Singer / Songwriter Tori Kelly performs 'Colors of the Wind' from Disney's 'Pocahontas ' during 'The Disney Family Singalong.' Watch the full special and highlights on ABC and Hulu! #stayhome #withme
Yes this is true. Tori is amazingly talented. But it’s also possible to be a “true vocalist”, a “true singer”, and a pop star at the same time. Just because someone is a “mainstream” pop star that doesn’t mean they can’t be vocalists, there are some pop stars that are incredibly talented too. Being a pop star and being a vocalist is not mutually exclusive, you can be both.
i don’t think she’s a “vocalist” and unlike everyone else lmao. Sure she’s an amazing singer but she sounds just like everyone else with a decent voice in the pop industry.
Asia Stanley no. She’ll earn it just as she’s earned everything else. She isn’t entitled to recognition and no one has to give it to her. She earns her fans and her money and success. Do you deserve your diploma or do you earn it?
speech and language pathologist here! here vocal chords are not everything, the vocal tract has a strong influence as well and her technique. Watch videos of vocal coaches to understand how singing works, since it's very complex and very interesanting, due to singers use different cavities to put their voices and change their register :)
@@mariajoseespinoza9219 omg I used to be an SLP major but I'm switching career paths to work in the mental health field! Y'all are intelligent and appreciated!
Tori deserves to voice a princess. She’s literally made to play one. All I know is Disney needs to come up with aN ENTIRELY new princess and cast her like ASAP.
Disney have become very politically conscious which I think is great as many cultures/ethnicities were under-represented for a while however I do agree that positive discrimination has come too far if Tori doesn't become a disney princess soon ;)
Raynard Yu to be fair, all these performances were recorded at home, and not everyone (even celebrities I guess) has a full blown recording space in their house.
Lydia H Yup! I’m aware that it’s all just at home, but definitely came in handy for her. The sound quality is amazing, like they could release this on Spotify already.
She is a tie with Christina’s “Can you feel the love tonight” for me personally, they were they only two performances to genuinely give me the feels and chills, I took off my head phones feeling full like I’d had a wholesome 3 course meal 🤣
Tori is so underrated. Her voice sounds like Disney magic. Lol I would so be down for her to play Rapunzel if Disney ever does a live action version of Tangled.
It'd be so amazing if Disney did some sort of collab with Tori Kelly. She's an amazing and underrated artist, and she would bring something new to their franchise.
“Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned” great line, I recently finished my American literature class in high school and when it comes to Native American stories, their stories would tell us why a certain animal looked the way it did. When we look at our pet cats from the side, they look like they are smiling. Natives were always connected to the land around them.
this song always gets me teary-eyed, and Tori Kelly doesn't help that at all, her voice got me feeling some type of way :') beautiful cover, as expected from her
Fun fact: Tori Kelly is a voice actress and singer for her character Meena from Sing, and her character has an amazing singing voice! I wish Illumination can make a video where Meena can surprise Disney fans and children by singing this "Colors of the Wind" song from "Pocahontas"! That would be the best video I will watch! Great video, Tori Kelly! Props to you! 😁😁😁😁❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
“You only think people that are people, are people that only look and think like you...” POWERFUL. Thanks Tori. Love your gospel album and the latest one. In the last one you explored your childhood experiences (loved the one where you have your dad welcoming to judaism) and the song where you also tell your dad that you fell in love. A heartwarming soul. It shows. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
If theres a Pocahontas remake, Disney better use her voice as the alternative track to this song!!! Tori deserves so much Recognition! And that well deserved Grammy
"Colors of the Wind" is undeniably one of the greatest songs ever written. The Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez has a hauntingly beautiful version of this.
