I'm I'mpressed that you're able to see past Rarity's femininity/fondness for fashion and find some ways in which you relate to her. A lot of Bronies seem to be unable to see past those things, but on a deeper level, I think she's more relatable than it might appear, and this vid is proof of that. I myself couldn't care less about fashion, but I think she's great nonetheless, and I can't say I've never related to her struggles in some way, shape or form.

#10 may as well be me. It's remarkable how far you've come Josh, and the same goes for people like Will and soon enough Logan. I'm not ashamed to admit that sometimes I get jealous and think "I started our community, so why am I not the most popular anymore?" Yet, then I tell myself to shut up and recognize everyone else's individual talents. We all grow at different rates; perhaps I still have lots of growing to do myself. To say the least it's a bit humbling to know that you feel a lot of the same feelings.

***** Josh I just wanna say you are my favorite RU-vid personality and if I could I would like to share my personal episodes if you don't mind one is party of One I could really relate to Pinkie in that episode becausefora because for a time I felt I had no friends at all and I would crawl into the dark recedes of my mind making Imaginary friend after imaginary friend and thinking of some of the worst things that I could do to everyone who betrayed me but when I found some really great friends who helped me get out of the darkness and the other episode Putting your hoof down because like Fluttershy I had a really hard time being assertive and when I was assertive I felt awful picking on people who didn't even deserve it and people I didn't even know but just like Fluttershy I was able to assert myself without being a jerk thanks to my friends

The Last Roundup: I sometimes lie to my family when I mess up, because I am afraid of how they will react. Suited for Success: In some school projects that I was involved with, it seemed that my teachers were never pleased with my work. No matter how hard me, or anyone else tried, it still wasn't enough. Green Isn't Your Color: In my film class back in high school, not a whole lot of people seemed to take interest in my ideas. During my senior year, we made a video that was terrible and didn't make sense. I showed the class a video that I had been working on for a year, but none of them payed any attention to it. And that really hurt me, since I was so excited for them to see it. Amending Fences: Almost all of my friends became my bullies, or did something that made me not trust them anymore. When they claimed to have forgotten that we were friends, or they don't remember how they had hurt me, I became upset. An old friend of mine who greatly scared me when I was 11 texted me this year, and I still feel uneasy because she kind of traumatized me (she locked me in a bathroom so I would wash my face). Many of my old friends, are the reason why I was both afraid of other women, and afraid of friendship for years. Putting your Hoof Down: I am sometimes a pushover, and I sometimes don't assert myself because I don't want to seem mean or rude. Sister Hooves Social: My little sister and I sometimes don't get along, manly because we don't share the same interests. But we still love each other, and we do find something that we have in common from time-to-time. Lesson Zero: When there is a deadline, or a test that I have to study for, I get really nervous and start to break down a bit. The stress really gets to me, and it takes a while for me to finally calm down. Luckily, my friends and family are there for me when I need them the most. Brotherhooves Social: There was a boy in my English class who was like a brother to me. We were together a lot, and we were there for each other. But one day, his parents sent him to live far away. He's changed quite a lot, and I really miss how things used to be between us. I really want us to be as close as we were back then, if it's possible. The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows: I have had to keep a lot of my friend's secrets, and it's really hard to do that. I often pray for my friends, and I don't know if I should tell my parents because they like my friends, and would want to be there for them. I have had to come up with excuses when they keep asking me questions about that friend.

wow, I had a friend in MY English class (and only English) and we spent A LOT of time together. I then was told a few months before hand that she would move to the Philippines after school ended. I was DREADING the day when she would have to leave and because of this, I spent a little less time with my other friend. We still keep in touch but since we're in different (timezones?) it's really hard, and well, she is ALSO a brony who kept up with every new episode. I have another friend who also likes mlp but she doesn't keep up with the episodes. She is also an artist just like me and i taught her the basics to drawing ponies which I had to learn on my own. But I guess it's a small world if BOTH of us had a special friend in an ENGLISH class who had to move away. btw I live in the US if you're wondering, so I understand your pain

I'm not typically an emotional person. Your talk on Number 1 made me shed tears, for a very similar reason. I've been horrible to my youngest sister. Whenever she'd sing, I'd try to get her to stop because she would mumble through it and it'd annoy me. This in itself is the pinnacle of my hypocrisy as I used to sing like that at her age, and now I get constant praise for singing at school because of years of practice. I might be destroying her confidence in singing as a result, and I couldn't have cared. I've been a terrible brother to her and I couldn't have cared. Clara, if you happen to read this... I'm sorry.

