Incredibly, astonishing, work. Now now, you already may know how I type out long comments, but, this time I will write even more, just to show a bit of my appreciation for your work. I'm just astonished: I woke up to see you actually beat Torment Therapy using your ruleset for all challenges you've done, aside from the 50v1 video you did a while back. I didn't believe at first, but no, no joke no nothing. You've genuinely beaten the challenge, with the additional bonus of not one death! Even with the intentional usage of a glitch for the second zone, that's very highly damn impressive. You had my respect for every other challenge you've done, but, this, you have all the respect I could possibly give. One thing I would like to mention is that you explained the mechanics more than others I feel. (May not be accurate due to memory.) This was a nice addition in my eyes, as knowing the level with the mechanics while you played was a good addition to viewers who may know less of the game. Especially with how you explained the traps, as I never knew those laser like ones were based on proximity. I always got scared during zone 1 of the playthrough with the traps coming very close lol. Again with the nurses behavior as for me they always generally walked towards the location you're at, it's good you pointed it out for others. Lastly with how the nurses are actually always locked onto you unless you vanish or stun them if you got seen. I genuinely never knew that and I thought they just had the eye sight of a god or they were almost always behind me. Another thing was how you handled, showed, explained, whatever word you want to use, your plan for zone 2. I was genuinely confused yet intrigued, I was wondering what your plan could possibly be. But seeing it come into fruition, it made sense. Wonderfully so too. Seeing something like that just made me, well, proud of you genuinely. Seeing the whole playthrough and the plan come out to be, its amazing really. Sometimes I wonder how you even go into challenge runs for the first time, as in I wonder what you even do lol. Whatever it is you may have done, the pay off is worth it, and this is showing. Honestly all of this makes me happy to see you as a creator in general. You've made such high effort videos and it's amazing really, especially for how small of a creator you are. It's amazing to see people like you genuinely try with their content, it's much better than what some people do. Hell even me myself: I make super low effort videos, I mostly just post raw recordings. Hell even some of my videos which are jokes are super low effort. I literally play some random roblox horror game and I just call it a minecraft letsplay intentionally. My closest video with "effort" would be my midnight horrors videos, either the easter event part 2 + 3 at 17 mins, or the seasonal conflict winter solo at 47 mins(?). Both are just pretty hard bosses with no additional challenge other than beating the bosses. I should redirect the attention back to you, you and how that just makes me more grateful of your videos and how you put such effort. It's miles above my content and most others on this platform. I'm proud of you, genuinely, and I wish you the best success. This challenge is truly going to be cemented in Dark Deception history. This is typically the part where I ask questions, if you're okay with answering. My first question is kind of typical, but, what is the estimate on how many hours you've spent, (playtime wise), on this challenge specifically? I am curious to see the result is all. Second question though, do you ever do research before or during the levels when your doing these challenges? Or do you just learn as you go? This could be like their specific spawns, behavior, trap / map layout, ect. Third question, do you have any goals in this channel, or in general? Like as in probably beating chapter 5 when it comes out, growing to a certain amount of subscribers, or whatever else you may have. I'm just curious is all. Thank you, just in general. For this video, showing your true dedication to this game and pushing its limits, and lastly, thank you for making this channel as a whole. Cannot wait to see what's in store next.
