@@rynemcgriffin1752 naw bed of chaos cuz multiple reasons 1) its backstory made it sounded like it be a awesome boss battle 2) its not even a fight its a platformer with switches 3) its mostly base on luck if you not gonna get swiped in and can kill the boss in 1 life capra demon was just annoying with arena and 2 other fast enemies
I was wearing purple in this video because it was Purple Day this week which is very important to me since it highlights some of the dangers of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). My girlfriend lost her best friend to SUDEP and thousands more die suddenly every year. To find out more and to see how you can help, go to www.purpleday.org/ and sudep.org/
Holy shit you have a girlfriend ? Also my condolenses, it bad enough that this virus is out here but SUDEP sounds similar to the Sudden Death Syndrome that happens to infants and that isnt good
The Covetous Demon gets his name from the lore. He was a nobleman so obsessedly in love with the queen of the land that he tried to seduce her by eating as much food as he could, until he became the monstrosity you see. No I'm not kidding.
It's funny how The One Reborn is on this list because my friend and I talked about Bloodborne last night, and we came to the conclusion that Yahar'Gul as a whole is probably one of the creepiest areas lorewise. The whole thing about people being kidnapped to be sacrificed for the ritual that eventually spawns the One Reborn is interesting, but it being rendered incomplete or being a sort of 'fake' Great One winds up being a very bad thing for it and the Bell Maidens around it. ... Doesn't excuse the One Reborn for being a garbage boss, but at least the lore's neat.
Id argue that the ancient wyvern is in a similar situation. I forgot which spear its on but it says that the spears imbedded with lighting are aimed at the back of a dragons head to kill it. And thats where the plunge attack goes when you kill the wyvern. And i honestly think the boss isnt really all that bad when compared to most other souls bosses
I did get that feeling too, that the One Reborn was an attempt at making a false Great One. Or one they did summon but was incomplete. Cause on both sides...it looks pretty incomplete.
Bed of Chaos just fills me with disappointment because it's got such cool lore tied to it and it's one of the worst experiences in the Soulsborne games.
Shawn Heatherly It’s even more disappointing since there was supposed to be more to the fight. we found data showing the Bed dragging itself around and performing attacks meaning there was going to be a second phase of sorts for her fight.
Not only saves you little puppy learns his lost and starts to love him in the past and in the future (present) he sniffs you and can not fight right of sadness like you. This fight is a only sadness torture for you and Sif. Even the RU-vid channel aviators has written and sung a song for the puppy and his master. I cried the whole song.
Can’t believe Prowling Magus isn’t on this list, literally just a bunch of normal enemies in a mid sized room. At least with the rats you have to find the ONE enemy to hit
I was expecting it as well. I mean Royal Rat Vanguard is just as bad, but at least that one was an optional boss. Prowling Magus stopped your progress and it was just normal enemies. Not even a gimmick like with Deacons of the Deep, just a bunch of regular enemies.
Prowling Magus and Congregation have a little more variety than the rats do with clerics that heal and shoot lightning and a mage that casts a couple of spells, but the fight is still pretty garbage.
I'm surprised that Kong Allant isn't on this list....not tje human puppet of him I mean his black tadpole tar looking form...literally puts up no fight
I love the demon of hatred sekiro wouldn’t be as special without it. You don’t have to fight it but it’s thrown in to mix things up. It’s fun to run around the battlefield taking the thing on. Though I do understand your reasoning for putting it on the list
RNG? All you have to do is a mid or fast roll lmao I am not saying that the boss fight is good but I am saying that people complaining about being killed by it are 99% fat rollers.
@@KapitanPazur1 playing a heavy armor setup with a load too high is a legitimate way to play dark souls. I'd say a great part of dark souls is you can beat any boss with any setup. To force a player to change their entire setup and playstyle just to fight a single boss when the rest of the game isn't that way tells me it's a bad boss.
@@mentalpopcorn2304 or maybe that's what makes it great: it forces you to adapt and reconsider your usual aproach, wich most bosses do to some degree. For example the Anor Londo duo forces you to consider how to position the camera to see all of the attacks, contrary to most other bosses where lock-on works fine enough.
Rng? Run along the inside with your shield up, smack the root, run to the other side the same.way, smack the other root, drop into the inner part you were just running around. You win. How is that rng?
