Toronto to fly Israel's flag at city hall to mark independence day 

The only flag we should be flying is the Canadian Flag.

I would say the decision to fly the flag of Israel at city hall with what is going on in the world, wasn’t made by the most intelligent person in Toronto.

I miss the old days when immigrants were welcomed because they assimulated to our society and flourished as oppossed to trying to change our society to customize to them! City Hall has just been blocked off to public access. This is the first time in years, apart from major renovations, that I can recall seeing public space closed to the public..

I would like to see other flags flying in City hall on their National Day. There is nothing special about Israel.

So many people here are bothered and worried about raising the Israeli flag today in Toronto. Clearly, ignorance of international relations and history. We get it, and we all know the conflict of the Middle Eastern countries right now. But some, if not, many are not aware of this. Raising the Israeli flag has nothing to do with what's going on in the Middle East. It is an annual custom and tradition of Toronto to raise and fly the flags of every nation during their independence days in respect of their community presence here in Canada, and their countries' relationship to Canada. Canada is a land of immigrants from around the world, pro-diversity, pro-multiculturalism, and a pro-linguistic nation, etc. I saw several times in different years from the past that the Toronto city hall is raising and flying the flag of my country the Philippines every 12th of June during the celebration and commemoration of my country's independence day. Toronto is raising and flying flags from different countries during their respective independence days.