God dammit you made me cry. Because I know exactly what you are going through when it comes to little siblings. My younger sister Jeni and I when we were little were so close to each other. She admired me and when we got separate rooms she cried and didn't want me to go. But then as we got older our relationship started to change and things got hard. My sister Jeni has autism, and she was my closets playmate for awhile, because of this I wasn't good with other kids, and I think deep down I blamed her for that when it wasn't her fault. As we got older we started to get mad at each other. I was mad at her even though deep down I know its not her fault, I was mad at everyone else for other kids thought her disability was funny, I wanted to protect her but she didn't want me to. She has a light case of autism and she found out what it was and time and time again cried "I don't want to be autistic! I hate it I want it to go away!". We drifted so far apart and I understood too late why she was always mad at me the most, she of course was more vocal and I got the worst of her tantrums. We are just a year and three weeks apart...and yet I'm not autistic, she one day said to me. "I'm jealous of you cause you can do things I'll never do", and that hit hard. I realized the hard truth that she was right. I had the chance to be whoever I wanted to be with no limitations, chances she would never get, she could very well still do something great but she'll have to fight so much harder then me. We both just made each other miserable, we would get along yes but then other days god, we did sadly get abusive with each other she has no control and I would defend myself but fight back harder in anger. I'm glad you mended things with your brother, my sister and I are a different case, we are always making up and fighting again. My sister is just so angry now she doesn't know what to do, we are on and off good and bad terms. And I don't think that'll ever change. I just wish I realized what made her mad at me long ago. It's always nice to know there are others that go through similar trials you know? You've inspired me to try harder with my sister and I truly thank you for that.

This is gonna sound kinda dumb and I know nobody is going to care, but Princess Cadance is my favorite pony for two personal reasons, and this video made me want to voice them. For one, she helps people with no problem hurting herself. This was made clear in the Crystal Empire episode, where she was on the brink of starvation and sleep deprived, yet pushed on - for ponies she had only known for a few days. This was reinforced in the Discord episode, for even while Twilight was huffing and puffing about "sick" Discord, Cadance made it clear that she was ready to help. As a person who greatly respects those who sacrifice themselves for others - firefighters, cops, men and women in the armed forces - this spoke out to me. I want to - and plan to - enlist personally, and while it sounds weird, a pink pony princess showed me why. The next has to do with her role as Princess of Love. She is known for spreading love and kindness, but in instances such as Canterlot Wedding, Crystal Empire and *especially* Three's A Crowd, she proves that she is ready and able to fight. Yet, why doesn't she? Because she always wants to find a compromise. In middle school, I was an angry kid. I started many fights, and won them - for they were never for a good reason, so I had the upper hand of being very mad. But now, I haven't gotten in a fight in a *long* time (probably couldn't even if I wanted), and I believe that Princess Product Placement (thanks, Sethisto) has given me an inspiration. She chooses not to fight not out of physical weakness, but moral strength. TL;DR - I sound like I belong on Tumblr :P

#1 hurts me personally. I was also the same way with my brother, and it wasn’t until after I graduated high school that I realized how thankful I was for him to be my brother......he died February 8, 2016 from being hit by a truck. The last thing he did was push his friend out of the way, saving him. My brother died a hero, and my biggest regret is not having been a better brother to him growing up

When he mentioned his issues with his little brother I broke down crying. Me and my sister fight every single day and I regret it, but never repaired it. I would say that I would try but it ended up failing immediately afterwords. I have completely dashed her dreams before because of insecurities in my own self. I always told myself it was her fault for arguing with me but I realized here it's MY fault. If I had just listened to her instead of causing more drama in her life then maybe we would be on better terms at the moment. My sister is considered overweight by many people and she mostly idolizes me because to her, I'm skinny. I am suicidal and just hearing her say that I am her idol because of how I look hit me so hard. I realized just because we have different opinions and she can be a drama queen at times, that gives me no right to treat her like trash. This was a breakthrough. Josh you'll probably never even read this comment but thank you so much.

