imo it was never about the speed necessarily but rather the wicked acceleration up to that speed, so i’ll always prefer OG dragster but i can understand if you prefer this better and i completely understand why they updated it
@@hstorm218 i have yet to ride but i feel like that third launch is gonna feel way faster than it is after coming down the spike. i'll miss OG dragster but this is the refresh ive been asking for for years now. cant wait to ride
Sometimes it did do a rollback. You def would’ve had to have gotten lucky though to ever get a rollback (I unfortunately never got one 😞). This iteration def looks like it’s more fun for sure, but I gotta admit I’m going to miss that cable launch there’s nothing out there to compare to that feeling of getting launched so quick and hard from stand still 🤷♂️. This looks like it’s going to be absolutely fast just not sure it’s going to have that same feeling of 0-115mph that the original version had. At least this version of the ride is longer and worthy of the wait time vs the original.

Earrings and glasses!! Glasses flying off a rider could be deadly to someone on the ground! Y'all must have a death wish just going near something like that. Nothing is absolutely safe! Someone will get hurt this year but it will definitely not be me.
I dont know this looks amazing but what all these youtubers forget to include is the ride wait time. As a normal person that doesnt get instant access to front row seating see it as a " yes that seems fun....but is it really worth me waiting 4 hours in line for a ride that lasts 25 seconds???? I'd rather go ride kingda ca or even storm runner at hershey park cuz at least Iknow I wont spend 80 bucks to wait in line all day and still get something similar to the that feeling

Crazy airtime over the top hat! Fist launch looks pretty lame, but going backwards at 100mph into that huge spike, and then going super fast for the whole length of the launch track looks dope. Also, the seats being a little higher makes the twists a lot stronger.
Today (4/25/2024) was Media Day, where news outlets were specifically invited to ride before opening day and film it. As all the camera angles seem pretty similar, I'd guess the park added a camera mount on the nose of the train themselves.
To answer the question “why does it look rough” because the trains have weight much higher up than the originals did and thus such motions are amplified.
@@guyt6244 I think you mean lower? I know for a fact the Zamperla trains are much lighter than the Intamin trains. But yeah I suspected that some of the movement was due to the lighter trains
Because the seats are higher off of the track (heart line be damned) and the over the shoulder lap bar mechanics adds weight to the top of the (yes, lighter) trains.
Yeah this rides great when it’s running. I just can already tell that Top thrill 2 will be shut down half of the time due to mechanical issues. It’s only been three weeks since cedar points been open and this rides already down due to mechanical issues. This is clearly not fair for people who already payed in advance for rooms and tickets in hopes to ride the new Top Thrill 2.
Love the ride and the diversity of the people invited to attend before the park officially opens. This is about the 10th video I have seen today and it really stands out.
I'm sure people have not forgotten what happened to that lady. But the ride has reopened so people will obviously ride it, regardless on a previous injury to someone.
With the switch track they can have a loaded car waiting for the other to go while they unload/load the other cars. It will still be a lesser capacity than other rides due to the design, but will be way better than before hopefully.
@@TommonSensePro Dragster was 1080 riders an hour, this is listed as 1000 on Zamperla's website but is realistically much longer given the cycle times in everyone's videos they've been posting. so it's going to be AWFUL capacity. no thanks, i'll ride something else.
Still can't understand why during the rebuild that they didn't add the extra 35 feet to the top to take back the tallest coaster record, and to also add a hump(like it's twin), or corkscrew instead of the final straightaway. 🤷🏾♂️

Lol the cope comments have already begun. The allure of the original was the absolute gut punch of a launch. Now they’ve butchered it into a taller wicked twister. Still fun of course, but will never live up to the original.
@@trevor852 Well said...(great Wicked Twister comparison)...it will always be fun to go 120mph over a 420 foot top hat. But Dragster went 0-120 in the 3 second range. TT2 doesn't get up to 120 for over 20 seconds which was longer than Dragster's entire ride. TT2 cradles you up to speed, Dragster shot you out of a canon.
@@Rev1216 very well said... if you want similar acceleration G forces, Storm Runner at Hershey Park is nearly identical to Dragster's force. it's not as long of a launch, but it really gives you that gut punch.
I've been a season pass holder for multiple years. I didn't get an invite to ride this early, but these people are taking their third ride already WTF.
It is part of media day I believe. I have been a passholder for 15 years and have never gotten an invite. They are having preview days coming up you may be able to sign up for to be able to ride before other passholders. I purchased a charity ticket to ride this Sunday.
