Glad to hear it. Now that you have it, the next thing is a diamond wheel. I bit the bullet and bought one and it makes the tool even better.

Thanks for the video! I have just bought a DBS-22 and this was exactly what I needed to see. The offset tip is great :)

Thanks for watching and enjoy your DBS. My bits have all been redone with the Tormek method and cut beautifully.

Looks like a fun hobby as in going out to yard/estate sales to buy up drill bits. If I could implement changes in such a system it's a ratcheting system for the drill bit, or a system that you would hear & feel/get positive feed backs f clicks like a gun scope. So you would do the math on how many clicks you need to do, lock it down and then grind.

Hello Jeff, thank you for the video. I am currently working on a diy grinding jig for the Tormek and would like to know the distance between the P and the S stop. Can you measure this for me? Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany.

13/16 of an inch. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

is that a T8 or the older 2000? I have a 2000 which the info is sketchy about using this jig with it
@JeffFischer1
@JeffFischer1 6 лет назад
It is the 2000, with the a new stone, which my son now owns. The jig itself is well worth the money. I have since bought the T8. That too is worth the money. Thanks for watching.

Jeff, do you dress your stone for course grit, or fine?

Fine, but I have since gotten the diamond wheel (600) and that has made a tremendous difference.

Thanks for sharing. Thinking of getting the same Tormek as you have. You know if its possible to sharpen spade drill bits and auger bits, on the DBS-22?

Thanks for watching. I think the bits work better than new and to resharpen them it will take even less time.

if im correct, from what i saw in the background you are a woodworker like myself. those bits are designed for metal, of course they will work in wood because wood is much softer than metal. try to drill som metal and see how many holes you can druill before they get dull. if you can drill 6 to 12 holes in metal then its a good bit, depending on the density of course , more holes if you use lube. if you can only do a couple of holes lube or no lube tgen it's a just a cheap drill bit and no good for metal but you can still drill many holes in wood. i have a question, at the beginning of the video you had laid out some drill bits that you shrapened with your new DBS-22, here is where you lost me completely.....the DBS-22 box was still sealed. i said to myself, holy shit, how did he do that. Are you a woodworker and a magician? hapoy woodworking !
@JeffFischer1

LOL! The power of editing. Just do everything on tape and put the last thing done first. Thanks for watching and I am just a woodworker.

no no, don't say just a woodworker. you are a woodworker with much pride. i've watched a few of your videos, you do a great job. you take your sweet time, and enjoy every minutes. it's what it's all about. put some of your projects on lumberjocks.com if you haven't already. i'm on there as Falegniam, not Falegniame. He's a good guy, but we are two different people. Welcome.

it's a great community of friendly, and helpful fellow woodworkers. you can ask for help, give advice, comment on projects, read comments we leave on your projects. some projects are amazing, some are great, some are good, some are not so great, but we try to boost everyone's ego, and make each other feel good about the work. there are tens of thousands of projects to view. try not to sit in that chair in front of your computer for too long thou lol it's not healthy. you can spend many hours just looking, no kidding. i've had issues with my tablesaw, and have asked for advice, others were more than willing to help. anyway, i'll shut up. check it out. happy woodworking, and "always" be safe.
