It's bad units that scare me. The person running them knows something I don't.

Probably my Primaris Judiciar leading Sword Brethren. My friends call him the Holy Diver because some times he just deletes stuff and can even hide in combat. Ride that tiger boys

My buddy has a Farseer He's named "Idroleth" he himself is not the scariest unit he owns but when he's pulled out we know it's gonna be a tough fight. For whatever reason he's almost impossible to kill with some god like saves and is just a pain in the ass. Not to mention with how the story of our Crusade has gone Idroleth is responsible for almost everything wrong that's happened.

"I can't kill this easily" Admech players: 1. Things with higher than T3 2. Things with stealth 3. Things with a 2+ save 4. Pretty much anything that isn't a guardsman or a hormagaunt

My Black Templars Land Raider Redeemer loaded with Helbrecht and 10 Sword Brethren is a powerful combo that deletes virtually anything it touches. Even the less extreme version with 2 squads of 5 Sword Brethren led by Helbrecht and another character, like a Bladeguard-LT or Judiciar with Sigismund’s Seal, is incredibly deadly. The only way to stop it is if the opposing player invests heavily in anti-tank firepower to overkill the Land Raider in one turn, and kill some of the Sword Brethren inside, before they get into charge range. However, tables with LOS-blocking terrain makes that unlikely, which is why Land Raiders and their passengers are such formidable threats!

Land Raiders have been a tournament staple for decades. Perfect deahtstar taxi and GW seems fine wiht it.

I do fear my Necron heavy firepower… getting blasted off the board after missing every shot they fired.

Avatar being scary is not surprising, but I want to mention my Archon who tanked all attacks from Khaine. 2++ did its job 😎

I’ve been told that hellblasters in a transport with a firing platform is very infuriating to face, with the ability to attack multiple times per turn, and the only drawback of overcharged plasma being nullified

I just hate the Nightbringer, very difficult to kill and outputs insane damage. By far the model I least like playing against

Not featured: anything 'Nid, 'cause their biggest weakness is the standard meta for even a semi-competitive list (tanky and high damage as mentioned in 3rd on this vid) and their biggest strength is a single cheese strat (biomines) which is not overly difficult to counter.

I get a bit squirrely whenever I see a unit with decent Melee output and access to Fights First. I run Genestealers with Broodlord / Screamer killers as objective clearers, and neither want to tank a full round of dedicated melee. C'tan and each of the Daemon Primarchs will make me stand up and take notice too.

I think what most of these 'problem' units/ armies have in common is that they really don't much care what their target is. Ironstorm in particular with the Primaris tanks and dreads have so many extra anti-infantry weapons on top of very powerful anti-tank that even if they run into a horde infantry army they can still wipe out units pretty quickly. Terrain is also very definitely an issue. I often see tournament lists that apparently did very well or won major events and know that there's simply no way they'd not get shot off the board in a couple of turns at my local FLGS. Most people simply don't have that much LOS-blocking stuff in their collections.

As an ork player, with the last reveals, it's my duty to put the stompa into that list.

I think "most dangerous units" in terms of meta is very relevant for "most players". I feel like with listbuilding becoming more and more streamlined with editions, middle of the meta (not necessarily the bottom) moves closer and closer to the top in terms of lists. Getting the idea to do something like spam Vehicles in Ironstorm is obvious to most people and differences in piloting requirements are also less pronounced. Yes, 7th was cancer but a big part why normal people just didn't play a Draigo Bomb was because your list was like a single 1800 point unit and you had to take extra care to score points with that against someone of equal skill. Mid players can very comfortambly run Ironstorm or Hypercrypt or what have you.

Honourable mention for the thousand sods demon prince with the relic. Good movement, a 14 attack, strength 7, damage 2 sweep profile and a 6 attack, strength 9, ap 2, damage 4 strike profile is no joke.

We have a guy at our local games store that runs imperial knights. He had only lost once. Currently doing a campaign and he pretty much tables every one by turn 2. Kinda unfun tbh

I play Eldar and guard as i have for decades, the model that make my heart sink more than anything when whipped out is Angron. just because of the revive thingy, i've had him pop back up 3 times in a single game once.

