He said 10mm vertical error per km from the GPS base station (not the radio or mobile comm tower). Thats what I have seen too from other sources. Great to hear it from someone else and in such a clear way. RTK GPS spec sheets say 1 or 2mm/km from GPS base station which maybe true for horizontal accuracy but is bullcrap for vertical accuracy.
Mate are you able to put together some video for Trainee Surveyors or on how to use the Topcon GPS and Trimble Total Stations together and how to use each one of them.

So just a question, the top con connects to the Telstra tower or base station and then from there connecting to the satellites, so if you were closer to the base station the accuracy would be much better. I’m assuming that’s how it works, your mushrooms connect to the tower and then from the tower connects to the satellites and then triangulates you’re exact location??
