@@Swtorista i mean, there's not a word about prices in the video, so it's all good. Also wanted to thank you for the effort you put into your channel, love your vids!
It's kinda funny that we fans can talk about the meaning of the saber for days, while the reason of the green color is because it contrasted the blue background better.
CrazyDolphin wrong actually. That’s what Samuel L Jackson told George, but in reality it was because he wanted to be able to find himself more clearly in the Battle of Geonosis
This is one of the many things I love about SWTOR. The customization of saber crystals is just something I've always wanted in Star Wars games. I mean, you get to do it in Jedi Academy, The Force Unleashed, the KOTOR games and even Jedi: Fallen Order but none of them are nearly as customizable as SWTOR's.
@Omar Beydoun It's not, though. I would prefer if they had more than just combat as a means of getting through quests but there's only so much you can do with an MMORPG's questing system. The story, the graphics/art style and the gameplay of SWTOR are fantastic. The game's only real flaw is its business model, which is far too restrictive to be properly competitive with other F2P MMOs.
@@liandre9035 In terms of gameplay, perhaps, but not in terms of business model. I may not be a fan of subscription-based MMOs but at least with WoW, you essentially get EVERYTHING with your subscription, excluding the fact that you have to buy the expansions separately.
@@jakobfel2 free to play on swtor you got atleast 4 full class storys while on World of warcraft you can only level until you reached 20, which let my chin drop cause people say its a free to play game, but its not XD swtor is and that for less restrictet. Also better graphics but in terms of buisness model like restricting even chat posting time and such things wow might be better, i dont know, couldnt really try it by only be able to lvl up and do story until 20.
@@liandre9035 Well, if we're being honest, the "free" option of WoW isn't really a fair comparison to SWTOR's free option, as it's more of a demo of the game than SWTOR's free option. SWTOR is an actual free-to-play MMO while WoW is technically a pay-to-play MMO with a free demo.
Vokk from the Esseles flashpoint, I'm guessing? He seems to drop Dark Side restricted lightsabers pretty often in my experience. Too bad my Jedi Consular was going Light Side.
Just got one during a mission on Taris, earlier today 07/16/20. Ironically, my Jedi Shadow is attuned to the dark side, so it fits perfectly with the tier 1 yellow eyes.
It's a really cool concept considering that even if it was just a cosmetic in the game, you can categorize player by these lightsaber crystals they posses. You can differentiate a beginner or just simplistic, a rare hunter, an artisan, a pvp ranker and a pvp high ranker. In starwars lore though, instead of having a variety of colors with thier lighsaber. A jedi can be distinguished based on thier hilt designs. Like how mace windu decided to melt his medal to be embedded in his lightsaber.
Back in patch 1.2 you could buy white color crystals for 2,5 million credits from a special vendor for a limited time, it was located at the the imperial and republic fleet, you could also buy purple and cyan crystals for a cheaper price
I personally love the inclusion of the Pink-Red Crystal in this game. It’s a red saber color that much more resembles the deep red color Vader’s saber has on it in the Original Trilogy. Kylo Ren seems to also wield a similar shade of red, though a lot of promotional stuff have the color as more of a blood red or standard red saber. But I really love that pink red. Such a deep color.
So different then when the game launched. Me and my guild spent hours upon hours farming special crystal colours. including the black and blue, black and red, and the elusive white colour crystal, and i still got the orange and black pre order crystal. But its different now, theres not much fulfillment buying crystals off the GTN
Well, I remember getting a Black Green crystal as a random drop during an Op, so that was fulfilling. But that was ages ago, they could've changed it. EDIT: Nevermind, just finished watching the video, guess I didn't get my crystal from an Op but from the Rakghoul event thingy. Didn't remember ever finishing it but oh well.
The ones I like the most are the Rakghoul event crystal and the fire orange crystal. A lightsaber may be "An elegant weapon... for a more civilized age." But there is just something primal and wild about those colors.
