Shut up Marner. They say “Stanley cup or bust”, you should respond with a resounding “yes”. Being proactive is better than being reactive. It’s been eight years and winning a Stanley cup would negate all the monotony and hardship that would lead to that point. Something needs to change, and this interview is making me wish we got Necas for Marner and resigned bertuzzi. Him bringing up injuries is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Injuries are not your problem unless your the injured one. And do you plan on getting injured? Probably not, but I’m sure you plan on leaving in pursuit of that 13 million dollars. As for forwards, Bert's production can be replaced by committee since he under-performed based on his contract value so its not as dire as you think. And the D has improved greatly. Not sure if it will result in 2 rounds being won but at least make better arguments

I completely understand 1:2 of marners comment of "adding different players in different places". Leafs have needed a Tanev beside rielly for 10 years. OEL beside Hakanpa/Liljegren is huge over Giordano Liljegren. McCabe Benoit have heart and it shows night in and night out and I expect McCabe to do McCabe but Benoit to take another step. As for the forward aspect of this roster nothing has changed. It's on the players especially Marner to take a step and not just grind out his contract year. Nylander got his contract year contract and he is no JT miller. All I see in Marner besides his incredible talent is the dollar signs in his eyes and how he can get as comparable to Matthews or Daisaitles contracts as humanly possible no matter where he ends up.

Wishing the Leafs all the best. I'm not sure if they will win a cup but I think they can go to the conference finals with this leaned out roster. I think JT waives his no trade or whatever and moves on this deadline. Leafs can get about 3-4 skaters and or assets back to get the depth they need to roll four lines equally. Defense by committee.

Hes a good player the problem is this core 5 reilly included have not got it done in 7+ seasons now 8 , like enough is enough they keep the 5 guys who dont show up nearly enough as they are being paid ...year ...after ...year They gave them all NMC like skittles as well which is part of the problem , this group just does not have what it takes man , every year they just add bottom 6 pieces every year the same excuse same patterns they finally added.some.decent defense , but did absolutely nothing upfront and scoring goals was the major problem in all the years we were out in round 1 , they dont go to the net they dont battle hard enough , they dont want to get roughed up to make that important play This team going needs a major change , trade marner or let him walk end of season , let tavares walk orrrrrr hire him on leafs management in some sort of a role if hes interested but if he does not want to then he has to walk as well, we need all that cap space to really revamp this damn team !!!