Ngl, centurion devastators are kinda good. I use them and despite being 370 for 6, they get the job done with their 6 twin lascannons being able to kill literally everything (like one time I had a game and in the whole battle, they helped kill a nightbringer, 2 doom stalkers and help kill a doomsday ark in a total of 5 battle rounds). Their missile launchers are kinda decent aswell. They have D3 attacks with blast and d3 damage. Just thought I’d say these because they are literally killing machines and pair well with vanguard ultramarines. Being able to deep strike with Uriel ventris and teleport around the map with guerilla tactics is kinda good

Hellblasters are scary becuase of how all the introduction boxes / combat patrols have worked over the lat few years. By the time a new play has collected their first 1000-2000 points of space marines using those boxes they almost certianly have 5-10 hellblasters. And then in their first few games gainst other new players they remember that time they got smashed by Hellblasters.

i played my first 2000 pt game with necrons a few days ago, my nightbringer strike one hit magnus from full wounds ...it felt kinda bad and i did not expect that from him

Last game I played was my guard vs necrons and the night bringer took 2 full rounds of shooting from my stormsword

Honour Vehement Captain + Sword Bros in Gladius. You pop Finest Hour in Assault Doctrine and get 10 Attacks, WS +2, Strength 10 + Free Lance Strat, -3 Ap + Dmg 3 + Devastating Wounds. That guy murders everyone before the Bros start to cook. 6 Eradicators with Fire Discipline in Devastator Doctrine literally look @ every vehicle or monster in the game and beam it to the Sun. Both combos are great into C‘tan due to how halve dmg works.

Surprised not to see an apothecary mentioned in with the hellblasters. Supercharge, prob 1 will die and get to shoot again, the he gets resus off the apothecary, What's not to like?

Hell Blasters have been dubbed my “bastard unit” by my play group and I do not blame them.

I remenber my land raider redemer who survive with 1 hp for 3 round because of my techmarines against a grey knight and he killed 1 nemesis knight each turn.

I love my Bloodthirster, until 8 mortal wounds per fight on top are pretty nice I think

Genuinely surprised to not see Eightbound/Exalted Eightbound on here. While World Eaters are struggling a little more broadly, they are utterly brutal units that move incredibly fast.

Definitely agree with the C'Tan. I threw my lancer at the void dragon and it took 3 turns to kill it. At nearly double the points value and D 8 lance at str 20 shouldn't have taken that long! held it at bay at least so my armigers could score well.

Everywhere I go with my World Eaters all I hear is “awww man, you brought Angron?!”

Ah the list of things that can delete my favourite unit and are tricky to prevent doing so. I'll bet if this poll were run in past editions when such things still existed anything that can do theoretically infinite damage would have been up there - limitless self generating attacks being the thing that comes to mind

Guard Artillery is a bit of a paper tiger. Yes, they can hit anywhere on the map, but unless a Scout Sentinel can see the target you’re at best hitting on 3+ with only S8 or S10, effectively only AP-1 because of cover. For 180 a Manticore should be able to easily wipe an 5 man Intercessor squad in a single turn of shooting, but in practice it just doesn’t.

Ctan have been a brick wall for me. Murdered morty and angron. Gonna try magnus next

I can attest to the Void Dragon being unreasonably tanky. Faced against a friend playing Imperial Guard, and he blew all his infantry, Basilisk, and Rogal Dorn shooting in him and by turn 4 he had barely managed to get up to 10 wounds out of 12. For the points, Void Dragon is way too strong, so I think he will get nerfed. I don't own a Nightbringer, but from what I've heard he is also a real terror on the field.

Stompa. It means your opponent either doesn't know what he's doing (which will make for all kinds of game problems), or he's somehow a secret genius and has some crazy strats that you're not ready for.

What's your opinion on Mozrog, now that he's less duable?

