Agreed. They ripped me off. Added keywords to my existing resume, in incorrect locations producing grammatically incorrect sentences and a BS resume I wouldn't give anybody!
Yeah, 30% wouldn't have done any good if the work they produce is not even 1% valuable. Glad I could help. if you chose another company over them and they turn out to be good please let us know here ;)
@@KiaRashan I've heard about them, and have seen people recommend them as the "better or real alternative" but I have never tried their service. I would recommend giving their "terms" a readthrough before buying www.letseatgrandma.com/terms
I’m glad I saw this video first before proceeding to do anything with them. I happened to create my resume on a resume builder site that I always trusted. Somehow they passed my resume for an unsolicited free critique review with TopResume as a third party. I thought it was kind of strange they didn’t ask first for privacy but then I thought to myself, I could probably use the advice. Once they were done with the review, I opened and saw how generic it was saying and how my resume was the “doer” and not the “achiever”. Yet I have been receiving interviews just fine with my resume. They also was very inaccurate with the ATS system. That was when I did a google search and saw that people were getting the same generic advice. Also the “resume expert” who supposedly wrote it. Couldn’t be found anywhere on google when searching their profile. At least I didn’t fall for their gimmick.
Thank you so much for this video!! I came across this video and so glad I did. I too, was so close to hiring them after submitting my resume for a "complimentary review" and when it came back with generic "issues" of my resume. I watched a video they embedded in the email and decided to go to youtube myself to see what other youtube videos were out there and yours was the first and only one I needed to see to make my decision! Wow, you just saved me money and the frustration of getting my executive resume rewritten. Guess, I'll try Rezi or a real resume writer from LinkedIn. Thank you thank you thank you!!
I had a bad feeling about the company after they sent me the email criticizing my resume. It Just felt like scam right off the bat. I’m glad I came across this video .
I don't' know, I used top Resume and found that my writer was quick to get back to me within 24 hours and she worked with me collaboratively. It was not a perfect service, but I got 2 revision periods within a 7 day period and a phone call with my writer and I was able to get a resume that I liked a lot. I wouldn't give the service a perfect score, but a solid 8.5 out of 10 from me for being exactly what it was advertised to be .
Top Resume does NOT deliver I shelled out hundreds of dollars for a professional resume-writing service and got the following: 1. A writer using outdated software (Office 2013!) 2. Resume that is almost impossible to edit 3. Horrible formatting that is also hard to edit 4. Poor customer service giving me the run-around They need to be exposed for their poor product, support, and service. Stay FAR away from this organization and work with a consultant that does this service instead - it's worth it especially if you are applying for a senior or executive level role.
What I would like to see is an email from them where they don't criticize a resume uploaded, effectively saying that their service is not required! I bet this will never happen, even if you upload a resume that they "worked" on themselves. I couldn't figure it out, but I did have a feeling that paying some faceless service to write my resume was a waste of money.
Considering we have AI now, you can just copy paste your CV into ChatGPT and tell it to re-write the Resume in the best way possible to be hired while passing ATS tester scans ... And it's free
I literally was about to purchase their resume and cover letter package. The reason why I wanted to purchase their package was because, the link was displayed on a government jobs website and I figured they were legitimate. Thankfully i came across your video.
@@honestview the funny thing about it., is when I applied to this job, it had me select this box in order to submit my application..it said they would review my resume for free. That was Tuesday.Today I got the email with the review of my resume and they pretty much told me it was GREAT but NOT GREAT lol. I was like okay? I reviewed their brief recommendations, and they sounded overly exaggerated. That’s when they offered to “rewrite” my resume at the hefty fee.
@@dbcd56 I spoke with the guy from Rezi as he saw this video, he said TopResume tried to buy him out… TopResume now have an automation system in place which actually pulls info from the resume you submit, like; name, job position, skills. And replies back automatically using your info, it’s very convincing, they even make you wait a day or so. Thing is, if you submit a John Doe 123 resume, or a resume they re-written, it would find the same mistakes, and offer to re-write again. They are making their scam more convincing.
Thanks for the video. A "recruiter" reached out to me and told me I should submit my resume to this very service and then I found your video so Im glad I didnt fall for this SCAM. Not good.
I hope you could get at least some kind of refund! I don’t know, maybe give this vid a like and hope the algorithm picks it up and spreads it around a bit?!
They took my resume and sent me the exact copy of my resume back to me claiming they made changes. The didn't do anything. They are totally a scam. I had to report this to my bank.
I guess your resume was already perfect ;) No but seriously, it’s terrible what these guys do… if your bank does not resolve this contact their support team, over and over again, eventually they might give in at least partially.
@@honestview They sent my original back to me within 5 minutes of signing up and are trying to claim they delivered a product. Well, they didn't and since I used a credit card this is considered fraud.
Hi! I am trying to get a group of people together who have been defrauded by Top Resume. Maybe we can sign a petition, get the whole group to submit reports to the BBB, and then start a class action lawsuit against them. Please let me know if you are interested.
