, Spawn has had time travel nonsense happen to him before, in fact there are Spawns established in different eras of that universe but my issue with Spawn in Soul Calibur is actually something similar to what you were talking about in your list of weirdest guest characters in fightig games regarding the Spartan in DOA. The Spartan is in a setting where she can't use any of the major Halo weapons that made Halo's gameplay. No assault rifles, no plasma swords, none of that. Same deal with Spawn, all he's using is an axe when he has a cape that can turn into just about anything, he has chains that he culd use as weapons and he does use guns. Unfortunately, Soul Calibur isn't exactly the best setting for that sort of thing, if Spawn had any of that in SC2 he'd be boarderline boss character status just because of the way Soul Calibur as a whole is designed.
