I wasn't always so happy. But things change, and you either make life happen, or it happens to you.
If you're concerned about your mental health, I recommend you explore and get professional help - it's not just a disclaimer that comedians use, it made a tremendously positive difference in my life.

The ability to focus for extended periods of time is a gift. It's a gift that millions around the world (myself included) would LOVE to have because the complete opposite is anything but productive. You effing rock, Torley. Been watching you for years.

No genius has ever gone through life without inward struggle. I don't know that much about you but to look at your visible achievements I'd say you've taken your disorders and rose above them. You're a master musician (in my opinion). You have a lovely wife, you have a highly intelligent disposition, and hey you have good taste in liking Fringe. I don't know you but you seem very respectable.

Well it's 2016, so five years after you posted this Torley! I've only just discovered you and your music here. I was drawn in by your personality and your music, and then I saw this post referring to Aspergers, etc! Well, whaddyaknow; we have so much in common - wow! Check it out: I'm a musician, with Aspergers, have suffered from depression, have Tinnitus, had a nurturing (although somewhat demanding upbringing). My father died, and I lost my way for a while, and got professional help, including the late diagnosis for AS. A little uncanny! Best wishes Dude, you're a great character! :)

I had a friend who was schizo-effective and manic. He was incredibly gifted in music production and was very knowledgable about many things. People thought he was a freak and avoided him. He became one of my best friends because I understood him and was inspired by his ideas.

I've enjoyed watching a lot of your videos, you have such a friendly and creative spirit and I look up to you for that, especially now knowing what goes on behind the scenes in your life. Torley, this is a really remarkable video and I thank you for making it. I must say, that since I joined Second Life in 2006, I have watched many of your YouuTube videos with interest, and other than a reference you made to hyperacusis, I have been constantly amazed by your talents without knowing anything about the challenges you have faced and continue to face.

Hey Torley, Just wanna say thank you for being so open with us and talking about all of this. When I was 4 I found out I had below-average hearing, when 14 that I had Aspergers and much more recently that I had depression, it's refreshing to hear someone being so open about Aspergers.

I enjoy your tutorials and your music, and creativity so much, Torley. Now I get to enjoy you as you are. Wonderful to listen to you. Yes a great share. And yes, all of us have problems with something. My mom was bipolar, my son has PDD with anxiety, I have experienced depression, and been disabled(losing my career) by fibromyalgia-finding SL a good place when feeling isolated! One of the things you show in your video is that you can laugh at yourself. We all have to, we have to liten up!

I've enjoyed your videos, because of your teching and your character. You have shown me your joy, of just listening to the universe and let it wash over you. It may be your difficulties, but I find that it's your 'embrace' of them and your honesty about your struggle that is endearing, enduring and the most """Human""" quality of all. And then learn more about my self and get to apply it to others. As we used to say in the army, "You're a fine man, leading by example!"

Some of us are slow entering into the world of Torley but watching a video he has about guitar sounds software I was immediately taken with his musical talent and enthusiasm about life. As one that deals with Bi-Polar and frequency deprivation and was inspired by this timeless message and encouraged to "talk" professionally with a Dr. about it. Torley - I remember growing up on electronic music in the 90's, and you had a bit of a legendary story as 'the techno kid', writing electronic/classical compositions. Back then you were on the radar as this up and coming Aphex Twin type figure. Then, I remember hearing that you had suddenly gone deaf, and kind of fell off the radar. I wondered why 'It's all gone, Pete Tong' didn't mention you. Anyway, your video on SonicCharge Bitspeak just showed up on reddit's sub WATTM. Suddenly I remembered this figure that I looked up to as a kid. Good to hear you speak about your experience, and good to hear you're happy! Cheers

Thanks for sharing, I have to say your videos are enjoyable and informative plus the audio dialog in your videos sounds really fantastic with good presence on my mons, I am assuming you use a separate HQ mic to capture your dialog, as it sounds 100 times better then most of the tinny distorted sounding vids I see on the tube all too often. I am even more impressed with the sound quality based on the fact you say its harder for you to hear whats correct, well I can tell you, that the sound is correct and sounds great, awesome job man keep up the great work.

You are very courageous for posting this. I have social phobia which is hard enough for me to admit. (By the way, There's a certain poetry to the way you speak, Torley. Your word choices and such.) I was diagnosed with aspurger's too, though there has been back and forth between second opinions claiming that i don't have it. I do know I have tourettes, however. Which includes ticks/twitches and OCD and tactile sensitivity. Seeing this reminds me that I think I wanna see a neuropsych.
