I'm a portrait/headshot/fitness and artistic portrait photographer from the Bay Area. Besides the common things such as strobes, light modifiers, light stands, etc., this is my Top Ten Semi-Unconventional Items you should have on-hand at your photo studio, if you too shoot headshots, portraits, and the like. Perhaps “semi” unconventional is the best term here as these items are the types of things that I didn't realize were so important until I eventually setup my photo studio and grew in experience. These may be new ideas for some, or they might commonplace for others, but here are some non-standard things that I have added to my studio over the years that make photoshoots much smoother. So whether you’re an amateur/hobbyist photographer with a home-based studio, or even a professional photographer, there might be a few items here on this list that could compliment your photo studio. This video has a brief explanation for each item, along with some reasons why they are so invaluable in a photo studio setting. And there’s even a drum roll at the end!
