Thanks for all the videos and tips Marc. I really appreciate them. I am a salmon troller from lake Champlain VT. We hit Ontario out of Oswego NY a few weeks back for the first time in fifteen years. Boated seven ten pounders in a day and a half. Had a blast. Never fished for anything else in Ontario in the past other than stagers around labor day. This time thanks to your videos and captain Richard Hajekis videos we we able to finally get the silver fish. A very rewarding few days. My question for you is about my fishfinder. I have a four year old 18 ft boat and a lowrance fixed unit 200 kz only with downscan. Get good pictures of bottom and bait near bottom but never marks suspended (where I want to see salmon marks). Ive since learned that I believe I need a transducer with low and medium frequency 50 low and 83 medium. Any suggestions/help? We know how to catch a few fish with our probe and general knowledge but would be nice to find a few marks once in a while. We fished out in five hundred feet of water catching them down 80 to ninety five feet down . Thanks for any help and I will see you in the next video - Dan
I’m not an expert on Lowrance units but I’d recommend either a 50 or 83 transducer. I have heard some local guys rave about the 3:1 Lowrance but I don’t know anything about it.
@@KingsLandingSportFishing Thanks Marc. That's what I was thinking. When you are trolling past two hundred feet do you use the 83, 50 frequency? An I correct that 200 is no good for trollers? Really appreciate the response.
Yikes. I was hoping to get out one more time for rainbows and cohos. I appreciate all your reports. Your project salmon gear is awesome but it doesn’t sound good on the north shore right now.