The guys I play against are absolutely terrified of Skorpekh Destroyers after watching my unit wipe out the entire left side of the board in three turns. On the last turn I charged Typhus and a full 20 Poxwalker unit for a laugh, just to see how many I could take down before the game ended. They killed everything.

Hekaton Land Fortress is a pain for me

I don't think the C'tan are pointed incorrectly. I think they just need to be limited to taking only 1 epic hero (transcendent C'tan not that scary lets be honest). Take away the better save, wounds, toughness and the potential -1 to wound from the Avatar and he'd probably be costed the same as the C'tan.

My qorst is fear my friend's necro army. She is super lucky on her saves and I can never get through her units. Her renaimation doesn't even really matter since I cant kill any of her stuff.

I've got like 6 or 7 Russ's 5 Carnodons 5 Basilisks 1 Malcador annihilator 2 Hades drills 3 Mecharius tanks (magnetized) and 1 Aukurian Stormhammer. Troop side over 16 squads of old school Grenadiers models a handful of officers two command squads and an old Karis Venner model al.ost forgot 3 Dracosian transports I proxy as chimeras.

For me the worst is the greater daemon of Khrone, avatar of Khaine and guard tanks. As for my opponents they don't like ST Celestine coming back, thunder wolves, Necron wraiths and the Nightbringer. In early 10th edition the Necron Lychguard deathstar combo was the worst for complaints.

Typhus is terrifying

Mozrog should get a mention here, he's ridiculously tanky for 195 points and his damage output against monsters/vehicles is way to high.

Man, I surprised the redeemer made this list. I don't get much out of it. Maybe Im just not good with transports. Jump infantry is about 75% of my best list. I've used that list in 32 games and yet to lose with it. (Should probably mention I play blood angels) I play against competitive players. Most of them having placed in top 3 at gts in 10th. The only reason I can't play tournaments myself is my health simply won't allow it. I can barely finish a game if it goes on too long (over 4 hours. I'm good for about 3). Hellblasters kind of make sense, if they are kitted out correctly they can be fierce. If you don't kill them quick they are going to kill some things. If you don't have units that can kill them in melee (melee is the best way, because then if they shoot, it's bolt pistols). Armor doesn't scare me. I think it's actually weak, which is why mine sits on the shelf. Death company, jump intercessors with the right leaders, or van vets can take them down in a charge (even ctan have a great chance at dying if charged by these units) if you call oath on them (except for the death company) and use red rampage on the unit that charges them. And I used to fear ctan. I still think they should be more pts to field, but they aren't that scary. Just call oath on them and use a big unit with red rampage on it. jump intercessors are king at this job, adding mortals on charge. But you can also throw grenades and red rampage on them cuz you should have a captain and sanguinary priest with them. They will fnp on some mortals, but then 51 attacks str 7 AP 2 DMG 1 attacks and 10 str 11 AP 3 DMG 2 (though it will take them as DMG one because of half damage rule) all with +1 to wound and lethals is most likely going to do it.

CSM player here. What are the best options for taking down the Avatar? His molten form is a real pain in the butt.

As a Harlequin player, I'm pretty intimidated by horde armies. Setting up and seeing that the enemy out number me around 3-4 to 1, and my T3 units.. I am the prime example of glass cannon. And when facing down such large numbers of enemies I just gotta pray I roll hot, otherwise i'm going to get tabled pretty quick. As they can tie me up in combat pretty easily.

Overall I love 10th flaws and all. But when both meta c’tan cost less than the swarmlord we have some balance issues.

Hellblasters are super inconsistent imho. They either do basically nothing or like 500 points worth of shooting damage in your enemies turn lol.

I don't know if I should feel bad for playing Magnus all the time. He's good for the first time in forever butbcan be very oppressive if the enemy is not prepared.

When I play tyranids anything with a 2 up sv or t10 or higher terrifies me

I run a Dark Angels gunline that outranges my opponent. I run terminators and dreads to screen. I win with attrition. I don't want to see a tau gunline because it just does my same tactic better.
