The league has never seen someone like him. A HUGE elusive back. Anyone else like him would lower their shoulder and go up the gut. Blount was soo agile.
He still threw the shoulder too tho thats why i liked watching him. Like an adrian peterson who could run someone over but also juke 4 dudes otw to the endzone except blount was a 250lb monster
He was super underrated a awesome player to watch he killed the colts, and was sad to see him go to the eagles and beat us it’s all good tho good player💯
It's all about the scheme and blocking doing their job, The Bucs we're more of a run team. On NE he had Brady; you can't stack the box against Brady, New England has too many plays to defend against. You never know what you will get at a given time, especially in the clutch.
LeGarrette Blount definitely outperformed many expectations placed upon him and showed athletic abilities beyond his combine numbers and incredible for a man of his size. He definitely had great seasons but he was never consistent with his production and much of his career highlights center around a few specific huge games of marvelous production. But he stepped up greatly when it mattered the most; and additionally was limited by playing largely for teams with poor run blocking abilities or ones where running the ball was de-emphasized. The Patriots had de-emphasized their running game due to their system having multiple capable receivers, strong screen & short passing game, and their management & coaches choosing to emphasize offensive linemen blocking for passes. Much of the N.F.L. had transitioned into a passing league during this time as well and he was one of the last bruising hard runningbacks as a new era dawned upon the N.F.L.
He was injured a good amount and was in between contracts while having other running backs in the roster, I wouldn’t blame him for the inconsistency. He usually singed 1-2 yr contracts and the teams would already have their star running back so he was mostly a 2nd string. But anytime he was given a chnace he made th most of it. He had a 24 rushing TD one season. When he was on the pat we used a 3 running back scheme so it was harder for him to put I’m up crazy stats. Despite that he still ended up leading the league in TD. The plays that don’t get recognized are the clutch 1st downs even if they are k my for 2 yards
Edd Holman way better runner than mike def not a blocker tho....id say their about even ....but as a runner blount all day.....them in the same backfield would be a dream
Dude I'd like to see you bring down a 250 lbs wrecking ball with a full head of steam. You can't play so don't criticize. You wouldn't like it if some one came to your job and started criticizing you how on you flip burgers. "Bad flipping! You didn't put enough salt on the fries you bum!"
