I was wondering about that, after a roll back do you have option of getting off the ride if you wanted to?

@@Nx553 Then why is everyone else on the ride chill and enjoying it. Society sets the range for 'normal'. So if everyone on that ride is acting a certain way, or within reason to one another, but his reaction is above and beyond the rest, he is thus "over reacting". Anyone sitting next to him or near him, especially me, could and should be pissed off. I find it hard to enjoy a ride when you have that 1 person 'excessively' yelling, screaming, or being abnormally loud and hurting my ears and taking away from the enjoyment and I think most people agree. This dude was annoying ass fuck. And all those people that had the luck of getting 2 rollbacks now have the experience ruined by some asshole that wants to look cool for the camera.

Happened to me when I went in May of 2018. Rolled back twice while my gf and I went on it again on our second day of visiting right around when Steel Vengeance opened up. Unfortunately the lines for Vengeance were extremely long (8-12 hour wait times) we did enjoy every other ride with a fast pass though.

There's a good chance they're doing it earlier in the day, from what I've heard, when they start up the ride, the computers need to calibrate themselves to give _just_ enough speed to go over the top. It's especially tricky since the required speed varies depending on their weight. Odds are that the computer was still calibrating when they rode it.

Unlike kingda ka, rollbacks on top thrill dragster are common. There are at least three to four rollbacks on dragster a day. But it is rare to get two in a row.

Try riding first thing in the morning on a cold day. When coaster rails are cold, it's much more likely to rollback.

Chef T313 I've been to Cedar Point so many times and I have never ridden this ride. Every time I go there, It's always been closed or too long of a line. Just my luck.

@@greycarton Lol this type of ride wasn't in the Roller Coaster Tycoon games until the 3rd one. Naturally being a 20 year old computer game, tragedy often struck when coaster trains collided and such. Top Thrill Dragster is 100% designed for rollbacks because it has to be. They are more common in the cold weather or early in the morning, especially when the trains don't have many riders. The lack of momentum sometimes isn't enough to go over the top hat. That's why all of those brakes go down before the launch, they are there to slow down the train in the case of a rollback so they pop back up after the train clears the launch track. If it happens, the system resets and relaunches the train a little bit faster to help it clear the top hat. Having it happen twice in a row like this is rare though and it looks like a cold day based on their coats! This coaster is basically "too safe" with all of it's sensors which is why it sees a good amount of down time. So no worries, a rollback is cool because you get to experience the launch again let alone go backwards down the tower. Most people don't get to experience that.

@@snoopjunk6035 If so, that's pretty dumb. You get a launch each time, along with an up and backwards down, as opposed to a forward down. The roll back experience is an equal or better ride experience than the actual ride. AND you go again. In this case three times.

@@duderRechthat Actually more weight gives it more momentum and helps it make it over the top. In fact, there's a "launch boost" function that must be used when launching it empty, to keep it from rolling back.

IIRC it has 2 block sections outside the station, one after brake run and one before station, don't quote me but it does have at least one section that is from launch to after coming back down.

@@greycarton It has been known to get stuck at the top, and they have a really high tech solution for when it happens. Someone climbs the maintenance ladder to the top and gives the coaster a good hard shove. I'm not making this up, they really do. 🤣

I have seen it happen when its been windy! I was so close and was next on to get a roll back myself but management came over and closed the ride after multiple attempts of it not making it over.

Definitely. Rollbacks are _extremely_ rare as it is, but a double rollback? I'm pretty sure that's never even happened before. And it just happened to be right when they had cameras all over the ride? Very suspicious. Not to mention, the second time they rolled back, the train didn't even come close to making it over the hill. I've never seen a rollback like that.
