I rather clarify about this to all who are confusing why this video used the same set like the other artists in this TopPop channel? This version is neither the official music video nor a remake version. This is a recorded TV show aired in 1982 by the music program in Netherlands, "AVRO Top Pop", the same music show just like Top Of The Pops in UK and Solid Gold in USA. Their studios has many stage sets including this one, so don't be surprise if you find other singers or groups that used the same sets on this channel. Well, that's the TV show! 😊

I really like this song at the moment. Listen to it all the time. I find it amazing that it appears the same set was used for "I only want to be with you" by Nicolette. Brings a smile to my face.

Of course this is the same set used by the other artists because this video is the recorded TV show AVRO Top Pop, the music TV show in Netherlands, almost like Top Of The Pops in UK. The original music video is different, can be found on the other channels.

G G Because this is the studio set from the TopPop TV show in Netherlands, so the set might also be used for other artists. You know Top Of The Pops in UK? Well, this is the similar Top 10 chart show but in Europe, in Holland.

Lip syncing and dancing around is so goofy-wrong. Ronstadt stood and sang, period. That sound comes from a voice getting everything into a mic.

What is going on here? The "other" version which I saw for the first time on YT is better in every way so why bother re-doing it? (Unless this is the first version) Even the "same" dress looks bad here with that "pot belly". Now I wish I hadn't seen this as it taints the other one.

And Penzance ran for 787 performances (almost two years) and won a Tony award. The play was so successful, they made a movie of it -- and screwed up the marketing of the movie by releasing it simultaneously on television so it was boycotted by movie theater owners and bombed.

This is a terrible song, and even Linda herself admits that in her autobiography. She dismisses it as helping to make the payments on the Malibu house. It was this pablum that moved her in the direction of the Nelson Riddle standards. She had had enough of this bullshit pop.

Yup. But this song was nominated in the 1983 grammys although not won, but what I like in this song is the odd rhythms.

The tune's better than anything either of us probably could do. Wasn't one of her biggest hits...top 30 if I recall correctly but it's in 7/4 time signiature...like "Money" by Pink Floyd. She never left the "Pop"...what was "Don't Know Much" with Aaron Neville? In the video she even (gasp!) dared to look longingly in his eyes...perish the tin pan alley thought of it all! One's trash is another's treasure.
