Plow with it loose. When you hit a large rock it gives instead of breaking the mount. It will always go straight when you get gling unless you hit something. Better to have give like the plow jumping than breaking the rear end.
Great point! There is an adjustment on the “frog” of the plow that helps to steer it. It’s like a rudder against the fresh cut earth. I have gotten into far less trouble when the plow can find it’s way without being locked to the hitch.
