KWTV News 9 StormTrackers Val and Amy Castor chased a tornadic storm that developed in Beaver County, OK and moved into KS on 5-17-19. In this video, the tornado crosses HWY 54 and overturns a semi.
This is what I have been telling people for a long time: just because you cannot see a condensation funnel, that doesn't mean the tornado isn't on the ground.
Often times, in a high precipitation storm, the condensation funnel with fade in and out or go rain wrapped. Until you've taken a direct hit from a low-end, rain-wrapped EF2, you haven't had fun, lol. Taught me a valuable lesson... albeit, with 3 blown out windows.
you guys didn't even notice the 10 Red orb glowing UFO's. Don't worry I'll point em out for u. Start pausing from 1:25.00- 1:55.00, a big one @1:53:00 Right Side of Screen, about 9 Red Orbs!
Was a customer for 30 years, then they decided to drop my home for "too many claims." One was because they didn't completely fix the roof after a major storm went through, so had to fix the rest of it, but put it on a separate claim instead of adding it to the first one. Then we called about an issue, and decided we didn't need to file a claim, but because a "claim was initiated" whether one was filed or not, it put us over the threshold and our coverage was dropped at the end of the term. I appealed and even offered to have a higher deductible at a higher premium, but they still said no. I'll never go back. I get calls from my old agent about once a month and I ignore them. State Farm is worst than some of the budget insurance companies out there. Go to an independent agent that has more than one company they service, and you'll get good deals and good service.
Terrible delivery completely missed the real tornado knocking the semi over when she continues to film at the wrong direction even after the man tells her that’s not the real one. 😂 🤦🏻♂️
@@usfanlovesjiwoo1978 What was the driver supposed to do? Turn back? If he had refused to drive during "poor weather conditions", they probably would've fired him for that. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
This is the most surreal tornado video I’ve seen...I have so much respect for you guys for remaining calm and especially for checking on the driver. Good to know there are still good people out in this world ♥️
Amazing to see these guys, strangers at that all working together even tho they don't know each other, go out of their way to help this trucker in the middle of a tornado strike. Kudos to these hearts of gold 💛 helping to save this man's life!
lmaoo. I'm laughing because this is soo true. As a dispatcher I know a few of my co workers who only think about the status of the load vs the safety of others.
@@alexisk4407 and that's why most of us driver quit and go to another company yall never been behind the wheel of a semi only behind a computer yall get to go home daily and we dont. So fuck yall

WOW!!! 😲😲 Just saw the truck start to buckle and turnover right when the camera panned off to the right at 2:34. Count your blessings mister truck driver that you survived. 🙏🙏
My husband was a truck driver, and I know how evil dispatcher can be. They will reap for it. Is the nature angry or the Creator? Haggai 2:6-7 For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. Job 37 By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen. Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, that they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the whole earth. He causes it to come, whether for correction, or for His land, or for mercy. Ezekiel 13 Therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it." Every product has a manual, and so as the earth. The words of God is called an instruction of life and teaches how the inhabitants of the earth must live in order to obtain life and peace forever. We can see eternal life through a tree. You cut it down, but it grows back. The tree live forever because of their obedience to the Lord God. They give food and shelter to the people for free. The Creator rewarded them for their righteousness. Religions do not tell you the complete truth about the Lord God but partially. They only teach He is the God of love. The words of God said He is a Government with laws and commandments. He defines righteous obedient and evil disobedient to His Law. Although He loves all His creatures, but He punishes sinners for hurting the righteous people. He controls all the living things with His Spirit. He uses evil to kill another evil and commands natures such as the wind, water, and clouds to plague the disobedient ones. Mathew 7 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall. The Law of Moses is the ways and righteousness of God and contains His laws and commandments. The Lord God sent it through Moses to teach the inhabitants of the earth how to live righteous life and reap the reward of obedience which is peace and eternal life. Whoever rejects it will be cut off. The children of Israel was almost cut off, and the country Israel was desolate for almost 2000 years for violating it. Lord Jesus was crucified to redeem His people in Israel from curse and death for transgressing the Law of Moses. In our days, religions as Christian, governments and businesses reject the Law of Moses. As a result, the Lord God is sending His anger to manifest His judgment upon the violators. It will not stop until the people on earth learn to obey His Law. Prophecy foretold He will burn the inhabitants of the earth. Choose life and peace by obeying it. Isaiah 24 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are BURNED, and FEW MEN ARE LEFT. Isaiah 26 For when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. The Spirit and the bride, Daughter of Zion, Mount Zion, Heavenly Jerusalem Gabriel, angel of the Lord
The scene where that tornado is shadowing the background of the overturned truck looks apocalyptic! Seems like the first funnel played hide and seek/tag you're it with the truck driver! Thank God he's still alive!
thank you val and amy for stopping without hesitation the driver is a very good friend of mine I just picked him up from dodge city and he is shaken but ok. he sends his gratitude to all and thx for capturing such amazing footage
As people gather to help the trucker, the tornado looks on, deciding whether it should return to the scene. The timing and vantage point of this footage is surreal, outstanding !
Val Castor showed what a good person he is, stopping to help the driver. Giving up the chase, momentarily. Good humanitarian. And also, Amy is amazing.
Some do have a door in the back above the bed, although I've never seen a cascadia (this truck) with one. I think it should be mandatory because if the engine catches fire while you're sleep you're pretty much toast.
He'll need this video for insurance purposes, because you couldn't tell the thing was on the road at that moment. Hopefully he'll get the help he needs.
Ehhh, I’ve been driving 22 years and he won’t get any type of citation but it may still be considered preventable. Normally if a severe weather warning was issued and you’re still driving any weather related accident is preventable. It most likely won’t get the driver in trouble.... but you never know.
I'll be honest, I can't quite tell if he was pulled over. If he was still driving forward, despite several minutes of obvious warnings there was a tornado ahead, I can see the insurance company making a strong argument. There was a cop car a quarter mile behind him, so their testimony would be the deciding factor. When it comes to having to pay out a quarter of a million dollars, as despicable as insurance companies are, I can understand them saying "you had time to turn around, you saw it coming towards you".