3:51 - Yes, I remember this. I think it was much sooner than a year after launch -- a player named Catch, who I believe was a Sith Assassin, had a double-bladed white lightsaber and was parading it around the imperial fleet. Like you said, he got banned and the devs mentioned it was an exploit and not something players would normally stumble across. But that's pretty vague, and since I enjoy finding exploits in games, I was worried I'd accidentally perform this. They said it's something you can't stumble across by accident, but maybe you could consider all exploits as "intentional". This uncertainty is what caused me to seek out the truth of what happened. The devs never explained the full story, like you said. However, the rest of the story actually did make its way around. This "exploit" wasn't a mere in-game glitch. Nope, what this guy did was more of a psy-op than anything else. He knew the white crystal existed in the game, maybe because of datamined information or maybe because he was part of beta, I don't remember. In any case, he complained to customer support that he had accidentally deleted his white crystal, so they returned it to him. Of course, the 'catch' (pun intended) is that he never had it to begin with.
Love the video! I found a whole new love for some of the more "boring" or "weird" crystals (yellow/pink yellow/blue) when I started sticking them into some of the more unique sabers. Personally love a blue/yellow crystal in Tau's lightsaber.
@@Swtorista Omg you replied! Yes, I love it, love the longer form blade too. it really adds to the single-bladed duelist look I like giving to my knights.
I remember this one mission about the padawan lovers in Tython, if you decided to help them by not snitching on with the Jedi master that gave you the mission you got a yellow lightsaber with a smaller chance of the quest dropping an orange or an alternate yellow which I think was yellow with orange, white center. I think I had my DPS knight armed with one of his Sabers in that color, the other one being purple.
was gonna comment about the _other_ kind of green-black lightsaber, but looks like you were already prepared for that comment. you win this round, swtorista
Once again, the force takes you into its confidence, imparts its secrets with you so that you may spread the knowledge of what you have learned. A truly powerful connection to the force that benefits us all. The force moves around you in mysterious ways yet not concerning. More often than not, after hearing the information you've shared, I must admit to a need to visit with all of the Jedi in our guild. Masters, Knights, Padawans and Initiates. As I will do again. May the force ever guide you. (bows head)
@@Kronosxviii1 Not sure if it's the current canon, but at one point it was canon that the only way to get a red crystal, was to take a blue or green one, and corrupt it with pain and hate. In one of the comics Vader (after killing a Jedi and taking his lightsaber) took a crystal to a dark side cave on mustafar, where he then poured his hate and pain into the crystal to corrupt it (there was also a hallucination where he turned to the light side and killed Sheev, but that's not related). I believe to get a white crystal you basically need to undo the corruption, probably by filling it with light side energy, but that won't give back the original colour, but instead will make it white. The white crystal part is just what I remember hearing, so take that with a grain of salt
lemme introduce you to the Star Wars EU lore, red can be either synthetic or corrupted crystal(any color of crystal that were subdued to the will of a dark jedi by using the dark side to crush the crystal's will) and white is actually the reverse thing. It CAN be created by infusing a once corrupted crystal with light side, kinda like reviving it and purging the dark side from the crystal, which will take the silver/white color if the purge is succesful. Ahsoka Tano likely got her silver blade by this mean
The Swashbuckler's Black Blue Striated crystal, my older Brother parted with WoW to begin SW:ToR when it released, he earned it with his Sith and his Jedi, he still treasure these above all!
I really wanna get the game so I can grind for the black core lightsaber with the silver energy and get myself a cross guard lightsaber so I can be the Mandalorian Sith Lord I’ve always wanted to be.
i always feel a sense of pride when i see my black-yellow crystal, or as i like to call it, the "Pre-order crystal". i don't even know why i feel that pride, i rarely use that crystal.
My favorite crystals to use are the movie accurate crystals (Farmhand Blue, Desert Green, and Imperial Red(?)) Viridian, Silver-Cyan, and Black-Red striated (especially for unstable sabers.)
