Niccolo Canepa and Toprak riding together during the Yamaha Racing Experience 2023 in Mugello. The bikes are standard R1M equipped with Bridgestone V02 Slick tires. Best lap 1:53.8
This is probably the best & most realistic onboard footage I’ve ever seen. Super sharp, zero shaking, and it delivers the sense of speed perfectly. Wish we got these kind of onboards for the actual races
@@gravitystormgaming6836 because recording and post processing footage is how it looks this good, trying to feed this footage live would be next to impossible. not to mention racing rules dont allow any helmet mounted devices because they reduce the effectiveness of the helmet during a crash
@@bossmoderhino6109you’ll almost never be allowed on track with a helmet mounted camera because it could interfere with the helmets function (since it wasn’t designed to have a big dingus camera on the chin when it was made) in a crash. Every track day I’ve been to they’ve said no helmet mounted cameras in the riders meeting. I suspect because these guys are pros they’re allowed to film with helmet cams on open track laps but in a race where crashes are likely no way unless the camera is integrated into the helmet design that’s why we’ve got shoulder cam in MotoGP much easier to pop that in without interfering with the suit’s function.
@@bossmoderhino6109 any chance you have an idea of what cam or settings are being used in this video? has a sense of speed i dont get from many onboard videos
For those wondering...Nicolo Canepa (from Wikipedia) He raced in MotoGP full-time for Pramac Ducati in 2009 with little success, and made an uncompetitive start in Moto2. He moved back to the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup in 2011, and after a season in the Superbike World Championship in 2012, returned to Superstock 1000 in 2013 and became runner up behind Sylvain Barrier. Canepa moved in 2016 to the World Endurance Championship riding the Factory GMT94 Yamaha R1. He ended the season in second place. In 2017 Canepa won the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC). He is the first Italian in history to win an Endurance World Championship. He is also the Yamaha Superbike Factory Team test rider and replacement rider. He is also coaching Alex Lowes and Michael Van Der Mark during the Superbike World Championship.
@@opje-gn4nylmao that backwards religion still stood the test of time. But don't see how you brought religion in a pretty innocent comment. Mr forward thinker. 😂
@@snakeies66definitely under rated. To keep up with and pass toprak is not something to scoff at. Even if toprak wasnt on his race bike. This didnt look like he took it easy
@@hasanicahyadi9100 sometime even canepa is train toprak and do the test riding for him. because canepa is test rider for yamaha europe and WSBK team. maybe you'll find him hang out in yamaha WSBK garage reading the telemetri with toprak and locatelli race engineer
I get what you're saying, but these are completely useless for anyone who isn't at the brink of being a world class talent. Completely different tier of skill. 🥲
@@filipbunalti You are absolutely right, it’s useless for somebody that is just starting, you have to be on a certain level for sure to be able to pick up useful details
as a rookie, you can learn here that it doesent matter how fast you think you are taking that corner or how late you think you are breaking, you are too slow and you should brake later and accelerate sooner :D
No matter how late Canepa is on the brakes at the main straight, Toprak still brakes just a little later....and STILL hits a tight apex and drives out faster 😮 Mad skills both of them!
You and Toprak made a clear example of how big is the gap overall between non racers vs legit racers... love the footage... you guys are on a different level...
The quality of the footage is mindblowing! As a rider who tries to capture the perfect audio and sense of speed, this is what we all aspire to. Also, so cool to see: 1) how much later toprak brakes; 2) how toprak takes a much more "V" shaped line through a lot of the corner...late braking into the apex, on the power - get the bike as vertical as possible, straight shot out of the corner. Canepa is damn fast though, crazy speed all around!
