Could have been that if the ntc sensors readings were ok that they just needed some heat paste on them as they don't work correctly with out it

Perfectly legal to work on your own boiler if you are competent!
@andyxox4168
@andyxox4168 2 года назад
@FrancisXGomes no, competent in law does not mean you need a gas safe certificate and under the legislation you can work on your own boiler, you just can’t accept payment for work .. you need to understand the law!

I used to just pop a new NTC out pocket to test but this gives a better simulation. I guess that the clip on NTC have a similar ohms range?

Interesting to know how far out of tolerance a thermistor has to be before it no longer fit for purpose. ? Does the measured resistance change slowly over time ? I guess measuring thermistor resistance during successive annual services would give some clues - if anyone had the patience, time, and money.

I have a pack of resistors with known values that you can simulate the ntc. Just plug into socket.
@HeatingGeek
@HeatingGeek 5 лет назад
Thats ok if you have them. This will actually read temperature and feed it back to the PCB .
@faridratni6799

I can see that under the boiler you connect the ntc to hot water but please how did you connect the rest of the cable for give me as I said I am gas engineer now but no experience about fault finding Thanks ones again

@Falco45able
@Falco45able 4 года назад
A bit late but you could use a variable resister, potentiometer in the right range 20k maybe, instead of the ntc and adjust it to simulate the ntc reading, could work with any boiler, 😉 always interesting!
@HeatingGeek
@HeatingGeek 4 года назад
I could, but I have 10-12k NTCs on my van and 90% of new boilers use them. Keeps it simple. Also I can actually use the NTC to control the boiler. :-)

Wish you lived near me, I got a Glowworm electronic 80e pump constantly running no demand pcb burnt out, changed it. Still no good heating won’t work. When it finally came on (think there lose connection as when I shut case it sometimes fires) the heating kicks out after 3 min!
@HeatingGeek
@HeatingGeek 5 лет назад
Glowworm electronic? Compact?
@charliesebbage9401
@charliesebbage9401 5 лет назад
Yeah it’s the compact! Would make a great boiler for a video! Starting to think it’s the integral clock or possibly diverter valve as hot water working fine! Fancy a visit?!

so you are bascially temprarily replacing the ntc's with your own test ones? If the fault is gone then you know the ntc's need replaced (I am a new engineer, excuse the ignorance)

Nice tip mate What ntc selection would you advise too get,too carry on the van ?
@HeatingGeek
@HeatingGeek 6 лет назад
I carry generic NTC's 10-12k red blue white green black. I always have a couple of Ferroli and Ideal/Biasi/Ariston. It depends what you see but I don't want to have to revisit for an NTC!

HeatingGeek thanks for replying. Do you need to shut off water and drain the system before changing it then?
@HeatingGeek
@HeatingGeek 4 года назад
@@zendenball From your questions I don't think you are gassafe registered. There are more than one NTC on a boiler and depending which you are replacing there will be a different method. I strongly suggest you get a gassafe engineer to come and replace the part so the boiler will get 26.9 checks afterwards.