Your #1 choice is absolutely heartwarming, Josh. I can't say I identify with it myself, since I'm an only child, but it's wonderful that it helped you to patch things up with your brother. As for me, while I can't give my personal top 10 list (at least, not without thinking it over first), I definitely identify with Suited For Success for the same reasons you gave. What you said about Hurricane Fluttershy also struck a chord with me because I'm sure I've felt that way at a few points in my life, at least. Anyway, this was a wonderful list overall and it was great to learn these things about you. :)

There's few things in the world more beautiful than finding a way to improve itself or to finally see how we were misguided. There is a lot in life that we are trying to achieve and even if we don't succeed in all of them, those variables are compensated by some constants, family, love and real friendship. Sure, life is hard and we are a race that thrives through conflict being very personal or on a bigger scale. We are confronted to a lot of things and the only rule I keep in my life is : "It doesn't matter if your decision was the best in the eyes of the world, as long as you can look yourself into a mirror with pride, you're doing it right." Thanks Josh for your confession, it is truly something to admire and I am glad to see more of you. Really thank you and keep doing what you love, I wish you the best. See ya Plénitude

I have a list as well: 10. Putting Your Hoof Down. I am a doormat that people walk over and people say I need to be more assertive. When I do, I can go a little overboard. It's not my intention to, but I do. 9. Dragon Quest. I'm pretty sure everybody has been pressured to do the wrong thing before. 8. Equestria Games. It might not be the Marine corps, but performing at a state level concert can put a lot of pressure on you. Also, when I make a mistake, I feel terrible, sometimes to an extreme. I'm dead serious about this; one time when I forgot to attend a band concert, I attempted to burn myself with my mom's curling iron. 7. Rainbow Falls. Those moments when you have to give up your friends to hang out with the popular people, I hate it so much. 6. It's About Time. I always overreact to every mistake I make and go to worst case scenario. 5. tie between Twilight's Kingdom and Winter Wrap up. I sometimes feel useless in a few group efforts and I'm just either watching, doing minor tasks, or screwing things up. 4. Pinkie Apple Pie. As much as I love my family, they do have things that annoy me. My mother's always busy, my sister's a nut, and I don't know my dad that well. But they do have their upsides. My mother would do anything for me, my sister is funny and sweet, and I have the best dad ever. 3. Sisterhooves Social. My sister and I haven't always been on good terms. We always got into arguments, take our things, and shun each other. We're on better terms now, but man, this episode showed me a lot. 2. Lesson Zero. For reasons I don't want to explain. 1. For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils. Unlike Josh, I was on Sweetie Belle's end. I always thought my sister was the greatest person alive and I was just another kid. Sometimes, I never felt like myself, I felt like I was my sister's brother. I know she doesn't intend to do this, but I just can't help but be mad at her. Even now, I still sometimes feel like that, but I forget about it and move on. And Again, we're on better terms now. Wow, this was much more lengthy than I expected it to be.

This video really tugged on my heartstrings. I have a lot of these problems, especially with making a big deal out of nothing and giving myself too much flack for my mistakes. I was almost in tears by the end because even though I have a close relationship with my family there are some things I regret such as not being able to come to terms with my dad about things before he passed last year. Regardless, I am still extremely grateful for the time we had and what we had.

My best personal episode would probably be Equestria Games, I deal with a terrible inferiority complex because I want to become an animator for a living, but everywhere I look from the internet to old Disney movies on TV I constantly get the feeling that I'm not good enough. It also doesn't help that I became interested in this career option until last year, and I graduate next year so that makes me uncomfortable in the amount of time I have to improve my skills before applying to college. And whenever I do make good artwork and my friends and family take a hold of it and say it's really good, I can't help but think it's just "eh" or that I was just doodling. While I still deal with this issue, this episode managed to help me overcome some of those demons and helps me to push forward.

Number 6 Also resonates with me. I am not a Marine Corpsman like Josh, but I was told at a young age that I was a smart kid. That I was brilliant. That I could go places if I set my mind to it. So... that kinda had a negative repercussion for me. Whenever I didn't do as well as I thought I should have (instead of doing exactly what I could and accepting that), I bombarded myself with self-loathing because I didn't measure up to what my parents and teachers said I could be. I have started to get over it, but it is still there.

***** I went through something similar in high school. Because of my ADHD I almost got placed in special ed, I was so desperate to improve my grades that when I got a C on a test, I put a pencil in my leg in anger and actually believed it was what I deserved for coming so close to failure.
@Keybug55

I was placed in special ed because I had a developmental disorder (it was just a light form of autism. If anything it makes me too overwhelmed with things. ex: getting too much work in many classes). The fact that I was in special ed didn't really hit me until I was in middle school, I knew something was wrong. I tried to get into a normal curriculum because I thought I was growing out of special ed, but to no avail. I was in special ed until I graduated high school, and throughout I thought I was just too stupid to function. Now that I am in college, I feel they treat people with any form of special needs better than in public schools. I'm just happy now I can learn at my own steady pace.

