My god I've come to the realization that we, We are walking around, in the same time, breathing the same air, as who may be one of the greatest musicians in history. How Does it fell to be alive, alive during the likes of a Beethoven or a Mozart, in Our Time.
Yesterday I was by the beach, in the sand with a boy I've been dating these days. We were getting high and then we looked up at the sky and saw Venus, then started talking about the planets and by a certain point I decided to put this beautiful song for us to listen among stars and kisses Thank you Tori. It was even more magical because of you 🌷❤
I try to get my daughter to listen to Tori, as I was her age when I first started listening to Tori myself in 1997 with Pele. The new music culture is so sad
I have come to the conclusion that Tori is one of the greatest songwriters of our time. If you really look at closely at some of her songs, the sheer depth in some of them is incredibly moving. As evidenced here for example, she creates an absolutely heart wrenching atmosphere with "isn't you" acknowledgement. But it goes even deeper. Songs such as cooling, bells for her. There's honestly so many that hit that next level of writing.
nah, 2019 and Tori is the only artist who can wring _these_ kinda feels outta me... I am _SO_ glad to have these relics from the Magical Era of the 90-s and early 00's, to show me that this anti-soul world today is an anomole...we'll get Life back once the need for it wells up too strong in s to keep suppressed...
Touches right in the heart ♥️ she is one of the most magnificent performers ever and I adore her 💜 her live versions are even better than the studio versions in my opinion. Love her
Lucky to have met Tori in early 90’s gave her a necklace, she liked the bells & I loved her music as did my Kids...one of whom had beautiful red hair but she was teased constantly Tori made her feel beautiful as she danced and sang her songs. She was killed in 2012 in Ft Collins God Bless you my beautiful child I miss you forever!!
Right, Steven.. I was a fan when she was a performer, when there was her breath in each of her songs, of her notes, of her words.. When each performance was like if she were composing the tune, in real time.. When she was feeling each single second of her songs.. This "best live ever" is a slaughter, passed through the same steamroller (bass/drums/basic keyboard chords) as her other songs in the same concert, and as on the previous and the next concert, I miss Tori Amos mtv unplugged 1996..
She is an amazing artist.....especially live....goosebumps emotions you never knew you had before She is on of the top artists we ever had in our history
After recently listening to Beekeeper again, I've realized how some songs are actually very classic Tori (Earthquakes/Pink). I didn't notice at first as 19 songs is a lot to take in (& each song is a bit different than the previous). Try going through and just listening to Sweet the Sting, Jamacia Inn, Sleeps with Butterflies, Mother Revolution, Original Sinsuality, Martha's Foolish Ginger, Goodby Pisces, Marys of the Sea, and see what I mean. Lyrically and musically, they're pretty consistent.
There is no other place to share this- but shared it must be. Tori I love you... I love how your songs are my old friends who ebb and flow and grow with me.
@BelMagick I haven't listened to this song/video in months.. But it's been in my head for the past couple days.. I was hiking with a friend, and by complete chance.. he says part of one of the lines in the song.. I looked at him like.. I was in shock.. he has never listened to Tori's songs.. There are some in this world, that have been given such a gift, that god's light shines through them, I too would be absolutely overwhelmed, if the hand of god touched me..
@mhatsko omg.. omg.. I just realized and remembered... way back when, when I was first getting into Tori music I remember, it was the first time I saw/heard a Bosendorfer piano, and thought to myself.. my god that piano Has a soul, not long after I said that to myself.. Tori came on MTV and was talking about her Bosendorfer piano.. and said the very same thing..!!! I was in complete shock and amazement.. one of the last Tori concerts I went to in Syracuse I took a pic of the piano standing..
IF you're meaning the version of "Hey Jupiter" from the Bliss single was 5th April 1994, sorry - but you're wrong. That song wasn't written then. It was on Boys For Pele (1996) and first played live on the tour of the same year
Phenomenal performance but I have to disagree with your comment. There aren't many artists as visceral as Tori, imo of course. It may be just what I want to hear but I thought she changed friend to fan, in turn she entices the crowd to engage. Her bottom lip caresses the microphone during her angelic chorus'. She grinds on the piano bench, as per her usual I understand. It's obvious she's definitely thinking about someone, maybe wishing the crowd to make it less personal but the reality of it only enhancing her performance to stun them further. Her world crashing at the end, realizing the crowd pushed her to that place and then having to leave the stage to recompose herself. Very special performance indeed, ty for posting. Disclaimer: I'm not a stalker, I swear, I just appreciate rare moments like this one a lot.
I did an edit of the podcast version she did years ago and uploaded it on my page. I removed the dead air and talking so that it is just the song. Just her voice and the pianos. Come by my page to listen to it.
@zinth69 Totally agreed, The music mags don't realize how stupid they look when they constantly overlook and underrate her. They lose credibility big time.
You speak about Tori as though you know her personally. And what you said above had absoultey no relevance to the original comment I posted in which you were replying to.
I love Tori but this is just like the performance I saw a bunch of years ago.. I was expecting a BoOming powerful performance like what i hear on her album and it was quiet and library like... just like this..and everyone sat down and told each other to shoosh.. no one could even sing along it was so quit... disappointing concert.. though she sounded great.. not what I paid for.
it looks like she is locking eyes with everyone in the front vicinity of an auditorium...it's due to lights and stage/auditorium setup. dont cream yourself. you aren't special.
