Topamax or topiramate is FDA approved for prevention of migraine headaches and treatment of partial or generalized epilepsy. Many doctors prescribe Topamax for a variety of off label indications including diabetic neuropathy, chronic low back pain, alcohol and cocaine dependence, bipolar disorder and PTSD. Combined with phentermine, Topamax may assist in attempts to lose weight.
