2:00 Brian’s “singing frog” analogy is both hilarious and ridiculously accurate.. For anyone who’s never seen the old WB singing frog cartoon, do yourself a favor and watch it and you’ll understand….
Back at the monsters of rock ,Oakland colosseum 1977, outdoors, perfect concert weather. Ted Nugent headliner. AC/DC opens the show, You can see Nugents band standing side stage laughing at the Aussie midgets, even pointing fingers at them. By the third song they were rocking out because AC/DC put on their best show ever, Ive seen them many times, It was like they had something to prove.... When Bon said “ let me take off my shirt” and had the crowd mesmerized by the ROCK! I think Nugents band were fans after that, they weren’t laughing anymore.
1979, not 1977. Seems like a typo, because we were there, too. That was a soggy day; lot of rain for summer in the Bay Area. I wasn't very impressed with Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush...I don't think he lived up to the myth at that show. And it rained. And then it stopped between band sets, and the clouds began to part, the sun was shining, it was dry, and AC/DC hit the stage and was the best band on the planet. If you were there, you know what I mean. Aerosmith was better than at the Cow Palace two years earlier, and Ted Nugent was king in the late 70's....But AC/DC was the best set that day. BTW, there is bootleg video of the AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Ted Nugent sets on You Tube.
Nugents band would have stopped laughing at the Scottish midgets because they started crapping themselves at the thought of having to follow them on! By the way I am a Scot and have lived in Australia for the past 30yrs. I love telling Aussies that AC/DC are the best rock band that ever came out of Scotland.
@@JohnSmith-su3ze Australian, immigrants from Scotland before you call them poms. Angus lives in Sydney still, Malcolm and bon laid to rest in Sydney and Fremantle . Phil Rudd Aussie,Brian and cliff are poms but not the original line up but excellent additions.
I was there too! What an amazing HOT day! AC/DC stole the show. The place uplifted when they went on stage and then again when Angus and Malcolm appeared on the stage for the Stones set. What a day!
A GREAT example of ANGUS' tone here. Secret to ANGUS' tone (besides the Gibson SG Standard w/Built in Compressor into a Marshall '59 Super Plexi Lead Amp) is by turning the Bass almost all the way down. ANGUS then gets all Mid-Range clout.....GREAT RECORDING HERE ! THANKS !!
That was from the massive 1/2 million audience Toronto Rocks concert back in 2003. The stage you see them playing on in this video is just the rehearsal stage.
Yeh seen it on here, you don't get shit like that anymore and apparently half left after ACDC finished. You'd probably want to,can you imagine 400,000 leaving at once
