My dad introduced me to the absolute brilliance that is Gerry Rafferty when I was just a kid. I listen to him daily. This is one of my favourite songs. The journey his songs take you on...my heart aches that he left us so early in his life. I get it, tho. I've delved onto all the works that are available. He plays in my life all the time and I am utterly floored at his exceptional music. Thank you, Dave the Hedgehog. Gerry will never be forgotten in my heart, soul, and bones.

The epitome of why I love Rafferty! Every song he has is filled with solid vocals, embodies the perfect example of an epic jam session, and always tells a great story. I’m new to his music, but I’ve yet to find a song of his that I’ve not wanted to sit and listen to over and over! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Wow.im 58 now.won this album and breakfast in America on wls radio.that started my rock n roll life.i still have those albums to this day.gerry was great.miss you.

The video shows Hugh Murphy on harmonica, but it was actually Paul Jones (ex Manfred Mann singer) who played on the original recording.

Looks like someone put a big old concert style tremelo harp in Hugh's hands and said fake it...a harp which would never bend notes like that. Most likely a Hohner Marine band ten hole diatonic was played by Paul Jones...your workman harp of the time.

I’m 66 this year. Back when City to City, the album, was advice someone whispered in my ear, as a must listen to piece of work, maybe ‘78, I fell in love with that LP. I just purchased a CD and have jammed in my car to it. I read that during recording, everyone left their desks to listen in to this musical genius. Gone waaayyy to soon. Goodnight Gerry😘
