She only did ”Something In Your Eyes” but oh my what she did. I’ll link it below. As I think you know, this is the song Karen never sang. Richard with Dusty Springfield sang it on RC’s “Time” solo album, in 1987. A beautiful rendition for sure. Tori is giving us the “what if” take. Using Drew Jansen’s clean piano accompaniment and video and pictures from the church where the 55th Acoustic Night took place. (Where Karen’s funeral was held) This is THE performance to react to. Of note is this is the first time, in the notes, that Tori has given herself “Producer” credit. This is long overdue. I’d like to say Arranger should have been there, too. Hi Ronnie! Thank you for reacting to Tori in video form and a beautiful cover that Jim created. Your video was balanced and good! I met her and her dad at the 55th Anniversary Celebration. It was 4 days of Carpenters! On the last night, the closing ceremonies, if you will. RICHARD CARPENTER was the surprise guest! This was NOT on the agenda. Chris May brought in his coauthor. The third author of the Musical Legacy book, Mike, was sick. After the big interview and signings and stuff. Tori was whisked “backstage” and did get to meet Richard one on one. That picture is on all her socials now. If you search her name and sort by date you’ll see the two songs she did at the Acoustic Night. I shot that video as you’ll see it on my channel. Not sure if it’s great reaction material but it came out OK for an iPhone from the 3rd row. She sang Something In Your Eyes (audience gasped but iPhone didn’t hear it) and Yesterday Once More. Live with piano. That is her newest video, I guess. As for the 55th, it felt like everything was video’d. I think it will all be released at some point.