I can relate to that; but not academically, just psychologically. In 5th grade I was in pretty average classes, and was overall pretty smart.but I had a SERIOUS problem with dealing with problems and often spent nights in my mom's bed just crying and telling her everything wrong with my life. I didn't want to do anything, I just wanted to tell somebody. I had a very good relationship with my mom, and I knew I could trust her. I knew I looked like one of those kids who was autistic, or had some sort of mental health problem. But I didn't. I was a completely different person at home than at school, and is never knew why I acted like an idiot when around people that weren't my family. One day, my mom decided to contact school counselor. She had previously asked me if she should talk to her, and I told her I didn't want to. She did it anyway. I didn't say much. We played a board game. But when I got home, I was really mad. It was really only me trying to be a normal person. I hated the idea of someone who visits a counselor regularly, and I didn't want to be a kid who needed special help. The counselor told me to do it once a week for at least two weeks before I said I wouldn't do it. I decided to keep doing it. It really helped me, and I continued until the next year.

I can totally relate to all of you. My mother has been married three times, each time ending .... well, let's just say they didn't end well... Anyway, her second husband would beat me with the belt if I had anything below a B. Even after he left, I still get stressed out if my grade drops, even to the point of breaking down. Especially if I think something is worth quite a bit of my grade, I fail, and I can't make it up. I mentally and physically break down and I have a panic attack. Happens with a few other things if I'm stressed enough. All in all I understand what you guys are/did go through. As for the counselling and special ed, I wasn't placed in special ed but I was in ELL (which I still don't know why, considering English was my first, and until recently, my only language) and was bullied because of it. I was bullied for many other things, and I was quite depressed as a little kid. I had to go to the counsellor every week, and I looked forward to those visits, because it not only allowed me to escape the bullying for a few hours, but the counsellor was nice and helped me talk through things. It also helped with my anger issues, and now I'm much more patient than before.

Josh I know I am late in saying this, but thank you. What started out as a video showing the depths of your personal experience, transformed into something greater. the way others like the Autarch are able to relate and bring something to the table is remarkable. Your struggles and revelations made my sister and i grow closer together by looking at your traits through our own experiences (mainly my sister's perspective). For that you have been cemented as one of my favorite youtubers and from the bottom of my heart thank you for everything.

I just want to say that you did a wonderful job explaining how these episodes were meaningful to you. I suffered a strain relationship with my little brother as well growing up. I could really relate, he always got me in trouble, always got away with everything, and was needy. I resented him, and it wasn't until a while after I moved out that I really regretted it. I felt like I failed him as a big sister. He has a different father from the rest of our siblings, and his dad never even visited him. He was horribly influenced by our step father. He had a very bad asthma condition, and mental disorders ran in his dad's side of the family I never realized he was developing, making school and behavior hard for him. I could have been nicer, but I always belittled and excluded him, when he looked up to me most. Once we were both older, I realized I messed up big time, and tried my best to help him go through the tough times of being a teen, and all the other problems he faces with anger. So I know a lot of what you feel as an older sibling that could have done more. Just know that you are trying now, and that you are a god brother now. You just got to keep trying. Anyway, thanks for posting this list. I share your feelings on the family ones too.

josh, I don't have a very big family, basically, i'm an only child, but I really want a little sister, many of my friends who do have a little sister tell me it's the worst thing ever. well, i don't care. i want a sister whom I can love and care for as a family member, I don't care about fights or fall-outs because I would still have somebody who I could love with all my heart. I admire your family, josh, I really do.

Josh, this countdown truly speaks to me. Right now, I'm going through a difficult metamorphosis of my very being and let me tell you, it is not easy. I'm facing a lot of personal changes and it is coming with some heavy blows to my pride and personal comfort. But in hindsight, I know it's all worth it. I'm learning to be more open, to give things a first try before shutting it down completely, to pay more attention to what my family says, being more involved and being more responsible. It's scary, it's painful and I wish all this uncomfortableness would stop and leave me alone. But even though apart of me is going to hate saying this, I need to endure. I need to see all this through, so I can come out the other end and be a better person for it. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to hold on as tight as I can, and if I feel like I'm going to let go at anytime, I'm going to tell someone about it, so I have someone to catch me when I fall. I'm facing a lot of tough love too, which I'm finding very frustrating and very humiliating, but sometimes life is like cough syrup; it tastes awful, but in the end, it's good for you. Thank you for showing me that even the seemingly perfect people on the internet are just as flawed and vulnerable as I am. Thank you once more and wish me luck. :)

Josh... you are my favorite you tuber because I relate to you in many ways... when I was young, I had a difficult time studying, while both of my older sisters where passing with flying colors, my autism (It was very mild, and it still is.) didn’t help me either, I used to be distracted by my surroundings and even my thoughts distracted me, but my teachers and family supported me to work harder, and now I’m passing my grades with ease, thanks you so much for this video, it made me tear up a bit.