@@Swtorista On a second look, maybe they're not crafted. I looked them up on the GTN and saw 3 on my server, a few million credits each, but they didn't have the "Crafted by ___" tag on them. So idk where the people selling them got them.
I picked up a cool crystal color today thanks a kind fellow, I got a Cyan Blue War Hero Crystal, it’s pretty awesome and looks amazing, even with my upgraded knights saber.
My goal in the game is not to master pvp, not to finish stories... but to collect all the side stuff like toys and pets and mounts and most importantly, color crystals. So ye, I enjoyed this vid very much
I didn't see one that looks like mine. I'll have to send you a screen shot. I've had it for years and move it to a new light saber each time. It was a gift from someone in the first guild I was ever in on my Jedi consular. She is 100% light side but the crystal in her saber has a black core and dark purple aura. I love the crystal color and will continue to use it, though you would think it was a dark side user welding it.
Disclaimer: to those who are preferred players that have kotfe, and want to equip the eternal championship crystals, you need artifact authorization to equip them
Hey just wanted to say I got the white-purple-blue crystal thanks to this video. I also joined your guild recently and am happy to be in it, need to complete my application stuff however in time.
My top 10 favorite crystals, that I have managed to unlock from the GTN and cartel markets include the following! 1. Advanced Blue Outline Indestructible Crystal (white core, light cyan outline) 2. Advanced Sea Green War Hero's Crystal (seafoam green core, not outline) 3. Advanced Blue-Cyan-Indigo Eviscerating Crystal (dark greyish blue core, brightish blue outline) 4. Advanced Cyan-Blue Indestructible Crystal (medium blue core, deep blue outline) 5. Advanced Orange-Red Indestructible Crystal (deep orange core, deep red outline) 6. Advanced Charred Orange Indestructible Crystal (charcoal core, greyish orange outline) 7. Advanced Black-Orange Indestructible Crystal (black core, yellowish-orange outline) 8. Advanced Pink-Purple Eviscerating Crystal (indigo core, purple outline) 9. Advanced Fire Orange Evercerating Crystal (light orange core, bright yellow outline) 10. Advanced Black-Red Striated Hawkeye Crystal (Black core, bright red outline) - This is by far my all-time favorite crystal because it goes so well with my all-time favorite dye color (Black/Red) And if I were to add a few honorable mentions, they'd include the Advanced Orange-gold War Hero's Crystal (Bright orange core, pale yellow outline), the Advanced Ice blue War Hero's Crystal (Dark greyish blue core, near-white blue outline), the Advanced Fushia Indestructible Crystal (White core, pale indigo outline), and the Advanced Imperial Crimson War Hero's Crystal (Pale white core, blood-red outline)
@@Swtorista agreed, my favorite crystal in kotor 2. on my jedi sentinel I have an advanced silver-blue indestructible crystal, have you heard of that one?
I like the good and old Red Crystal for my Siths, the Pink Red is also cool, because remembers me of one edition of the original Star Wars where Vader saber looked magenta.
I absolutely love the white color crystal, I use it for my main, a Jedi Knight. I can't wait for the day when they actually release a pure black crystal, which will go to my Sith Warrior.
I have 3 of these white crystals...I got them back in 2011 like around a year after the game launched. I got a total of 3 of them and I paid like 1 million credits each...which was a TON of credits in 2011. Its called like the White War Hero's Crystal. I got all 3 before the Hutt Cartel came out.
(note has spoilers for the mandalorian show if you haven;t seen it) fun fact in star wars as a whole in gaming black core sabers have been around since the first lego star wars game on the handheld versions if i remember correctly but made its biggest impression on star wars the force unleashed and has been added in star wars games till swtor being the last consule game they were brought in and other times through mods now the newest offical game content with black lightsabers is through a few characters in the ea mobile starwars galaxy of heroes game with sabine from rebels and moff gideon from the mandalorian
I got a cheap White core with a little of blue and some purple at the cartel market, perfect for my watchman sentinel. I love white core for jedis and black core for siths.
i used to switch between two on my sith warrior. The rare green pvp crystal and the red one that is like darth vader's lightsaber color. I remember logging in with my character a while back, people were asking me about my skins and crystals. Found it weird , but figured they started removing older stuff.