The Covetous Demon actually does have a couple of interesting attacks that are indeed threatening. If you're standing next to his middle, he does a devastating roll attack that he can repeat quickly if you're still in the danger zone. He also has an attack he only uses at low health where he grabs you and swallows you. Then he spits you out with no equipment. No rings, no armour, no weapons, nothing. It's all still in your inventory, but it made for a cool moment the first time I beat it. Ended up having to spend the next minute punching the thing to death. Felt pretty satisfying at the time.
While I recognize that Micolash is a bad fight...I god damn love it. I love it in terms of lore, and his dying words are very gratifying, you've just destroyed his whole plan, that freaking nutcase.
I find it kind of funny how rabbid says that he doesn't think that anyone looks at micolash and say that that's how soulsborne bosses should be when Matthew Matosis has said in his "the lost souls art" video that Micolash is one of his favorite bosses in the game because they went for something different than "run in, dodge attacks, smack the boss, repeat until death." If you think he sounds crazy for saying such a thing, please go watch the video, he explains it way better than me, and he makes some really valid points.
I like the thumbnails but at the same time, they all feel really samey. Every time you post a new video and I see it in my recommend I always think youtube is showing me the previous video you uploaded at a first glance. They feel too minimalistic I suppose.
Yeah, but that bossfight basically says: "Great! You've reached the end game and learnt to use the mechanics of the game. Now throw all of it out of the window and exploit the AI as much as you can!" The game forces you to use the dodge mechanic (which is pretty bad because the developers wanted you to deflect attacks in Sekiro) and to constantly run under his legs without the lock on (in fact locking on just hinders you and it really shouldn't happen). Now that you're not using the lock on, you cannot see much of what the boss is doing because he's too big and you can pretty much only see his legs. Oh, did I mention it was one of those bossfights where you cannot deplete the boss's poise to deliver a killing blow? Yeah, we absolutely needed to get rid of another mechanic, making the fight even longer and boring. I liked the boss's design and what it represented, but the fight was just awful. I'd say it is up there with the Bull as tied for the worst bossfight in Sekiro
@@DXYS95 I agree that the camera is a massive issue on Demon of Hatred, but you don't have to unlock just to deal with it. Building posture is definitely pretty futile against him, but to me that still led to a rather enjoyable rythm, even though it is quite repetitive.
@@Eiroth Camera isn't an issue at all. The only fight in Fromsoftware history that has a camera issue is the minboss fight with Lone Shadow Longswordsman.
So. Does anyone go into a video called "Top 10 Worst Soulsborne Bosses" wondering "Hmm. I wonder what Number 1 is?" anymore? Cause if your answer is yes, either A) you're new to Soulsborne or B) stop lying.
Honestly I think there are plenty of bosses worse than Bed of Chaos in the souls series he's just the popular choice to shit on for being especially bad in what is otherwise a great game (well, for the most part).
I mean it’s up for debate on what you define as “the absolute worst”, do you define it as a boss that’s so laughably easy it’s not even a boss ? Or do you define it as a boss that’s legitimately the most unfair and cheapest out of all the rest ?
Funny thing about Micolash(idk how to spell it) is when he waits for you to jump from the ledge, you can kill him by spamming poison knives until he succumbs to the poison because he isnt programmed to run from damage, but from you being on his level
Covetous demon is slightly underwhelming, but it does have a cool mechanic, where it can take your armor and weapons and you have to beat the entire fight with your fists. This makes the fight a lot longer and slightly more difficult if it happens to you, so I think the developers intended for you to lose your equipment at the beginning.
That mechanic is made absolutely pointless once you realise that he doesn't actually take your stuff away, he just un-equips it. If he was more mobile this would be a problem, but because he moves at a fucking snail's pace, you can just run to edge of the arena and re-equip your things, or just your weapon if necessary.
The rat fight isn't so bad actually. If you look carefully around boss area you will find a red subscribe button which you can click if you like the content and want to receive notifications for every new Rabbidluigi video. So it's not a total waste of a boss fight.
