There will be enough fluid in the reservoir to cater for brake pad wear and keep it within the limits (assuming no other problems) when you fit new pads, it will return to its upper limit.

Should have rinsed with water. Brake fluid is hygroscopic so it degrades with exposure to water. By the way you seemed to be fine with the oil level, but at least you’re checking.

@@midlife-crysisI would rinse anywhere you think fluid might have gotten. Brake fluid is corrosive as hell so just be careful and use lots of water to rinse clean.

I think you’re over thinking it. Just relax and don’t be so pedantic. At or below the line when the bike is off the side stand, fill. The real question is: it’s a new bike, correct? Why are you or where are you loosing fluid? That should be more of the question.

from what i gather is that as the brake pads are worn in, the fluid drops a bit. and something about the fluid absorbs air or something like that so it goes down normally over the course of a year
