What a good question.

My son received a liver and a kidney transplant... We are thankful for the donor which saved my sons life. When I received the phone call That My son Joshua had only about 2 weeks to live and at that time was not living in accordance with Yahs word.. I was praying and hoping for an open door... He was days away from death and he needed both organs which is extremely unlikely. Everything has to be a perfect match. It was a quite an ordeal to say the least, A lot of praying and crying out to Abba.. He could have just healed him but chose to save his life though a donor. Yah gives life and Yah takes away! He is now alive and well and has turned his life over to his creator .. He is a miracle , not only physically but spiritually.

I have done some research into this subject because I found out that the donor is usually kept alive during harvesting. Quite honestly the idea of a donor having already died before harvesting is more comforting to me than the process that usually takes place. The donor is given a paralytic drug to keep them from moving while the organs are being harvested. But not an anesthetic that would keep them from feeling anything. If you Google search "what is brain death?" there's a Doctor who will explain in full detail that brain death is a term that was made up right around the same time that organ donation became a realistic concept in the medical community. There are tests to determine if someone is brain dead but they're not necessarily completely determinate. There have been anesthesiologists who quit their job after observing patients that were donating organs during the harvesting process because their vital signs showed signs of distress and pain. They had to measure blood pressure and heart rate and those changed as soon as the scalpel touched their skin. But they're given a paralytic drug so they can't move or talk or make noise. Could you imagine? Anyway I'm completely against organ donation for this reason. And if you follow the money you'll see that there is a lot of scandal behind organ donation. Hospitals get bonuses based on how many organ donors they provide. Families that are in distress over an injured loved one are coerced into organ donation so that their loved one can become a "hero". And then the hospital gets a bunch of money for their organs. Anyway that's food for thought also. One other thought comes to mind though and I completely agree with the man in the red shirt at the end. Our bodies are supposed to be holy and sacred and kept pure. Putting someone else's DNA in our own body could potentially corrupt our bodies. I understand the concept of preserving life superceding the other commands, except to what end? Preserving life? Prolonging life? Are we putting too much faith in the medical system instead of the Father? I feel like this crosses the line in playing God.

Very well said. I have also read that the person receiving the organ can take on some of the characteristics of the person that had died. For instance they might crave a certain food that they've never eaten before. That's just one example.

Excellent question and comments !! Ezra chapter 9 speaks volumes regarding this, to those that will see it, as does the Peor incident with the Midianites in that through Mashiach we are called to be kings and priests, a royal priesthood and a holy nation. Genesis 6 verifies the "tainting" or "defiling" of the dna.

I’m reading all these comments and you guys are really frightening me and I didn’t know any Torah four years ago when I was very sick and had to have a blood transfusion because my hemoglobin got down to a five it supposed to be around 13.2 or something. I was passing out I couldn’t stay on my feet at times. Long story short the transfusion saved my life. At the time I had no earthly idea that this could be a spiritual problem or DNA problem. I just wanted to live. And now that I’ve been studying Torah for halfway into the second year. i’m really becoming concerned now. On the other hand, I’ve never been more devoted to scripture and to the Lord and trying to live holy. The fact is I fully agree with everyone’s opinions. Then on the other hand, how do I process what I’ve done and who I am now? Shalom

I listened to the different opinions but the one thing that was never brought up was if it were your wife, your husband, or your child and they needed an organ you could donate would you do it? I believe the woman was right the preservation of life is a lot more important than a body that had a piece of bacon. And as Jesus said, what goes into the body is eliminated, it's what in the heart that matters.

In the old days, a deceased person was laid out for three days before burial. Family would come and pay respects and it gave family time to grieve and say goodbye. Also rabbinical teaching says the soul is close by for three days. So, what about "holy dying"? What happened to respect for the body and the ritual of dying?

You don't know who is receiving. What if they were unsaved or demon processed ? The one receiving?

examples in torah show preserving another's life can be grounds for breaking a lesser command. think of Moses and Rehab