Honestly the demons needed to be unique specific demons with interesting story elements, even if it's just Timm the Capra demon who was enamoured by the undead theives and took to being a mob boss, like it's not much but most demons kinda just lack something in the story elements which is sad since the few they do have is probably the most tragic of the series.
if the one reborn made it im kind of surprised at the lack of the witches of hemwick. being essentially a musty old crone that cant even attack in the first half of the fight and a bunch of enemy that are supposed to but may as well be blind because unless you are right in front of them they may as well not exist, at least the one reborn actualy fought back...
17:13 Covetous demon does have ONE interesting mechanic. Every once in a while, he may try to bite you and eat you, removing your equipment if it hits and you survive. Too bad the attack’s hitbox is so jank that you could stand in place and he would still miss.
I don’t think you should’ve put a boss from Sekiro here since it is so fundamentally different than Dark Souls (Even more than Bloodborne). I’m not saying it doesn’t have similarities with Dark Souls, because it does. I just don’t see it being similar enough to be considered a Souls game instead of a Souls-like game. Aside from that, I will agree with the boss you chose for it. It just feels like a boss idea that was scrapped from Dark Souls 3, which doesn’t have synergy with the gameplay of Sekiro at all.
I largely agree with this list. Yet you always should remember that in order for other bosses to stand out as well as different fighting experiences, these bosses still have their place. So I do like all of them in some way.
Pinwheel is not the boss of the Catacombs. The bonewheel skeletons are. Pinwheel is just the punching bag you take out your frustrations on afterwards.
Deacons of the Deep is a very fitting choice of music for a topic about bad Souls content. I still do not know how I had the patience for beating that boss without taking damage. Twice.
I know these kinds of "unpopular opinion" comments are a but overdone but every time I see a "worst soulsborne bosses" ranking list on youtube, Micolash is always on it. I certainly don't love his fight at all, but I certainly don't think it's the worst fight in Bloodborne, or even all that bad of a fight. The witches, celestial emissary, living failures, and Rom are all much worse in my opinion. Micolash is more middle of the road for me. I don't hate his fight by any means, but I don't love it either. It's a little to lengthy and so I get that people might get frustrated with that, but it doesn't take too terribly long if you know what you're doing.
I really disagree with putting the Demon of Hatred on this list. I get your logic but even if it feels out of place and a little unfair because of it, it’s nowhere near the worst boss in Sekiro and even if it was, it’s not in the top ten out of the whole series. How did the damn Witch of Hemwick not make it here, but he did? I could probably list 15 bosses that are worse than the Demon of Hatred.
I think Pinwheel was made baby easy because he guards the Rite of Kindling, which makes every part of the game easier. They didn't want it to be too hard to get your hands on I guess. I remember in my starting days playing Dark Souls 1 I imagined the fearsome trek it would take to get that coveted Rite. Another thing, Pinwheel has the 2nd lowest boss health in the game, only being higher than the ASYLUM DEMON. lol.
The funny thing is I saw this video after I finished bingeing Demodcracy's videos on the worst to best bosses in soulsborne. It was made before Sekiro tho
Back like one year ago I lost the fun playing on my pc so I bought an Xbox and started playing Dark Souls 3. Since then I completed all Souls Borne games inc Sekiro and even bought a PS4 just to play Bloodborne. Those games really captured the essence of being difficult for all the right reasons (most of the time). Great list dude
The only explanation I have is that the covetous demon is supposed to be pitiful. Like the true King Allant in Demon Souls. He's grown into a husk of what was once a man. If done with power, you get Aldrich. I done without strength, you get these pathetic wretches that just need to get put down
Ancient Wyvern melts to pestilent mercury. Didn't realize about the gimmick plunge until my 3rd playthrough. He can hardly hit you if you stand at his feet.
Plus the Capra demon is in an area that you can't even see until you get into that fog gate most of the bosses you either have a big area to fight in will you get to see the area beforehand so you can at least think of how the fights going to go
The Covetous demon actually has one attack to it that makes me very happy that it’s so easy to defeat. And in fact I think that might be one of the reasons why they made it so slow, it has a very very low chance of doing an attack where it swallows you. Now this On its own doesn’t do much damage, but when it spits you out it has ‘taken all of your armor’ I don’t remember if it takes your weapons too, because I personally never experienced this but I have seen videos of people talking about this surprisingly dick move. The worst of it is I think if you then die to it you never get your armor back.
