I'm a Tori fanatic and never heard this before - because she's done SO many shows and has done SO many fantastic covers. It's not a weakness. It's a strength she built from her piano bar days. Just like all of us, she has favorite songs and loves to play them - with her own spin, which is always beautiful. I love this song. Just now found out Tori covered it. How it's not a good thing that she did is beyond my comprehension.
Why are people who don't like her covers clicking on this video in the first place? I think she's the queen of covers, myself. She just sang "myself" as I typed that. Groovy!
@@markusweissenbock6337 That is a part of *some* live concerts. There are plenty where the audience waits until the end of the song to cheer/applaud/scream, and plenty of others where the only sound during the songs is to sing along. To me, even singing along is like going up to a piece of fine art and throwing some of your own paint onto it. Let everyone else enjoy the actual artist's work, would you, please?
Tori had to tell back at some twit in Atlanta one year I was at one of her concerts. It was a girl cracked up on dope. Security had to tell her to shut up. Tori yelled out "THE FUCKING MOTLEY CRUE CONCERT IS ACROSS THE STREET!"
wow i discovered tori recently, better late than never. i always tend to "discover" artists after the hype goes away. she is really a stunning artist. we have musicians and rock stars, than we have people who just blow past all labels and categories and raise humanity up another level. when she was popular i was stuck on "manly" bands like tool, primus, nin but as i get older i open up and can appreciate the finer tastes!
Corbin Hollars If you think that Tori doesn't have aggressiveness then you should look up Cruel live on Jools Holland, her cover of Heart Of Gold, The Waitress live 1998, Body & Soul live 2007, etc.
Utterly awesome! Tori has the power to hold you spellbound with just the start of a song...such a special talent and a real passion for the music, too!
I love when a Artist does a cover the way I do. Don't ever want it to be exactly like the original. I make it 'my own' 'my sound". That's precisely what Tori did here. what people misconstrued as wrong notes and cords, are simply her being her. Props Tori!
Ppl always complain about audiences cheering (at least on youtube videos) but personally there a few things in life I love more than being at a live show and feeling the energy in the venue shift when the audience responds excitedly to a song. And yes, that includes a few screams lol. I remember Tori singing an Aussie classic here in Melbourne ("Don't dream it's over) and the crowd cheered when they recognised it, and again between verses. It was natural, spontaneous and exhilarating. Now, sometimes someone will keep shrieking randomly, usually for attention, and yes that's annoying. But some people need to lighten up and stop worrying about "etiquette" so much...it's a live performance, we shouldn't feel obliged to suppress our visceral responses. Also, this is a bootleg, so the screams sound louder than they would in a professional recording
So this led me to the original which has changed my life forever. The original lead me back to Tori's cover, which promptly put me to tears. Ahh, the power of music!
***** Hi Ted, I saw her live once, too. fortunately, we had a much cooler audience, spellbound. It would get so quiet, you could hear a pin drop and by the end of some her songs grown men, weeping. She's amazing.
Tori is the ultimate snarky. Okay primal scream time is over, now I’m going to do what you asked…kind of, by that I mean I’m going to do what I want to do. And you’re gonna love it. ❤
I'm a huge Radiohead fan and I must say that she does great justice to this song. This is my favorite Radiohead song and I love to hear great renditions of it.
Tori's ability to create such an intmate feel to her live gigs. Her sound is set to hear all those sweet wispering vocals. Her piano grinding making both men and women in the audience hot.Truly hypnotic.
@softspot4heels I saw her in Rome, it was the 7th of July, the day of the terroristic attack in London. She dedicated 'Imagine' to the victims of the tragedy and she gave me chills. Best concert ever seen (however, during her last tour she was so... WOW!!!).
I love this cover, wish there was a better version like in a studio or at least without the loud audience or is there? can't seem to find one anywhere.
when i listen to this it's like my veins are digesting it without ceasing. it's almost painful, but in a good way, like you want to jump off a cliff in ecstasy sort of way. i love tori.
@lototengofriofire the dew drop inn tour?!? eheh, have you seen the video of the opening concert of that tour when she stops singing 'crucify' because of the screaming audience? (she did 'loosing my religion' instead, but still...)