I try and tailor my videos towards both experienced and non-experienced Dark Deception players/fans so everyone can enjoy and understand it, because I know these videos will probably get attention from viewers with varying degrees of understanding with the game. I bet some viewers may know everything about the game, whereas some others maybe only watched Markiplier play it once. Even if you're one of those players that knows everything about the game, I still feel like there are some things to take away from this video because nobody has done this challenge before (I think), so I'm the only one with the experience. That's why I try my best to pass on that experience and share every little detail about the challenge that I can, but it's pretty hard to fit it all in and sometimes I'll forget about some details. As for how I go into these challenges for the first time, I often just kinda go for it. I use a trial and error approach, so whenever something goes wrong, I try again but do something a little differently. It's a matter of repeating this process so my strategy develops and improves. One of the hardest things that can happen is when you reach a point where nothing seems to be working, no matter what you do. That's when you need to figure out what's going wrong and re-assess your strategy, otherwise you could get stuck and not make any progress. Thank you, your kind words mean a lot. 🙂 I do put a lot of time into making these videos, and I strive to make content which hasn't been seen before. I'll admit, it's fairly easy for a game like Dark Deception because the game's following isn't as large compared to others such as FNAF. If it did have a large following, I bet somebody else would have S-Ranked Torment Therapy tabletless a long time ago. One thing I know could be better is my video editing, but I make the most of what skills I currently have. Now, to answer your questions: 1. I probably spent less time on this compared to when I did the challenge for Bearly Buried, and that's mainly because Torment Therapy is a smaller level so there's not as much to learn, and I also practiced this challenge in a slightly different way. For Bearly Buried and all the other levels, I would restart from the very beginning if I failed, but this time I swapped between save files so I could practice from various points of the level, such as the boss fight and Zone 2 without needing to go through Zone 1 first. This was also useful to skip the intro sequence. I don't recall too well, but my first practice attempts probably took place in February. These were just minor, preliminary tests to see if the challenge may actually be possible and just to experiment with the Reaper Nurse A.I. I practiced things such as getting the nurses stuck on doors and the medial apparatus in these rooms 7:53. I probably didn't spend much time during this period, so somewhere between 3-6 hours possibly. March was probably when the strategy first started to form. This was a long process for Zone 1 because of its difficulty, and I also gave Zone 2 and the boss fight some tries. This might have took between 5-8 hours. April was a continuation of this process and I finally managed to find a strategy to beat the boss. I even put together a video to demonstrate what I learned so far, but there was nothing worth showing for Zone 2. The video is here if you're interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7MMj_eKOKDY.html Not long after uploading the video, I made further improvements to the strategy. I'd say a put in more time during this period than March, so somewhere around 9-12 hours. I took a break in May, but then returned for this month where I practiced constantly. I was determined to see this challenge through because I found a new strategy for Zone 1 (waiting at the doors and cutting through the central area like this 7:21) and was then eventually able to beat Zone 1 deathless for the 1st time! I continued making further optimisations to Zone 1 (like grabbing the 2 shards near the defibrillator trap which I mentioned here 8:24, and also going through the left doors instead of the central doors which I mentioned here 13:57 but I forgot to use that strategy in this video), and then I started to understand The Matron's mechanics more during the boss fight and eventually discovered a much better way of defeating her. I put in about 20-30 hours during this month, so to answer your question in full, I approximate that I took about 46.5 hours in total, and I think that's a realistic guess based on my Steam stats. 🙂 2. I learn as I go, but I will sometimes use hacks to freeze the game to see where the nurses spawn or see what they're doing off camera. I might have checked the wiki once to see the full map of Zone 1, but I usually prefer to learn the map layout by actually playing. The same applies to the location of traps and double doors. 3. My goal has just been accomplished, which was to S-Rank Dark Deception's levels using the minimal number of powers and no map. When Chapter 5 releases, it only makes logical sense to see if those could be beaten as well. As to where to go from here... I touched upon that at this point in the video 39:48. And no, I don't really have any subscriber goals. I hope those answers are sufficient. 🙂
@@sharkfan2 and I thought I was the one who wrote a lot damn haha. But anywho, thank you for all the writing and work you’ve done into writing this reply, it does mean a lot to me in all honesty. I’m kind of very tired and somewhat stressed so I’ll do my best to reply since I don’t want to leave you hanging. As for your style or what you may want to call it, yeah it does fit well with both newer players and more experienced ones, which is probably a win win scenario I think. So good job on you for making a decision like this. Also yeah, even if your experienced in the game, all of this information is quite valuable since the normal typical experienced player hasn’t even tried something like this. Good on you for trying to include details too, don’t sweat it if you can’t add every detail or you just forget things, currently you have a good mix of information, comedy, and explaining your current plan / thought process, (in my eyes.) As for how you go into challenges, yeah it does make sense. It’s a very strategic ‘if it works it works until it doesn’t work’ kind of system you just repeat and make changes to in necessary. But, it’s also a good