Hopefully Corbyn gets his seat back, I'm fed up of these rich gits using politics to exploit our health care. No politician should have shares in anything, get money out of politics
Corbyn needs to remind the rest of them why tf they are there. The people, not lining their own pockets. I’d like to see some significant lobbing & donations reform. Even if the Tories ever did get a sniff at power again, any implemented changes would ham string them from being dodgy self serving thieves.
@@franklingoodwin Reform are going to get 5 seats as a moonshot, one or two are more likely but they could possibly get zero. If Tories get 3rd it will be because the Lib Dems came in second, that means we'll have a centre left party being held to account by a left party and the Tories just don't get a say any more.
The only real the own ways of Leader Opposition, is LibDems. I don't believe the whence it came was Tories return a Leader Opposition is a joke, yet many times as it is Deja vu all over again. If the SNPs keeps the seats of Scotland, it is impossible in 3rd place as the 2nd Leader Opposition, 'cause any other no alliances rebellious between ReformUK and Tories.
Dahlia is right. Any service, be it health care provision or otherwise, which is financed by the public sector, should be provided by a publicly owned and operated entity, not by private rentier operators
Private sector money already wrecked the NHS and schools with PPI contracts which have crippled them and given them substandard facilities. What again really!!! The public if the UK cannot afford anymore experimental pipe dreams. Private money will ultimately end up with even more of the UK being owned by foreign investment. We have seen how successful that is with regard to our rail system fares, and the price of fuel in UK compared with other countries in Europe as they own our energy. It is the road to nowhere and nothing. The Freepirts and SEZ are the vehicles which have been set up to core Britain out and put all our resources, reserves, human labour converted into money stacked in UK owned Tax Havens and the people of Britain working ever more for ever less as bigger and bigger sluces of it becomes invested by the rich few all iver the world to make sure tgey are "alright Jack" - Sleep walking off a cliff with our eyes wide open!!!
Yes, it is good to vote out Tories but brute majority for any party is not good in a healthy democracy. We would need a strong opposition. Hopefully we get enough Lib democrats, Green party and SNP candidates in the Parliament.
Why would they need Blackrock and PFI? Have a public bonds scheme, like War Bonds, let the people invest in their own infrastructure and reap the rewards. Public money.
I really hope that Labour finds its moral core as it assumes power. It's so sad that, just as Labour gains the kind of majority that could change Britain forever, they tact to the right and become near identical to the Tories.
Please correct me if I am wrong but wasn't there a podcast about British water being ruined by privateers like Black Rock, if true you Brits are going to vote for Tori lite. Heaven help you if you let them get their hands on the NHS
His candidates are brilliant. I voted for them today! It’s scandalous the lack of coverage. I’m rooting for Chris Williamson in Derby and Craig Murray in Blackburn.
To Novara Media, the working class are something to be scared of. The Workers Party are the inheritors of Jeremy Corbyn’s left wing vision for the country.
Thank you Michael. Thank you DALIA (your one-party predicament is echoed here in the states; no to privatizatization). And thank you Steven. And thank you Daniela Gabor (have her back on!).
They always say the weirdest answers to the most mundane personal questions. Like when they say weird stuff about football. They can’t just say “I don’t really watch football, I’m really into road cycling” which is the honest, semi-interesting answer. Even if he’d say “I eat a bacon sandwich most days, streaky smoked bacon, thick white hovis, Kerry gold butter & of course HP sauce, perfection!” But then he’d need to have a personality to say such a thing.
@@powderedtoastfacekillah734 little rishis thought process: Caviar, no I'm supposed to be a relatable common man..... Wagyu steak no, what do the poors eat.... Hmmm "**SANDWICHES**" Nailed it.
Labour will do the usual thing the main parties do shortly after victory - claim a mandate to do everything they (or more properly, their handlers) want. With most of it having never been flagged to the electorate beforehand.
Daniela Gabor is right, her exposing is factual! It is proven that to give national health or infrastructure to sinister private companies will be a disastrous outcome has been a common practice in third world countries and now of neoliberalism .If you vote Labour instead of other decent options and candidates you are heading for a bigger ruin..😞🇪🇸
Dahlia smashing it yet again. Take note Michael, she's right. However, just a thought, why is everyone ignoring and underestimating the Lib Dems? I think they may surprise a lot of people on Friday. Can't wait to find out! See you both tomorrow.
Once voted Lib Dem but lost faith when leader Nick Clegg, and I liked him, formed a Coalition with David Cameron to see the Tories from a government. Why?