Even if he does take your armor... To have a hard time and die to this guy I'd question as to how you got to that point of the game in the first place.
Mental Popcorn I know from experience that sometimes when you get to a boss you really aren’t exactly in peak condition to handle it. In dark souls 2 I was very surprised and happy I was able to take on that giant toad boss on the first try. Because I had only one Estus flask left no healing gems and I had a decent size chunk of my health taken out just waiting through the area before. Mainly because I was having trouble navigating through the slow moving water while trying to avoid the holes and deal with the clergy knights.
I don't think Demon of Hatred is a 'bad' fight but I can't argue that it feels like it belonged it a different Soulsborne game. The fight is interesting and a good final optional challenge but it does kind of play more like a Bloodborne fight than a Sekiro fight. Wasn't enough of a deal breaker for me as Sekiro remains my favorite From Soft game now.
How to do a list of the worst soulsborne Bosses: - Step 1: Put the bed of chaos at number 1. - Step 2: Work out the rest of the list according to which Bosses you enjoyed the least.
It's a real shame about the Bed of Chaos, since the backstory it's connected to is very unique and intriguing. The Witch of Izalith used the power of her own soul to feed The First Flame, a magic fire which brought a sense of peace to the world. The attempt caused a more violent flame which created demons. And at the core was The Bed of Chaos, the resting place for the fallen Lord... Aaaaaand sadly this resting place is a few springs short in its mattress, signified by the decaying maze of ruin you could outright die in which is likely given her attack range. You probably wouldn't be able to kill her if it didn't save your progress when you destroyed a core at one of the corners. You sadly wouldn't be able to burn the tree since she attacks with fire! We all knew who would be the number one pick. It was so bad that the director expressed embarrassment about how unfair it was. So no list of the worst bosses of the 2010s decade would be complete without her, to the point that TheDeModcracy put her on his own list. Praise the sun for Ludwig and Gael for helping balance things out.
I feel kind of bad for Pinwheel. Well I mean anyone that knows it's lore does too, but in this case I mean it's reputation. It's so weak because it was actually meant to be the first boss past the tutorial, but they changed it up to where you're meant to go through the Undead Burg before the Crypt, and they never rebalanced the boss.
Interesting, did the developers actually say that? They clearly did not want you to continue past the graveyard in the final build of the game, what with the skeletons being so difficult to take on initially, so I always found it odd that Pinwheel was that underpowered.
@@Beatstruck I found out secondhand (probably from VaatiVidya), so I don't remember the exact source material, but it was reliable. It turns out the Painted World was also the original starting area, and Priscilla was to act as DS's version of the Maiden in Black as your source of leveling up and such.
My least favorite bosses are probably the bonus bosses in DS2's lost crown trilogy. They're everything wrong with bosses in this series. Lazy reskins, gank fights, long and punishing hike back to them, and unfair difficulty.
The Bed Of Chaos on my first playthrough of the game was the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life of playing video games. Nothing has ever made me angrier. I literally threw myself at it for like 3-4 hours. The run back from either of the bonefires was so mind numbing. When I finally beat it I went and killed the last boss in one shot, probably 25 minutes, and turned my Playstation off for 3 weeks.
Im shocked you chose Royal Rat Vanguard over Prowling Magus and Congregation. Prowling Magus is the same concept there's just less of them and they're even less threatening because of it lol. To be honest, the majority of this list could have been from Dark Souls 2 but I completely understand why that wasn't the case.
Im surprised the deacons of the deep werent on here since anyone with a greatsword can mow them down like grass. Although they can curse you too and that has killed me before
@@deathserpent9747 Deacons is the only mob boss in the series I think is executed well, despite how easy it is. In terms of atmosphere and presentation it tops ALL of them, and the music is legitimately amazing. Plus, on NG+ onwards they do become an actual threat and can overwhelm you if you aren't careful
@@dannyboi5887 well yeah, they spam the fuck out them fireballs but i wouldnt say they became a threat just a little dickish. I do spam Dragonslayer Greataxe weapon art alot tho so maybe that made things easier. Friede definately becomes hard to kill tho cause she becomes tankier so i actually have to put in effort during her first phase.
