So enjoyable! One thing I enjoyed in my visits to Toronto was the diverse neighborhoods - like Little Italy, Greektown, Chinatown, and the Beaches neighborhood. So much to see and do there - thanks for another great video!
We love the diversity of Toronto too! You can eat a different country's food every time you go out, and you don't even have to leave the city. Thank you for watching :)
I just watched ur video last week right before my trip to Montreal. Good to see that you guys are in my hometown Toronto too now. Haven’t been to the soup dumpling place so defn will need to try that out.
Kensington Market and Chinatown are lots of fun to walk around, and have great food choices! We love just wandering around these areas on a hot summer day on the weekend. Hope you're able to visit again soon and check them out. Thanks for watching :)
I loved this video and have subscribed to your channel. The information is useful and entertaining, but now it is 2:30 a.m. in Ohio and you have made me hungry! I look forward to catching up with your previous vids and looking forward to the next one.
You are very welcome! I look forward to kicking back and enjoying a mini Canadian vacation whenever I see a new video from you guys. And what fun tour guides you are!
After that huge burger at the start of the video I would not be able to eat anything else for the remainder of the day ! How can you guys eat all that food lol
That burger was huge and really tasty, but we did eat all that food over a few days lol. It's a good thing we walk a lot to help keep the pounds off. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it :)
Hey Tom and Mike, another outstanding video. I've been catching up on the back catalogue after a few trying weeks surrounding my move after 6 months in Calgary to Burlington. I believe the night you stayed at the Regis hotel, I was staying at the Clarion 2 star hotel, generous, in Pembroke On.. However, the following nights in Ottawa were good at the BrookStreet Hotel which I recommend. The Montreal Chinatown visit was wonderful. Whenever I stay in Montreal, I stay at the Mariott Courtyard just barely off of China town. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't believe I ever ate at any of the restaurants covered. I definitely will in the future. I feel like I'm almost locked into Tom's true restaurant review rating. They are always postitive. I've learned that the amalgum of Tom's smile, nod, thumbs up and/or how wide his eyes go is the true review. I really enjoyed Mike's commentary on some of the art installations both in Kensington market and in the distillery district. I was drawn to many of the paintings in your apartment in one of your initial videos. Hopefully, you can take us on a gallery tour in the future. Additionally, I was pleased to hear that you were recognised while out and about and that it was received so favorably. You both have many fans that wish you all the best and you can count me among them. You should consider a subscriber meetup depending how long you are sticking around. Just don't do it too quickly, I still need a few weeks to sort things :) Kelly
Hi Kelly, we hope you're starting to get settled into your place in Burlington. We really enjoyed our trip to Toronto and our stay at the St. Regis. Our place in Montreal is a short walk to Chinatown, so we often walk through there and really enjoy grabbing a bite to eat there. We try and do a fair amount of searching for places to eat with good reviews before we try them. We have eaten at some places and filmed them, then we don't include them in a video because we didn't like it and don't feel comfortable recommending them. And yeah, Tom's face is a dead give away (no poker face there haha). We do love checking out different types of art (and architecture). Most of the artwork from our place in Toronto was given to Tom's daughter, but we have kept a few pieces that are stored. We were so surprised that someone recognized us, that we forgot to record it lol. Not sure about a subscriber meetup, but I guess it's something we could think about. We really appreciate you sticking with us on this journey. Take care :)
Kensington Market is my favourite place in Toronto. I love all the food, and there's so many. You have showed me some that we haven't tried yet! We will have to get back for that burger place, looked fab! That triple burger may be too big for us though. Chinatown is great too! Thanks for making us appreciate our own city a little more :)
We had the triple burger a couple of years ago. We split it between the two of us, and it was still a lot to eat. The dumplings were really juicy, so be careful if you try some :)
Toronto I believe is the only large city in Canada I have never visited. Anywhere that has a Chinatown is worth the visit. That one neighborhood looks really quaint. Any cheap nice hotels or hostels in that area of the city? The food is making me very hungry.
The great part in Toronto is that Chinatown and Kensington Market are right beside each other, so it's easy to wander through both areas. Not really sure about any hotels or hostels in the area. We sure did enjoy the food :)
Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it! We're not really sure what the business hours might be for the stores, although we would think most of the restaurants would be open until later in the evening.
This is a very cool area. Tovah is from Ontario (about 2 hours from Toronto) and has been to this area several times. So vibrant and fun. We prefer visiting smaller towns but heading to a city for a little city fix every now and again is great. Next time we are in TO we would love to head to the market for some Amazing food.
It was fun to be back in Toronto as a tourist this time. Of course, heading out for some great food makes it even more enjoyable lol. Where in Ontario is Tovah from?
@@TakeTimeToTravel LOL yes it is. If you are every traveling back out that way be sure to hit up one of the many cheese factories from some curd. It is a little different than the Quebec stuff that you would get in Montreal.
Hi Susan! We made this video in late August of 2021. It probably wasn't that busy because we try and film early before restaurants get too busy, and also, it was during covid times. Thank you for watching :)
These people must be getting paid to comment so on Kensington, that's the only reason I can think of as to why they are so positive about it! I gave been there and simply put, it's a dump!!!! The streets are filthy, graffiti everywhere, and I'm not talking Banksie, more the sort created by mindless hooligans!! There are a few interesting shops, but very few it also reeks, if what I'm not entirely sure!!? And every lamp post or upright has something plastered to it which adds to the grimy, grim aspect of the place. It's a very seedy area. One which is populated by some of the poorest souls you could imagine, so drug addled it is sad to see! I went mud afternoon. I wouldn't go in the evening. So in short I can't understand, and I am a fairly relaxed easy going individual, why anyone would recommend the area, never mind go there. My advise is to avoid it.
You're right, at one time Kensington Market area was predominantly Jewish, but that was many years ago. Now, while the area is quite diverse, it's mostly Chinese residents. We love both the Kensington Market area, as well as Chinatown. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it :)
You need to work on the sound of your narrative....the highs and lows of your voices...the emphasis on certain words....guys...come on ...have you listened to yourselves? Made me want to switch you off. JUST TALK NATURALLY.