@@lizfuller400 I'm talking about tactical voting and getting the Tories out. I'm not a Lib Dem but want them to be the official Opposition, so the Tories are completely finished. Dahlia spoke about the Greens having counsellors and are active within the Community. The Lib Dems have this in many parts of the country and will be instrumental in bringing in PR, which means I shall finally be able to vote Green and get the representation that I want!
What she's saying is really scary though. Blackrock and Blackstone are going to own what would have been state assets in the past (roads, hospitals, maybe schools) and bleed us dry with rents and tolls and fees (maximizing their profits using whatever levers they can). As they also hold the big pension funds we can't let them fail or nationalise them. Basically we are screwed.
Yes and no, her mastery of the English language is highly commendable but her points are often very childish and you can see and hear her get annoyed when people make very reasonable counter points or if she's corrected.
I have been refused a vote because I don't have a passport. I was born here in 1970, worked in the NHS as a key worker 22 years. Currently retired. Worked through covid, lost most of my family. And now I'm refused a vote. Fuck your system.
I think politics should be approached in more of a scientific way. Too many people are too certain that their own political hypotheses are correct. Whereas I feel a great deal of uncertainty. The human brain cannot possibly comprehend on its own all the different variables at play. At the moment politics seems to be about arguing which hypothesis is correct in a logical and philosophical way - but ultimately what sets apart the scientific method from these disciplines is admitting humans actually arent very good at coming up with hypotheses - a scientist will treat a well argued hypothesis with equal skepticism until positive results are obtained - even the most apparently logically sound. Progress is made when a hypothesis yields negative results - it gives us a clue about the flaw in our reasoning and thus new knowledge is attained. Instead of emotionally attaching yourself to a policy outcome, you should admit that it is indeed just a hypothesis and go into it with curiosity - equal curiosity should be given to failed policies as these also provide useful information. Whenever a new policy is implemented this should be accompanied by a chosen set of metrics which will decide whether this was a failure or not. This will be raw data so no argument to be had if it failed.
very interesting conversation on blackrock, troubling to think that the uk has come to this. However, if it saves our public infrustructure then fine. covid showed us money really grows on trees
SNP are not the only viable party for Scots that want independence. Labour exists for them, too. The times for you using people's love for independence as an excuse to be woefully incompetent are gone. Try again next election cycle.
I'm afraid I do. Everyone I speak to is going Labour or as in the constituency I live in the incumbent lib dem. No one is talking about the SNP they had their chance to deliver cessation and wouldn't take it no one wants any more politically correct nonsense from the plastic parliament in Holyrood.
SNP has been a disaster in governance the last three years. Scots want change, too. SNP WILL be back soon because independence polls highly but Scots need a break from them for a while.
If only 5% of people agree with Labour's policies, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU VOTING FOR THEM THEN?! The amount of lies Starmer has told does not deserve to be rewarded with power.
Is it worth considering that should it go worst case for the Tories and they are just behind in 3rd merging with Reform could give them enough seats to be the opposition. That would also be a way of crowning Farage as party leader without pushing away more moderate Conservatives....
Why do you think Toad & Co. Ltd want PR? Farage and his backers want a party that can continue to prop up and steer the Tories. He's done reasonably well at influencing the Conservative party whilst letting them take all the blame, so why not turn it into an official partnership?
Tony Blair was NOT a positive choice in 1997. People HOPED he was just being thatcher lite until the election was over, but he wasn't. In saying that, new labour really did implement an amazing number of changes in a few short years. Iraq and Afghanistan aside, they did well for the people. I doubt Starmer's labour will be the same. Examples: Devolution, Minimum wage, WTC/CTC.
The analysis on approval rating is such lazy commentary. The world has changed. Blair: +51% approval -29% disapproval NET +22% APPROVAL Major: +32% approval -59% disapproval NET -27% DISAPPROVAL NET FOR BLAIR: +49% AHEAD Starmer: +41% approval -32% disapproval NET +9% APPROVAL Sunak: +16% approval -75% disapproval NET -59% DISAPPROVAL NET FOR STARMER: +68% AHEAD
Tories claim victory you mean? Starmer's Tories are claiming they've won. Conservative Party Tories Concede Defeat In Last Day Of Campaign not all of them...
In every election people get a choice. 'what I'd like actually do if I were queen' is never on the ballot. You won't fight European/Faragist extremism by losing on a utopian ticket.
It was great to see Daniela Gabor in Novara! so brilliant! Her research and work needs to get louder and spread wider - we need more critical political economy knowledge for all !!