There were atleast 3 sub-vortices. So unstable. With this video, you are showing people that a larger vehicle doesn't mean 'safer' in a tornado. (I grew up in Tornado Alley) Thank you for helping the Trucker! Stay safe, stay blessed! 💖

@@illuminated33rd LOLOL 😂🤣 good eyes, but not good enough!! Those are the clearance lights on top of the wind farm wind turbans!! They all blink at the same time!! 🙄🙄
I’ve been watching Val and Amy for a while. It’s warming to see chasers do the right thing and stop for assistance. The roads are clogged with people looking for a thrill, but true chasers always stop after a tornado interacts with man to see if they can assist. I encourage fellow chasers to seek training in first aid and carry a minimal of tools to help in an eventuality, such as an adjustable wrench for gas shut off, gloves for debris removal and minimal first aid kit. The public should be happy to see chasers and not consider us a hinderance. Be the true chaser!
Val Castor Gary England's#1 man when it came to getting tornado footage and locations. thanks Val for your service to KWTV 9 and to Oklahoma and that's coming from a truck driver from Norman,OK
That footage of that huge truck on its side and a perfect twister with lightning flashes in the background, is one of the best pieces of work I think I've ever seen!! I've followed tornado videos even before Tornado Chaser's on the Discover Ch.. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and for helping that trucker.. 🤗❤️🤗
This is amazingly steady filming! Stunning honestly. Also stopping to that trucker, so kind. I would hope if something like that happened to my mom someone would stop for her.
superreverbfreak . driver manager said you should have taken your break 4 hrs ago ...should have checked weather report..well we're sorry but we have to let you go!!!!----
First video ive seen chasers stop and help someone right away. They usually keep on chasing and drive right by. And ive watched hundreds of videos. Good job guys, good job!!!! 👍
I commend you guys for being kindhearted and helping the truck driver. You both are so brave. I would have crapped my pants and passed out in that situation. Bless your hearts!
Road: *vehicles getting pushed all over the place, a semi is tossed onto it's side* Camera: pans right past the road and to an empty field where nothing is happening. Seriously though, altogether a really amazing video. The shot of the truck on it's side with the tornado looming in the near backround is terrifyingly beautiful. Thanks for the video!
Val and Any are the BEST out there. Im proud to say I live in their city. They always keep us safe. They work with the BEST meteorologist David Payne, Chanel 9, Oklahoma City. Thank you Gary England for bringing him here.
Serious Shout out to all the men and women who came to the aid of that truck driver.💪🏽💕 What's really weird is it seemed to play dead, then pop up undetected right on that truck. 2019 and 2020 were there years I saw the craziest weather traveling 2000 miles from cali to the midwest. The states that made my nerves be on edge were Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, Kansas, Texas and Missouri. Ohio was hit hard in 2019. Colorado's mountains produced some of the most strangest and heavy rain I have ever seen. Oklahoma gives me the chills with those windmills. I found myself watching them for anything to drop down on them at any moment. The air is electrified non stop. In Nebraska I saw a massive tornado circulating around a mountain. Hundreds of us drivers witnessed it and it took several minutes of driving like a bat out of hell to get it in my rear view mirror. Utah had a creepy vibe to it that made my native antenna go on alert. Crazy winds on those high ridges. In 2019 almost all the farms along old 66/hwy 44 and highway 40 were under water. In 2020 while in Texas I drove right under a tornado. I keep thinking why did it suddenly stop raining and the sun is on my car when just a second ago it was raining cats, dogs and zebras, plus it was dark like late evening. I knew why. 🙀 Much Respect to those who drive trucks back and forth to bring us goods from state to state. Much Respect to storm chasers. And much respect the farmers out there in those states. 🌻 🌽 🥦 💕
Wow, a real scary situation, especially when the semi got turned on its side. Thanks for checking on the driver, and thanks for sharing the excitement. Wow
in severe weather most fire departments (even volunteer) have people at the station on standby. those guys looked like they just happened to be in the right place at teh right time.
Wow amazing video footage! You guys are awesome to stop and help the Truck Driver, and you were rewarded with still getting fantastic footage of that crazy tornado in the background
Phew, I would never underestimate a tornado/supercell no matter how small. Glad the guy's okay, and nice to see altruism from the good people here. 👍👍👍
just got caught in a tornado situation an hour ago in the DFW area 1/10/2020 heading south on I-35. Absolutely nothing then suddenly BAM - the wind, rain and hail moved my car and all the power went out so it was dark and loud and LITERALLY thought i was going to die. I’m glad the driver is okay and thank y’all for checking on him ❤️🙏🏻
I saw that! I said dang man. The windshield was made of real glass. Stop drop and roll, no hunting at the barbershop if u catch my drift😉 Where was the indergater flatulence module? Probably in the sleeper. Ok thanks.
So yelling and screaming whilst swerving from lane to shoulder is the best in the business? Add to that missing the footage of the truck being blown over, is that really “the best in the business”? Moving that camera around like she’s in a washing machine or having seizures is “ the best in the business”? I think you should re-evaluate your standards for “the best in the business”
Thumbs up for stopping and checking, and waiting until emergency responders. Must have hurt at the same time to have to let the tornado get away, but you made the right decision and we all commend you for it.
Just love the Castor duo. Between them and David Payne, its Spring nostalgia here in Moore,OK. My go to channel when weather gets bad. Been watching them since I was young!