Am I the only one that likes Micolash's boss fight? Or at least doesn't hate his running about? I find it to be a nice change of pace. The only thing I have against Micolash's fight is the final phase. The arena at that point is too barren, and it makes dealing with a call beyond extremely frustrating. Other than that, I actually like his fight.
Let me say it a little louder for people in the back SEKIRO IS NOT A SOULS GAME. Seriously stop comparing it to the series. Bloodborne is the only title close to being a souls game. Sekiro plays differently, has different progression, etc. It is not a soulslike.
In defense of Pinwheel I will point out that it is entirely possible to fight him as the second boss. More often then not you will fight him real late into the game and basically be massively over levels for him
It's not unexpected you kept the DS2 bosses to the end of the video because some bosses didn't have much time put into them. Personaly speaking, I think DS2 is a very good game unlike others who'll trash it to no end, and the rat king did give me some creeps with his furry bod and red eyes, but some bosses feel like quota fillers.
The Capra Demon was one of the hardest early game bosses for me on my first playthrough, but since then it's become one of the easiest in the game. Literally the only thing that makes it hard is the tiny area you fight it in, once you learn to deal with that it's basically just a normal enemy... which is exactly what it is later on.
It's kinda cool how the Souls series simultaneously has my favourite boss fight in any video game and my most hated boss fight of any video game. (Artorias and Rom respectively)
I think the reason Pinwheel is so weak, is because he is the boss of the Catacombs, which can be accessed pretty much as soon as you leave the tutorial area. So he could be the second boss you'll face in the game. The problem, of course, is that you would have to get through the catacombs first, which is hard as shit, so most players put it off until they gained some levels. And by that point they are completely outleveling Pinwheel. rip him
I don't like souls games but I do like a lot of games that have heavy influences of soulsgames like Dead Cells and Hollow Knight. The concepts in the game are great, the problem is that it just frustrates me too much (mostly because of the slow pace) and I don't have time to fully sink my time in it to improve, despite the quarantine rn. But Dead Cells is fire!
I do wonder what the conversation was for the Ancient Wyvern fight. Every other dragon fight before in Souls had been epic in scale, taking on a mythical being known for its destructive power. Yet they made it a one hit kill drop attack. I actually want to know the reason why they did that.
I've recently finished a randomizer run and one of the best things of it was not having to fight Bed of Chaos (I found Nito instead). However I had to fight Manus 5 times and Artorias 3 times... P.S. Pinwheel is easy, I agree, but differently from Covetous Demon, Pinwheel can be fought early in the game when it can kill you. Moreover it gives a very useful item, while Jabba gives you...?
It's so weird that some of the worst bosses are the most fascinating people. The Old Iron King, The Covetous Demon, Wolnir, The Rotten (and the Sunken King within them), the Bed of Chaos (and the Witch of Izalith within her), Ceaseless Discharge and Micolash especially. Even people like the Dragonriders and the Gank Squad. I would rather read about them than fight them. Also, Iwan Rheon would make an amazing Micolash.
Problem with pinwheel is that he seems to be scaled for a different level. He would feel better placed closer to being much earlier, like around gaping dragon. The enemies in his area however feel more like they should be placed around (before or after) annor londo.
It would be cool if they made like a reverse orstein and smough with the one reborn, like after he takes half of his health he splits in half with the part with his body on it stays in place and the back half chases you
Fairly certain Pinwheel is so easy because it's intended to be a (potentially) mid-game boss. Like obviously barely anyone does the Catacombs unless they've already beaten Anor Londo and are going all the way to Nito, but I think From Software intended people to be able to check it out early-ish and at least get the Rite of Kindling.
Hmm.. I guess this would be my top 10: 10. Duke's Dear Freja 9. The Skeleton Lords 8. Dragon God 7. Royal Rat Authority 6. Royal Rat Vanguard 5. Prowling Magus and Congregation 4. Afflicted Graverobber, Ancient Soldier Varg, and Cerah the Old Explorer 3. Lud and Zallen 2. Bed of Chaos 1. Ancient Dragon
I agree with most of these, but definitely not the demon of hatred. That was my favorite boss in Sekiro. While most bosses in Sekiro can be summed up as pressing L1 with the proper rhythm, bar a couple mixups. Sekiro has the fastest movement and the most movement options of any soulsborne character, and the demon of hatred actually makes use of it. It not only reminds you of just how fast Sekiro is and how powerful infinite stamina is, but it’s one of the only fights that actually forces the player to take advantage of Sekiro’s agility. I would’ve liked to see more fights like it. Sekiro went overboard on the deflect mechanic, and it was great to get a classic-feeling boss in there.
