@@GabrielVIP Agreed it is a lot of personal preference but is fun to play around with, just seen the footage on computer, and wow the difference to my s22 ultra is crazy! This and with also grabbing the hollyland lark m1's such a difference. autofocus is working great with the settings you mentioned. This video was transformative for me, and I'm sure others. Now, may I suggest you make a similar one for audio post production settings. In my video podcast workflow I record good, clean audio on a field recorder (Zoom Podtrak P4), but I really don't understand eq, compression and other sweeteners or how to apply them. I can do all this in Premiere, but I seldom do because I don't know how.

When you increase the ISO, it doesn't matter, more noise will be added to the image. But the question is: Why do you need to increase the ISO if you have enough light? Increase the ISO if you don't have enough light to increase the exposure. If you have light, you don't need to do that. Also, in photography is different. You can work also with shutter speed. You don't need to keep it double than the frame rate since you have one single frame. This will also influence the exposure.

Hello! Glad you like it! Yes! Expose the same :) But keep in mind that this is not an exact science. You can go lower if you like it like that. Most of the time I expose at 70 to have a good exposure and at the editing if I want to lower the exposure a little bit it will look perfect.

I love that you used the Sony ZV-E10 for this as that's my camera. I haven't tried all the manual settings yet as the menus are so BIG it's intimidating. I've been letting it go all auto for now when we do our podcast and it's pretty good on its own. But I'm going to follow this and see if there's much difference when in manual. For me, the camera is a little farther than how you have it and I can't reach it while sitting so I'm not sure how I'll keep adjusting settings when I have lean forward out of my seat to change them ..🤔

Hey bro. I used ZV-E10 because is popular :) You can try and see if you like it. At the beginning looks intimidating but it's easy :) If your camera is fac away, make a small change, go and check, do it again :) Or use the smartphone app and change settings from the phone. 100% you can find a way to make the settings until you find the sweet spot for you :)

And my camera is just out of arms reach so I suppose I could try a setting and then sit back down to see....it's just I have to get up and walk around my desk to the back to access the camera! Side question, do you have any experience using the camlink 4k? I'm using a cheap knock off to stream from the Sony but some people say the camlink gets better image quality... not sure it's worth the upgrade for $150 here in Canada

@sibertiger17 Yes, you can go to the camera, and sit back and check. Step by step you are about to set the camera fast :) I use Elgato Camlink 4k. In my experience is the best quality on HDMI. I have Blackmagic ATEM and Camlink 4K. When it comes to quality, is excelent. The problem is if you stream 😂 RU-vid or other platform will compress your videos and still lose some quality.

Hello Gabriel! What software do you use to edit your talking head videos? After seeing your videos, I just bought a ZV-E10, Sigma 16mm F1.4 lens, and separately bought an SM7B and Rodecaster Pro II to record my audio. I've never edited video before, so I'm curious what you suggest. I heard you mention Davinci Resolve before, do you think that's where I should start? Thank you in advance Gabriel!

Hey bro. Congratulations for you equipment :) I use Davinci Resolve and I think is perfect. To learn from the beginning a pro software is the best thing you can do. Is not complicated, just follow some tutorials and have patience with the editing part. Step by step, you will get amazing results :)

That's a kit lens. You can use it with any camera. Usually, you need to choose a lens for your setup not a setup for your lens. It depends on what you want to do but for talking head videos, a ZV-E10 it's great.

Hello. Hard to recommend if I don't know the size of the room, the. distance between the subject and the camera and how tall is the subject :)) For indoor, full body, most of the time I use wide lenses. Sigma 16mm f1.4 on crop will do the job perfect in my opinion.

I tried following these instructions with a 50mm/f1.8 lens (as recommended by other videos for talking head videos) but couldn't get far enough away from the camera. I am also trying to use a teleprompter, so I need the camera close enough to read the prompter. Is this just the wrong lens?

Yes! When I show you something shoot with ZV-E10 is always with PP OFF. In this video where you see me with the ZV-E10 in my hand, that image is shot with A7SIII, also with PP OFF. You can watch my latest 10-15 videos, all are made with ZV-E10 with PP OFF. I shot with other camera just when I need to show the ZV-E10.

I found it difficult to set up the correct settings when I record b-rolls, so many short shots in different places in my home office or kitchen and then I do like 1 reel for Instagram. So I always had auto mode for everything because setting up new settings in every 5 seconds it's difficult. But I have a question - how would yo recommend to record in the opposite side to the window? This is how my desk is placed so most of my shots are on opposite sides to the window and also my window doesn't give me too much natural light. I tried to close the blinds and turn on the softbox, but my footage looked too digital, too sharp, and grainy...

Hey! Indeed, shooting B-ROLL, changing the place all the time, and adjusting the settings all the time is hard work, but... for the best image... we need to hard work. It's hard for me to advise you if I don't see the space and the light. But seems like you need a more difuze light if it looks digital. Or try to bounce the light from a wall. That will be softened. I changed so many times the position of my desk because the light didn't look good. Maybe you find another place to put the desk. The key is to try various places to find the best one.

I've invested some money in equipment so would like to achieve it with this what I have and also my office is small there is no any option to move around the desk so maybe it's just my skills problem🫣

Hello. For my talking head videos, no. It’s a single frame with good lighting and I don’t need a picture profile. If I shoot for a client, shoots where I need a high dinamic rande I use Slog3 but for youtube, 90% of the time I don’t use one.

Also, I am not seeing how to change the F setting. Using the dial, I can change the shutter speed, frame rate, and ISO, but I can't get it to adjust the F.

@@GabrielVIP I missed this in the video. I now see that you change the F using the black wheel on top of the camera, not the wheel on the back of the camera. I missed that on several passes through and kept looking for the F control on the back dial. I am trying to figure out how to use a Sony FE 50mm F1.8 lens for talking head videos for an online course. I have a 12x12 office, but it opens into my dining room, so I have space to get more distance.
