If you are in a TN1 Visa, then your employer decided to sponsor you for a green card, but your TN1 expired before your green card has been approved. You then move back to Canada, can your green card application be moved to consular processing and still proceed? assuming that your employer is still willing to sponsor you for a green card.

can you switch from B1/B2 as a Canadian to TN from within US?

Yes, as a general matter it is possible to apply for a change of status from B1/B2 to TN provided that all eligibility criteria are met. Please ensure to consult the advice of an attorney to look at the specific facts of your case and determine if you would be eligible for such a change of status.

Can you go to the border or designated entry point and get your TN Visa without immediately entering the US. I don't really want to buy a plane ticket before knowing i have the TN visa.