I don't belong to the fandom, nor am I interested in watching the series long-term. Don't get me wrong, I believe the series' quality is, at the very least, really high. It's just not my cup of tea. However, just by listening your countdown, I can see an incredible amount of passion and intensity coming from the brony community. It seems that this show has something everyone can relate to and learn from. Your explanation for #1 was gold. Great countdown. Easily among your best.

Dear Josh, Everything you said in your video really hit me hard. I relate with most of what you connected with. (Aside from the marine connections. Thank you for your service by the way. :) ) The one I feel I relate the most is your struggles involving Lesson Zero. You see, I'm currently in a long distance relationship, 2,380 miles apart. It's super easy to let my insecurities get the best of me. I eventually have to be consoled by my mother that everything is alright. Every single little detail, I'll end up making a big deal of it when really, there's absolutely nothing to worry about and it was all in my head. It also doesn't help that I've recently developed anxiety. Like you, when I finally go on what I call "Overload Mode", I break down and cry. The episode and how you also connected to the episode really touched me. I just want to say thank you for making this video and inspiring me. I took everything you said to heart, especially with the whole appreciating your family ordeal. It's just a reminder on how amazing this community is. Can't ever connect with other communities like I do with the brony community. God bless ya man. :')

Top 10 from me: 10. Equestria Games: A fantastic moral along with one of Spike's greatest moments. I don't care about the disappointment. 9. Magical Mystery Cure: While horribly rushed, the songs are fantastic and I do love the story in the episode. 8. Cutie Mark Chronicles: A great backstory for each of the Mane 6, with Twilight and Pinkie having my favorite backstories. 7. Party of One: The humor in this episode is fantastic, and gives us an overused, but classic moment of the show, showing Pinkie at her scariest. 6. Lesson Zero: Do I even need to say anything? It's a pure classic, and one of Season 2's finest. 5. Too Many Pinkie Pies: A clone story done correctly, and with a great twist with Pinkie thinking she's a clone? Yep, this episode is my favorite of Season 3. 4. Sisterhooves Social: This is my favorite Rarity episode, even though it's a Rarity/Sweetie Belle episode. It's incredibly heartfelt, and it shows sibling interactions realistically, something I relate to a lot. 3. Hurricane Fluttershy: Every time I watch this episode, I go back to when I was a shy 10 year-old, and the stage fright I had at the time. It's the best Fluttershy episode so far, and my favorite Season 2 episode. 2. Twilight's Kingdom: This episode has a badass action sequence, and some character development, and it's one of the most exciting episodes I've ever seen. 1. Pinkie Pride: Do the math: My favorite pony (Pinkie Pie) + Weird Al + Musical = AMAZINGNESS!!!

I've always been insecure with my friendships, always fighting back ideas that my pals might not actually enjoy my company, that I might come off too strong with my jokes or personality, and start to just become annoying. Years ago there was a fairly large event that my friends and I had planned to attend together, but due to a misunderstanding (and the fact that I didn't have a cell phone at that time), I got left behind. At the time, I didn't realize my abandonment was due to a miscommunication, so the entire time they were away I seethed with anger and despair from thoughts of my friends rejecting me. My thoughts turned pretty dark at the prospect that they could just callously toss me aside. Then they all got back, the misunderstanding was cleared up, and we are still good friends to this day. For that relatively short period of time, though, my insecurities had torn me down so completely that I was ready to do something rash if given the provocation. Many people criticize "Party of One" for Pinkie being bipolar or OOC, but the first time I saw it, my mind went back to that time in my life. It struck me at me core, and I couldn't help falling in love with that episode.