thing acknowledging that you’ve gone on a wrong path and you need to redo part of your plan, that takes bravery in a sense, as well as a very not stubborn person. Though then again you must be very well accommodated with this. Well, you’re certainly welcome that’s for sure. You striving to make content not done before is certainly doing well, and I applaud you for such. Hell you did something many legitimately thought was just impossible nothing else, and yet here we are. Sure dark deception might not the largest game, but that doesn’t undermine your achievements though. You’re probably the first to do these, and you should be proud, in which I’m proud of you. Also your video editing currently is amazing, if you feel the need to make it even better I’m definitely allowing it, it’s your channel I’m not allowed to just not allow it. All I’m saying is that your current editing skills are phenomenal for your style of content, so good job on that. Thank you for responding to that question, I’m amazed in the amount of detail there is. I can’t even comment on specific things in it I’m that tired, but what I will say is that it’s all quite interesting to read for myself, like he small bits of information segmented by months, the facts you mentioned, and the total playtime of the challenge. Quite nice. As for this one that’s pretty nice and also understandable, I do not have too much to say about it but it is nice to hear your learning process of doing these challenges. Lastly, honestly that’s just fair enough. Makes sense after all haha. One thing I do want to add even though it may not be a possibility or a concern, if you ever run out of dark deception content, don’t be afraid to branch out. Everyone would support you if you played something else I believe. Though I doubt that’s even going to happen any time soon. But congratulations on completing your main goal currently, hope your challenges goes well for the next chapter 5 as well as anything else you may do. Last thing to mention, at least your almost at 1000 subscribers, that’s pretty exciting isn’t it? But anywho, thank you for this response. It helped a lot in answering my questions and it honestly genuinely has made me feel better too. Just thank you for being who you are really, it’s amazing. If you want to talk on Discord, (which you don’t have to since I’m basically a stranger I’m aware I’ll take literally no offence I understand,) then my username is 0tsukin Lastly man though, genuinely, thank you for making all of your content with passion, and taking the time to reply to me. I hope the rest of your day goes the best it could possibly be.
I thought this challenge was already completely impossible, and would require Dream-like luck. Something that would be like penguinz0’s first bounty in difficulty. But yeah, I just want to say… You are hella underrated.
Oh dang it, this came out while i was sleeping. Well what can i say? You did the impossible. Without a doubt, you are the greatest DD player of all time. I wouldn't be surprised if you trued to do this with chapter 5 levels. Well take care and get some deserved rest.
I think I will be taking an extended break after this. I've been attempting this challenge tirelessly for the last couple of weeks just to get this challenge done for you all, even though I said in a community post that I wouldn't until a later point this year. I will give it a try with Chapter 5's levels if they seem possible, but I guess we'll see. 🙂
Your challenge videos are always so entertaining and the captions you add always make the videos so engaging, hope to watch more when chapter 5 comes out! :D
HELL YEAH I was wondering how you'd beat zone two since. yknow. that things infamous but glad you got through it anyway like seriously. every level without tablet? without powers (unless forced)- that's an achievement! like /gen adore your work (the only dark deception youtube i can watch without getting jumpscared) keep it up dude I'm rooting for you
BIG CONGRATS! And the fact you did it with 0 deaths is stunning! I look forward to any future videos, especially challenges. I am curious if you'll attempt the 'no running + minimum powers' challenge buuuut I can't imagine that's exactly a *fun* one, heh.
well you did it.i cloud be surprised but the fact that you din't give up is amazing to me i whould just not try or make the level easier for me to beat this challenge great job👏👏👏.also i just noticed that the soul shards in zone 1 are above 4 black Squares wich is intresting mabye the reaper nurses make does Squares evrytime a mortal dies here 🤔
I think you will be forced to use powers to some extent (the boss fight and to enter the ambulance) but I’m guessing you’ll try to do it the minimum that’s needed.
I think a fun idea you could do for a challenge is simail to the 50v1 challenge, but themed for each level where possible. Only level 1 powers allowed, no TK. Or prehaps where you have the play every level backwards like it was the gold watchers. Or a challenge where you can only move while using powers. I can praobly keep going and make them REALLY hard :3
Thats mad. I cant even remember where im going even looking at the map. When i completed it. It said my luves lost was around 87, but that was my first time 😳
I didn't do much better on my first try either. 😅 I remember dying over and over again in Zone 2. I had a worse PC back then and the game was very laggy.
I can't even think, How Will You Do Challenge Of Holiday Horror[level 9] and Prison Panic[level 10]!!! I think you will use stun ball to do this challenge!!! Mannequins are the fastest monster Prison Panic will have the most traps in level Even Glowstick will probably add Hard Mode💀💀💀💀💀!!! I think your attempts to complete these chapter 5 levels will take forever [without abilities and map] plus these levels will be huge and they will have the strongest enemies!!!
4:39 do you know what? You act according to the strategy of Ballora from fnaf SL, stop, listen, if they are far away - you move on, except for one thing, they are approaching - you... oh yes, you have no abilities, well, then you make your legs as much as possible
Pretty good so far. 🙂 I managed to reach 1k subscribers recently which is awesome! I'm really grateful for it. But I'm taking a bit of a break at the moment because the Torment Therapy tabletless challenge has worn me out. I already know what video I want to make when I return though.