9:36 that overtake similar between Toprak and Bautista at the little wsbk2023 most race 2 (8th lap).Toprak always showing his amazing talent at races.👑🔥
@@goferekpl3183 He is now with Insta and it is so jittery and not as smooth by comparison. I myself have the camera and it seems to suffer with nd filters even in light
Best example of trail braking and body position (when to move your ass for each corner and during the straights) one will ever get. Thanks for the demonstration...this video is pure gold.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Incredible footage. Toprak is a monster, he’s like a Rossi w the smoothness of Lorenzo. Canepa is a beast for being able to hang with him and record this incredible footage. Eleven minutes flew by so fast wow. 👏🏽
Hands up! This is the best onboard video on the whole internet... How does Toprak brake so late? And drifting on two wheels!! You were chasing him and battling even though he seemed to have some more HP on that thing (You said Standard R1M but it felt like it), that was incredible mate, thanks for sharing, i can't even remember when was the last time i watched a full video
Amazing Nico you really did well keeping with Toprak, could see you were keeping higher corner speeds than he was and the wider line theough the last corner allowed you to get a run on him down the fron straight.
Do you really not understand that the bikes in this video are different? Of course, I accept you as a rider. If you are not a rider it is normal that you cannot understand@@TheWaserExpress
@@gloriousmka9818 What exactly beside the start/stopp button seems modified to you? Do you think they race the 8 hours of Suzuka with the indicator switches?
@@gloriousmka9818 the other videos show his race bike, this is clearly the stock one, both of them. "I accept you as a rider" lmfao what dows that even mean :D
After witnessing each thrilling straight, I was initially taken aback by how late the breaking points seemed, and I couldn't help but wonder if they would miss the apex. However, much to my amazement, these true elite riders not only kissed the apex with precision but also soared out of the corner with incredible finesse. Witnessing such skill and daring on the motorcycles truly cements their status as legendary riders. What an awe-inspiring display!
Ipnotizzante!
What the... is going on here?!?! This looks so insene... a perfect match between these guys. And a great onoboard view. And this with an Stock R1M... Thumps up!!!
3:36 how Toprak difts out the rear and recovers it without highsiding is a masterful display of balance, situational awareness and throttle control. Outstanding ❤
Wow, what a scintillating video. One of the best pov videos ever!! 2 exceptional talented pilots show casing what the Yamaha R1M is really capable of around the fast, flowing Mugello circuit. Absolutely mind blowing! Thank you :)
What a beautiful on board footage, Niccolo!! You guys are from another planet! Do you mind sharing what camera you are using and settings? Thanks for the learning!
Being able to watch a rider like Toprak on a machine with a brake light is truly fascinating. I will probably watch this video 10+ more times. This on board is the best I've seen. Now if only WSBK and MotoGP would allow riders to have Go-Pros attached to their helmet's chin bars!
Absolutely amazing, i have watched this over 5 times already. It's fascinating to see the late braking by Toprack from another riders perspective. AMAZING
Most people can’t out ride their stock equipment lol I left my r1 stock until I started warping stock rotors, older r1 not current gen but still amazing when you just focus on you and not what fancy parts you have lol
@@elifelif777 It's still a stock bike, the R1M, definitely not a race bike. If I may elaborate...it has absolutely nothing to do with a WSBK-spec bike for example. There was a WSBK test at Portimao this year, and lot of the MotoGP riders were there testing on stock bikes with slicks on, and they were around 4 seconds off the pace of the best factory WSBK bikes. I know that the idea that you can buy " almost " the same bike that the top professional riders race in WSBK is a cool-sounding one, but in reality there is almost not a single screw on the WSBK bike from the stock bike. Those things are tuned big time.
Some of the best footage I have ever seen on 2 wheels. Spectacular. This video is literally mesmerizing. Beautiful to watch this level of skill with the baddest of bikes.
The only thing that would make these videos better is a bit of data overlay, throttle position, braking and lean angle. Keep them coming though, just AMAZING!
Grande Nico!! 💪💪💪 Video spettacolare stupendo!! Comunque ripeto grande Nico 💪💪
My favorite thing about this video aside from the beautiful footage and godly riding is the fact that the bikes have uncovered rear brakes. You learn so much about braking, how long to trail, and when to release the brakes and accelerate out of the corner just by watching that light come on and off. I hate that most track organizations make you remove or tape up the rear brake lights.