to all reviewers and members of FOB Equestria, i wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these videos and helping me smile through my darkest times i am a huge fan of mlp and i plan to see the new mlp movie the day it comes out, but at first i couldnt be myself because my family and friends hate my lifestyle and tried to change my veiws and opinions. but once i saw the videos that Dr wolf, Analysis Anarchy, Lightning Bliss, Josh Scorcher, etc post about mlp i realized that we all have people like that one way or another. i wanted to give each of my favorite reviewers a personal thank you and hope to possibly meet you at Bronycon 2018 (my first convention) and give you a proper thank you (to Alex Rochon) i watched your colab with josh and i laughed at how you called hades "baby" it was funny i now watch your countdowns in good faith and smiles everytime (to Dr Wolf) i see you as my sensei when i watch your therapy sessions but i enjoyed your nightmare night act doing a quick snipit of "whats this. i relate to everything you discus and take your advice to heart. (to Thespio) congratulations on your engagement i find your character in analysis anarchy tf2 very amusing and charismatic as well as your colab on newbie dash. i wish you lasting harmony with your special somepony and you are best spy lol (to Miss Bliss) you have the most well developed oc i have ever seen i love your magic lessons videos i am a huge fan and will always be your biggest fan and finally to you Josh Burner, i have commented once on a video your reaction to lilypeet you were my light when i felt lonely after getting harrassed because im a pegasister but then i watched your reviews and taking too seriously videos and i personally want to say thank you for giving me the courage to be the woman i am today like you i wasnt a pegasister at first it was your review of the canterlot wedding that made me take a look i see you as my mentor and i hope you go to bronycon 2018 because you are the one i wish to personally thank the most, i am now a luna fan and am making my own luna cosplay gown for bronycon. and i also think rarity is best pony, it may be goofy but i made you a rarity build a bear plush if i ever got lucky enough to meet you face to face. thank you FOB Equestria for everything you guys do, i am proud and honored to call myself a lifetime fan of yours, i look forward to hopefully meeting you at Bronycon 2018 and enjoying the fandom even more your fan, Harmony Breeze

I connect with a lot of the family centered episodes. Perhaps my biggest personal episode is For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, as I too had an overachieving older sibling and I wanted nothing more than to make my own identity and be an equal to my brother rather than just being known as "his little brother". And I remember I did something I still regret to this day, just like Sweetie Belle did I tried to sabotage my brother. Even though it did get fixed in the end I still feel horrible that I even attempted something so despicable. I suppose that's why I connect to Sweetie Belle so much, particularly when it comes to siblings.

Wow. Dude, you have earned my respect. A show bringing out the good in you like that, is just an AMAZING story. I can admit that I kinda relate too. I'm a younger brother to an older brother who at times could be a jerk and even had me in meltdowns and tears, (I have aspergers) and I know full well how much of a pain siblings can be, especially when you are on the receiving end. But even despite that, I can't help but still remember the things that I do have fun with and am grateful for him for, and I will admit that I sometimes wonder if maybe the reason it wasn't quite such a healthy relationship between us was because I needed to try and get him to trust and believe in me as a good example of what to be and what not to be, and that I wasn't always there for him to see the things that were going on in his life or I just didn't notice. I really do want to make sure that I set a good example for my now younger brothers since I'm no longer the youngest in my family, and I also want to make sure I can help my older brother when he needs it, so I'm going to remember what you've said here and take to heart these relatable issues that the episodes you discussed touched upon. Thanks man. People like you in this world give me and many others hope and guidance like you wouldn't believe. And amazingly enough, MLP seems to as well. Talk about finding things in the most unlikely places.

I owe a lot to this show, too. For the majority of my life, ever since I was diagnosed, I always denied the existence of Asperger syndrome. It just seemed like a label to me because I didn't see myself any different from anyone else (and truthfully, my family didn't take much steps to try to help me out with it). Then I saw the Brony documentary and saw there were people like me and that I was different from others (though, not in a bad way). I was able, after 12 years off denying its existence, to accept the fact that I did have Asperger syndrome and that it didn't make me any lesser of a person. Things really changed for me after that. I felt happy for the first time in years. I owe a lot to this show.
@25Erix
@25Erix 10 лет назад
ShaDHP23 I can relate a little bit. I have mild Asperger's which went undiagnosed until last October. I didn't exactly deny its existence but it never was on the radar of things I would think about...which pretty much sums up the condition. It tends to limit your thought patterns to the things you take interest in. If something isn't interesting to me, I'm not going to waste brain power on it. I knew I had some sort of problem that was keeping me from getting my life started (sad considering I'm now almost three years away from my 30th birthday) but I just didn't dwell on it because my interests take up a huge part of my processing power. My mind is prone to wander, another symptom of mine. The reason I got this diagnosis is because it was blocking all my attempts at getting a steady job and KEEPING it longer than nine months. I was 25 when I finally got a name to the issues. I got the help I needed to narrow down my job options to jobs I can perform and not have my Asperger's get in the way, which was my issue before. I'm now working seasonal for a Michaels store doing stock work. It's something I can focus on for five or five and half hours without my mind wandering and it's a fun job, which makes it easier. It also speeds the time along so it doesn't seem like a long time compared to the other jobs I've had. I also have the benefit of fun coworkers.