Unfortunately I don’t know, it’s not my profession, so I haven’t tried other companies. Email Rezi, to see if they still write Resumes, I only dealt with them in the past, so they are the only ones I can recommend. So I wish you luck finding the one that works for you and share back here if you found something good 👍🏻
I got a 7 month contract job at apple after getting a resume redo from upwork. After completing that job. I’ve been applying to some career boards and one submitted my resume to top resume. TopResume proceed to tell me everything was wrong with my resume and it wouldn’t even pick up my degree via the ats. But 10 year hr person off upwork that scanned my resume before sending it to me had no problem running it through ats.
I got an email this evening from TopResume telling me my resume was not good, I replied to them telling them I get a lot of responses to my resume, I do not even remember ever sending them my resume.!!!!
I wish I saw this before using TopResume. I did look for reviews before using and even had a few friends look at TopResume's critique of my resume. I saw good reviews and friends said give it a try. Now hearing that they are able to remove negative reviews pisses me off. I am trying to see if I can get at least some of my money back. I will put up my reviews and see if they stick. Thank you for this video!!
I wish he were lying, but he is not. Here is how I know. I used them, and don’t get me wrong, they did my resume, and I actually was pretty pleased with it. However, after they did my resume, I ran the newly done resume by them through that same resume uploader, and low and behold, the same type of messages again. Oh, basically, the resume is no good; it won’t make it past the automation, etc.; hmm, but didn’t you just do my resume so it could? Yeah, please don’t do it.
Hey everyone! I am trying to get a group of people together who have been defrauded by Top Resume. Maybe we can sign a petition, get the whole group to submit reports to the BBB, and then start a class action lawsuit against them. Please let me know if you are interested.
This is 100% true, this company SUCKS a scammer. They took my very good resume, did not address the issues I wanted help with and returned an error-ridden piece of crap that nobody would ever ever use. They keep offering me a 50% return of payment same as the host of this video.
Damn it I wish I'd seen this first. My so called professional was beyond useless for my CV. Please people, don't waste your money on these people as they just use a tonne of large words, string them together, and hope for the best. I've had to re-write completely.
I bought a 3$ template to download my own resume on it and they charged me $24 a week later i did not approve for any subscriptions. Hope i get a refund 😡
I had a look at "Resume Worded" and they seem legit, but they are not a resume writing company, they only offer you the tools to analyse and write your own, it's a software/service whereas "Top Resume" is a service only, you have to take a risk, with "resume worded" you can try for yourself for free.
I'm a student expecting to graduate in a few weeks and I'm pretty sure I just got an account made for me with no way of deleting the account or resetting the password. Just spam updates that a resume I've never submitted is being reviewed.
Cut and paste + plagiarism + excuses = Fake Resume I had high hopes for this company based on the abundance of positive reviews on Trustpilot. However, those reviews must be paid for, fake, or from people who just don't know better. I purchased the top tier package (Executive Priority Resume) which is supposed to be completed by the top 10% of the company's writer network. Things started out on the right track when a writer was assigned the same day and that writer quickly delivered the first draft within 24 hours. Unfortunately, this was the only positive experience I had with them. The resume they sent me was simply a reformat of what I sent them to use to draw from with some added fluff. They literally cut and pasted sections of my original work and then plagiarized some fluff from various LinkedIn profiles. The cover letter they wrote was even worse! The entire cover letter was plagiarized from LinkedIn profiles with a few bullet points included that were cut from my original resume and did not make sense. There were grammatical errors throughout the resume and cover letter and neither was an improvement from the originals I submitted. The first draft was refused and suggestions were given for improvement. The writer assured me he would rewrite it and do it quickly. Almost 6 days later I received the second draft back of the resume only, nothing had changed except for one bullet point. Upon receipt of this second draft, I reached out to the customer service number directly. I spoke to a gentleman who tried to explain away the plagiarism and assure me that a second writer would solve the problem. This writer would be a senior writer and would work with me until I was satisfied. Apparently, the original writer I was given was not in the top 10% of their network although that is what I paid for. After some back and forth I reluctantly agreed to wait for the second writer and gave TopResume 48 hours to find the writer that was a good match for my industry, career level and language. TopResume missed the mark and just kept coming up with excuses about why it was going to take longer and longer to find a writer. They refused to refund my money, they stole other people's intellectual property, fraudulently created a fake resume and cover letter with fake qualifications, and never delivered the LinkedIn profile update. Their writers are not as experienced as they claim. They are not an ethical company and need to be shut down. I do not recommend them even for an entry-level resume. If you have worked with them in the past, take your resume and run it through a free plagiarism checker online and see for yourself. Don't be fooled by them, the good reviews are fake, and the bad ones are the real reviews. DO NOT USE THIS FAKE RESUME-WRITING COMPANY
Thank you very much for this video! I think that the youtuber Coffeezilla might want to cover this - he covers many scams, but usually of the MLM nature. However, this company needs to be exposed. Also, good luck to you and I hope everyone gets their money back someday.
I just got mine back and it’s so bad. I definitely got scammed. I got the CV and resume combo, and the CV is decent, which is what I really needed help on. But omg, the resume 😱. It was repetitive, overly worded, and 3 pages long. When I was in grad school, I was told the CV is where you can get personal and wordy, but keep the resume short and sweet, no more than 1-1.5 pages (maybe 2 if you’re very experienced).
