Just found your channel recently… great videos, thanks! 🙏 Going to Toronto for first time ever in a couple weeks, and your videos are so much better than the standard tourism videos. Much more interesting than those, and were learning a lot about the lay of the land and the history! 👏 👏 👏
Great to find a RU-vid channel that covers Toronto history. Oddly enough I have seen some of the city's history on other channels like the History Guy and .I found out. I am a seasonal resident on Center Island living on a boat at the marina. I got interested in the history of the marina itself but could not find anything online. But I discovered that the City's website has a page with aerial photographs of the city from 1942 till the 1990's. It shows the progression of the 10 years it took to build the Toronto Island Marina. It was one of several centenary projects. Centerville amusement park was also another centenary project opening in 1967 with the marina. Maybe you could do some stories on what other centenary projects in Toronto.
So, what does it say about Toronto that it keeps pushing it's shoreline? Is it a smart way to create the useful space we need with our trash, or is this as bad as other urban sprawl? Or is there some other motivation going on here that I'm missing?