I also have it (I am not officially diagnosed but I was interviewed for 30 minutes during a good day) and I was for the longest time wasn't worried about what anybody thought about me, then I got older and was worried constantly worried about what everyone thought. All of those episodes have always held a dear place to me, granted in a different order but still. To hear that there's others out there that see Rariy's relationship with Sweetiebell the same as their own with siblings is powerful. Sisterhooves social really was my biggest episode, I sent it around asking if I really was acting like Rarity to my little sister. The reactions were heartbreaking, I thought I tried to include her in so much, only to see my own actions played right back at me. I was in tears for hours. I bottled that up and keep going in school, but boy was it bad when I finally broke down crying in front of the one person who I'd always been strong for. So I guess this whole rant really is me trying to say, both a thank you for having the courage to make this video and a I understand the presser-stress-high expectations mentality. I hope things work out for you.

Thanks for making me cry Josh with that last part. I know a lot of what ur little brother went through with yalls relationship cuz it's still happening to me. I'm 19 soon to be 20 in Oct the baby of 4 kids and my oldest older brother (who was in the Navy) has been cruel to me for years now and still is. Like when I graduated in '13 my brother completely blow it off as nothing and tells me I should have been held back. even when I was in musicals, had choir concerts I would invite him but would never show up till my Jr year when I was in Beauty and the Beast. I was so happy when he came only to have him talk down on me and my fellow cast. And it's not the first time he's done this to me. Senior year hit and the pressure of have to choose college and a career hit. My first opinion of joining the Marines got shut down when I was 11 do having Scoliosis so bad I now have rods in my back. But now anything I wanna do always gets shut down by him and convenience not only my mom (parents are separated) but other we know to back him up. Like I still have a passionate drive for music but also culinary. But now I find myself fearful to try and do anything to pursue those paths. But just for now I'll just say this Sisterhooves social is a episode it's not in my top 10 but I do see myself in sweeties hooves. And alot of times it makes me wanna cry as do alot of the sister episodes as I wish I had a close connection with my siblings there's 15, 12, & 10 years between me and my siblings. I can explain more if I get a chance to see you at Bronycon I will be going to the FOB panel and I also hav something to give you. My badge name is Scarlet Nightmare and Saturday I'll be dressed as a Fem Big Mac. Can't wait to see you this will be my first CON ever.

Okay, since no one else has brought it up, I'll say it. Josh, you used the Elements of Harmony to describe your family during the end credits. * Your mom is generous. * Your older brother is dependable (another word for honesty). * Your sister is sweet (another word for kindness). * Your younger brother is loyal. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. In fact, I think its kinda clever and pretty touching. However, I'm not sure which EOH you were using to describe your dad when you said he was amazing. Do you think you could elaborate on that?
@gent777
@gent777 10 лет назад
actually, i'd say that the younger brother is laughter because if he has the "uncanny ability to make friends with anyone", he's similar to Pinkie Pie. i'd say that the father represents loyalty because the best father is a loyal father. a loyal father never quits on you and will always be there for you.

gent777 So by that logic, that would leave Josh with Magic, which would make him the Twilight Sparkle of his family.

Gregory Cassella Considering that there r no other elements to talk about AND that this is Josh's discussion, then yes, he is the element of magic.

After watching a bunch of you analysis guys for the last few weeks, I have been re-watching episodes of MLP and have been noticing some personal feelings that come out when watching them. Thanks to you and a bunch of the others, for helping me be able to enjoy this show a bit more than just for a simple laugh.

***** It's a Christian thing. When we find out somebody is a Christian, it's like an instant liking forms. Unless they are a total jerk. It could be because we call ourselves brothers in Christ. Maybe it's because there is somebody we care about who we know is going to heaven. It's hard to understand if you aren't a Christian. I'm sorry that I can't explain it too well. :/

Your whole family speech drove me to tears. My family has sooo many problems, and my uncle has an extremely negative vibe for the last few years, and it hurts me. I love my family more than anything, but it's really tough to deal with them. But I know they love me no matter what.