@@sharkfan2 that’s great! But how it has worn you out is not great lol. I’m just saying but you should have more subscribers and I mean way more with the amount of effort you most likely put into these videos, the fact it has worn you out and how hard it can be is basically shouting you’re underrated. Never give up!
Just wait until there's an enemy that forces you to use a power every so often. That aside, how long did it take you to do this challenge because DAMN?
It took a few months, but I've been busy with other things as well. Like I replied to someone else's comment, I approximate that it took about 46.5 hours in total. Possibly slightly more than that. 🙂
For the part in the beginning where you need to run tests, there is an exploit which allows you to avoid using a sprint to get past the sprint barrier. I believe the third chest x-ray test you can avoid the sprint barrier by following the nurse right after she finishes her dialogue and getting really close to the door right before the barrier appears, putting you past the barrier and letting you spam f to escape without using a sprint, since you are trying to use as little abilities as possible.
@@Braydo79 Nope, it didn't work. There's an invisible barrier that appears as soon as the nurse begins her dialogue and it pushes me too far away from the door.
Please don’t redo this because your power already scares me, but I saw in CoryXKenshins play through that if you hug the door and stay right there as the third test starts, you’ll be in front of the barrier and won’t have to use the speed boost! I have no idea how consistent that is, but I figured I’d share! :D
@@sharkfan2It was said that Holiday Horror alone was bigger and harder than Bearly Buried, which was abysmal, and there’s also the fact that Fear Fortress is 1/3 of the game, js imagine that😅
Hi mate, I would like to ask how do I modify my save file so that I can lock up primal fear and vanish, similarly to what you've done in the 50v1 manor? There's a challenge I wanted to do in Mascot Mayhem, can you please make a video; (I am using the mod of Angelo's also). Really much appreciated, keep up your work!
I can't make a video on it right now unfortunately, but what you need to do is open the SaveSlot.sav file (located in your DDeception/Saved/SaveGames folder) using a hex editor. Then need to look for something like: "BoolProperty..........Primal Unlock", and then in the hex editor, look for the hexadecimal value "1" somewhere after you see that text, and change the value to "0". You need to do the same thing for Vanish. I hope this helps. 🙂 It is a little hard to explain.
Yes, there's a way to stealth around the nurses in Zone 2, but it's very hard to pull off and requires a lot of luck. There are some more problems with it as well, since the nurses can sometimes accidentally use the lifts while wandering around.
@@declansmith6382 Thank you. 🙂 This challenge was very hard. It took many tries before I was finally able to beat it. But overall, I don't think it was quite as hard as Bearly Buried.
At the end you mention an interest in making analysis videos. I was wondering, would you potentially be interested in making a video that analyses and talks about the AI and quirks of enemies in the game? For example, their pathing behaviours?
I'm working on a video right now that talks quite a bit about enemy mechanics, but it doesn't cover every detail as it's not the main focus. A few videos I definitely want to make in the future is to analyse in detail how Hangry works, how the TT boss fight works, and how the in-game timer and ranking system works.
The same thing happened today but this Time my butt actually exploded and I clogged the toilet so bad that I almost used up all of the wipes in the bathroom 😂😂
1:23 I don’t know if this bug is still in the game, but u can open the door without speed boost. U just need while scene go. You can go to the door. (If this bug doesn't exist, i am sorry)
I'm teleporting really far because I'm exploiting a bug. It's pretty diffuclt to explain and it's hard to pull off, so I don't suggest doing it the way I'm doing unless you're a highly experienced player. But to get teleport to work normally, you need to face towards where you need to go, and move up & down on the scroll wheel until the teleport marker appears where you need it to. It's a good thing you have Teleport fully upgraded, as this should help.
That’s why they call it torment therapy this level has tormented you for awhile lol but at least you finally beat it your suffering is over now you may rest
I have an idea if you want to do it and it’s possible, if you can could you try beat chapter one while looking in only one direction? That would be awesome if so and if you want to continue could you try beat other levels in one direction? Chapter 4 will probably be impossible though lol, you can do whatever you want any video, because I know you have some plans when you get back but anyways have a great day and never give up! (If you haven’t done the challenge before you can do it if you want). If
Right now there's also the Epic Games Store, and also PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It's only available as a demo on consoles currently though.