I bought fire orange crystals for my Sith Warrior (neutral-light side) and it is my best purchase in the game so far. Took black-orange crystals before that but found out that I can barely see it in combat, it's too dim
Huh, I just realized going through this, the outfit designer now having weapons ~should~ mean I can finally stop "suffering" from the fact I only managed to get the crit and endurance white crystals back in the day and am completely unwilling to pay the price the others go for now. Shoutouts to whoever listed my endurance one for 2M back when they were 20M. I feel for you. But I totally got more use out of this thing than you probably would've the money.
Fire orange looks good on blaster, looks more like the movies. I have it with the lightning tuning mod and the blaster rifle that looks similar to Boba Fett's looks pretty clean
The crystal is the heart of the blade. The heart is the crystal of the Jedi. The Jedi is the crystal of the Force. The Force is the blade of the heart. All are intertwined. The crystal. The blade. The Jedi. You are one. I tend to stick with red crystals for my Sith characters, although I sometimes use a purple one for my sorcerer. My guardian used a blue one until I managed to get a yellow one, and I sometimes swap that out for a old craftable cyan crystal. I like to switch my shadow's vanilla green crystal out for either a mint green or desert green every now and then, keep it fresh. My sage has had a purple outline crystal her whole life
I have to ask... are you A.I.?? But serious. You have a nice and interesting voice to listen to. Great content to! As a SWTOR fan (alltought didn't play for a year now) im gonna subscribe. Maybe time to download SWTOR again. lol these videos make me feel like playing. My favorite color was black core and orange glow.
@@Swtorista Lol that's so true! No hard feelings. No need to sleep. Which would be very nice at times. No problems with getting tired. Make calculations like there is no tomorrow etc XD
I have a pink or ''light red'' now, on one of my first characters, looks great with the purple lightnight and the blue and green sabers of the companion but I've never been able to find one again
How about the Pre-Cartel White Crystal? Or the OG "Pink" Magenta. Year one, you could tell who was a raider if they were rocking "Cotton Candy" colors.
@@Swtorista Yeah, there are a few items in the game that i have in my bank that the devs removed from the game. Sadly i no longer play because what they did to us during one X-pac. We played from Beta up till the one patch where they removed all armor from raids. Crippled raiding guilds over night. But we had items from year one that they were just getting around to 5 years later that had their own classification. Oh well.
I've got the SE black greens and I don't think I've seen another set since playing just after release. I really miss the keyboard and mouse I got with the game, but both wore out over the years. The keyboard wasn't great, but the mouse was pretty awesome.
So there are 3 crystals that I absolutely love the color tones of that are ruined by either an intentional design or bad bloom implementation. Next time you get a chance check out the Red Gray, Olive green and Pale gold crystals. They look nice, but then have a really bad outline around the saber that just looks ridiculous, and if put in an unstable type saber you get blocky textures all around...FIX THOSE BIOWARE!!
man i should try to get back in to it, unfortunatly i only have a free to play account, though i made it during a free weekend back when the game came out and im one of a very few poeple who hast a sith race character on a f2p account lol.
Just bought my Black-Purple Eviscerating Crystal last night. Super happy with it so far. Planning on attaching a Lightning Tuning to it, but those are 100m and I'm still new to the game. Doing Heroics for money, at about 1m a day, so maybe in a few months, I'll have it :/
Personally, I can't bring myself to wield any color crystals that aren't from the launch period. I prefer the traditional colors: Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Orange, Purple, Cyan and White. I had a Consular who used Turquoise for a while, but it never really lived up to my expectations. I'm still waiting for a proper Viridian crystal like KOTOR 2 had. I know a lot of people like to use things like the black core crystals, but to me those are just awful.
