This is an excellent video, portraying the best of Huntsville! Great job again! Hunstville is such a pleasantly surprising city with so much to offer. Definitely recommend a trip there!
One last thing.... There are at least 3 "trails" that are so cool - Craft Beer - Craft Coffee Houses and a Cocktail Trail that showcase the various local establishments in town.
Kayaking the flint river, google The NACK, Hays Nature Preserve, the neighborhood of Providence, Grandmas House Restaurant, Bullets and Barrels ..... just a few :)
Green Mountain Trail is really good to go here. A lot of older people go there and try to stay away from Downtown cause of the traffic. Traffic can be bad. Maple Hill Cemetery is the largest in North Alabama. We have a Cemetery Walk every year. You get to hear the tales about the famous people who are buried there, plus the famous cow, Lily Flagg. Also, Dead Children's Playground is next to it. You might see a ghost or two. Since you LOVE water so much, I hope you stop in Gadsden, AL. Go to Noccalula Falls after it rains so you can see the full effect. Anniston, AL has a great museum. Anniston Museum of Natural History has the largest bird collection in the State.
Consider putting the street address of each location into the video. Consider using an overview map in your video to show where the locations are, and providing info on a suggested order of visitation. Consider putting a link to each location in the comment below. Consider less of you (God Lord...) and more on useful info, like pricing, when locations are open, etc. Cut the length in half.
That's a good idea, that's for the suggestion and for watching. If you check out the corresponding blog post, I share links to a lot of stuff to make your planning easier. mikesroadtrip.com/the-one-thing-in-huntsville-alabama/
Wow, didn’t know there was so much to do in Huntsville. Alabama is a beautiful state. I’m definitely adding Huntsville to my itinerary on my next trip to Bama. Thanks, Mike.
What a great video. Who knew the wonderful things Huntsville offers. I can always count on you for amazing insights and information. Public television is missing out on what a gem you are!
I live in Huntsville now. I am from Michigan. If you want to see beautiful water go to St Joseph Michigan. I like Huntsville because of the warmth, and no snow. isnt that odd.
Wow, quite a move. I have spent time in Traverse City, but that and Detroit are the only places in MI I have been. I think Huntsville must be a great place to live, so much going on there. Thanks so much for watching, hope you enjoyed. Cheers, Mike & Miha
Piper Leaf? BBQ? Historical Train Depot? Oldest Hardware Store? Early Works Museum? Old town down historical buildings with re enactments? Most Haunted Grave Yard? Maple Hill? Looking for something to do when visiting in September of 21.
Totally love those little creeks and had you gone further on some trails you could have seen some waterfalls. I hike that area often. My one thing is the same as your Mike: the S&R Center!
So nice to hear someone else enjoys them as much as I do. ;-) We did see a pretty nice waterfall at Monte Sano. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers, Mike
We just love your videos! Huntsville looks like a very cool place to visit. BTW, really good choice of music for each segment too. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Georgiana! 🙏 Oh, we have so many videos we're working on...really behind. Thanks for watching and following along. Hope all is well. Cheers, Mike
Oh, you are so lucky to live there, Huntsville really is a magical place. Agreed, Big Springs Park is wonderful place. Thank you for watching, and, for sharing your tops things to do in town. Cheers, Mike & Miha.
Hey John...you sure are lucky, Monte Sano is a wonderful park. Thanks so much for watching. Hope you subscribed for more road trip travel videos. Cheers, Mike
As a fellow Pisces, I enjoy the creeks, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and even the rain in Huntsville. BTW Monte Sano mountain is pronounced Mon tee Say no. Thanks for noticing the cleanliness - the City has a 'Green Team' responsible for landscaping and maintenance. Next time you visit, I recommend hiking some Land Trust trails, especially the Wildflower Trail in season (5 minutes from downtown). Also, the Von Braun Astronomical Society hosts Saturday nights at their planetarium on Monte Sano (not now with COVID, but in the before times), usually featuring presentations by NASA employees and telescope viewing (weather permitting).
Watching this a year later, you were right in saying that the city will be more exciting. Every empty plot of land in downtown has plans to build a new mixed-use space or hotel. The skyline will be completely different in 2 years