And this is why Josh, along with The Autarch, RabbidLuigi, and Fawfuls Minion are my favourite youtubers. You really helped me get through hardships in my life (I wont go in depth because I dont want pity) and really showed me in this episode that, even when us viewers see you or any youtuber as havinga perfect life, its far from that. Thank you.

9:46 Man I feel you dude, honestly when I was the big brother, everytime I kept up on screwing up something big or small, my little brothers tend to follow that trend as well. Its well to the point where I thought that taking this role was too much for me and wanted to be left in solitude just for them to not follow what I exactly do. I'm still struggling with being the role-model to them, but I still continue with the role. After the role is over, I'm not so sure if I may continue or not. 10:49 Aw man, now you got me in tears. I've actually been through that situation too many times. I mean even though it was my own family, I kept on lying to them every single moment. Everytime I lied to them, it damaged me more. I knew they would find out eventually, yet I kept on doing it. To this day, the chasm built from those little white lies is slowly being closed yet I can't forget all of those moments. 12:41 You too? You've had that happen as well? My god, I never mentioned this before on the last quote, but the biggest chasm was between my little brother and myself. I mean, ever since he was born, he was the best thing I could ever have, me being the big brother, I've never felt so happy! It was like God had given me another chance to redeem myself! Until the years have past, the two of us would bicker a lot nowadays and even over the most tiniest of things we would bicker over it. The result was that it almost broke the two of us apart. Our bond was slowly going to brake apart, yet it was beginning to heal albeit slowly. I hope that the two of us can finally go with each other without the constant bickering. My, ugh, can someone get me some tissue paper? I need to wipe my tears away. Those three are the only things that deeply affected me the most, the rest was stuff I've never been through yet. Though by the time it happens, I may as well be ready for it. Thanks man, even though you didn't do anything, you sure brighten up my gloomy day. I mean it, thanks. Now I wish I could meet you personally and thank you for it, but this is all I have. Also, your reason to being a brony was also the same reason for me as well. So yeah, love your family by the way :)

Your thoughts on the Lesson Zero bit really struck home with me. I feel the exact same way when it comes to stressful situations. I don't talk to anyone, I don't leave my room (my dorm room, this really started to show itself more when I got to college) and I just don't do anything but work. I make good grades and do well sure, but I do it at the cost of nearly no social activity, hardly ever leaving my room even to eat, and feeling like a bump on a log nearly all the time. This past year was my first in college and I honestly felt miserable a good percentage of the time. When I finally began to call my parents during the work week (I'd go home every weekend) I would just break down and cry because I felt so overwhelmed by everything. Being a girl who doesn't like others to hear or see me cry, it was just nice to be able to talk to my parents and have them encourage me. Your last thoughts on the episode when you talked about coming closer to God, I honestly had to play that bit again. It has been so long, so SO long since I've heard the word God without being in vain on RU-vid. My dad would often send me notes on facebook with bible verses in them and they helped so much. They meant so much to me and encouraged me to get closer to Him over the two semesters. I'm honestly scared for this fall, so much to the point where I sit and stress out about it, but recently I just kept praying not to worry about this, because stressing about it months in advance is going to do nothing but destroy my summer. Even when the time comes, if I look at it from a different angle and come closer to God, I already know it's going to be better. Sure it may be stressful, but no Christian life is perfect. I know that by praying on it for guidance will only make it better, though. Long story short, thanks Josh. This insight to your personal episodes has really helped me in my perspective of things. As complicated as my comment is, I'm glad I decided to write it out ^_^'

First I must say that I fracking -loved- the soundtrack you put up for this. Secondly the last bit made me tear up, being a younger sister who had an older sister that would bully me for things, I can say that your apology and at least trying to do better must mean the world to your baby brother

I always wondered what the turning point was, what made you switch from being an off-beat, somewhat objective reviewer of this show to a full-on fan. Now I finally have the answer, and it's so much deeper than I ever would have expected. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

1) Rarity is my favorite because I connected to her most. 2) Every choice for this list makes perfect sense and it’s great that you felt comfortable sharing it 3) I’m the youngest in my family with no brothers, but even I completely get what you are talking about. 4) I like your analysis of factors about family members that are annoying and how they connect to good traits as well. I’ve personally always felt that the flaws in every person are just dark reflections of key personality traits like how someone with a short temper is usually someone who is very passionate. 5) Thank you for being a Marine. I have a friend who just joined the Navy and I know that everyone in the armed forces deserves major respect for everything they do for our country.