The reason Pinwheel is so easy is because it's supposed to be the second boss you face, & you're supposed to fight it very early on. However, you'll only fight it if you take a certain, easily overlooked path, so you'll more likely than not accidently massively overlevel yourself by the time you fight it.
I haven't played a single one of these games, and this video was still fun to watch. (Also pls remake old countdowns if the entries have changed drastically
I'm a pretty big weirdo who actually likes the horde bosses. I think they're a nice change of pace, and they're most present in DS2, where there are plenty of other 'normal' bosses. Admittedly, most horde bosses are not well designed. Rat Vanguard is just tons of the same enemy, and is more of a Where's Waldo game then a horde fight. And Deacons of the Deep are generally too non-threatening for it to feel good. But Prowling Magus and Congregation? That's actually a pretty good horde fight. You've got enemies who are paced slowly so they don't overwhelm you, with melee supporting casters. It's not a hard fight (pretty much non of the horde bosses are), but as a room of regular enemies set up to work together to an interesting confrontation? I like them. So I wouldn't list PM&C on a list of favorite bosses, but I do think they're a great change of pace. And I wish FromSoft tried to make more interesting (and more challenging) horde bosses. Maybe players would hate them less if they weren't marked as a boss fight. Just have more interesting enemy groups that don't just turn into a 'pile on the undead'. Oh, and I may like horde fights, but seriously, fuck dogs. In any game, but ESPECIALLY in the poise-less BB and DS3. Constant stun-spam those encounters, it's awful.
The One Reborn's death animation also causes SO much lag. I remember my game was literally running at 2 FPS for a full minute when it died. Hard disagree on Covetous Demon. He covet's Mytha, the Baneful Queen, has some sick lore behind him, and he can eat you and MAKE YOU NAKED. 10/10 boss.
As someone who is currently playing through Sekiro again, I personally think that the Blazing Bull fight is probably my least favourite. It's not particularly difficult and it has a weakness that is easy to exploit, but it honestly frustrates me for the same reason that Micolash does in Bloodborne in that you tend to spend more time chasing it around so that you can get a few hits in before it inevitably runs in another direction. It's just not a satisfying boss fight compared to every other boss in the game (yes, that includes Demon of Hatred for me). That and I really feel bad for the poor thing.
Man, I feel like the Capra Demon boss fight would've been so much better in a normal room. The dogs could still be there and it probably still could top what was actually put in the game.
15:20 - "The Ancient Wyvern cannot be fought directly." That isn't quite true. The first time I played through Dark Souls 3, I killed the Ancient Wyvern without using the plunging attack, instead hacking away at him as soon as he landed. As I quickly learned, his head has less defense than his feet, so I just figured I had to wait for the right openings to attack his head. I did just barely enough damage with that method for the alarm bells not to go off in my brain that something was wrong about my technique. Overall, he was still a pretty easy fight that way (although long), and I'm certain the enemies on the route up to the plunge spot gave me more trouble on subsequent playthroughs than that initial fight did. On that note, I also did the same thing with Yhorm the Giant, meaning I fought him with my regular weapon on the first playthrough since I was too focused on the boss himself to even notice the Storm Ruler at the end of the room. Once again, the alarm bells didn't go off because I did barely enough damage for me not to question it; I just assumed he was resistant to physical damage. Additionally, I also killed Wolnir on the first run without attacking his glowing bracelets, since I just assumed they were for decoration rather than being weak points. I guess I can be an idiot sometimes, haha. Final comment: I enjoyed the video, but I strongly disagree with Demon of Hatred being on the list, as he's a tough and engaging fight despite requiring a different playstyle than most of the Sekiro bosses. In my opinion, fighting him is more fun than literally ANY Dark Souls 2 boss (not including the DLC; I haven't played it).
Jokes aside, Bed of Chaos is not only awful but also a massive disappointment in how it wastes both a badass design and a tent pole encounter. I mean, it’s always going to be what they chose for the fight with the Witch of Izalith.
