I recently moved to Calgary, Alberta from Caledon, Ontario. I agree with most of the things Rishabh said except for two things: 1. Rental market is crazy right now and I don’t see any such incentives offered when signing lease. Rents here has increased almost 28% and the competition is high not just in Calgary but everywhere in Canada. 2. When people talk about taxes being less, I agree it’ll be less for buying a car, furniture, packaged/processed food, etc. But my day to day expenses will mostly be fresh produce and it’s not taxed. I honestly don’t see too much of a difference. All in all I am loving Calgary! Hoping to make great memories here 🤠

I also moved to Calgary after living 6 years in Toronto & GTA. I feel my quality of life is way much better than Toronto in Calgary.

This guy’s numbers are quite off. 4:29 - Car insurance in Toronto is not $500-700 on average. The average is $150-300. Rent in Calgary for 1 bedroom is at least 1400, and for 2 BR is surely above 2000. Could easily go up to 2500-2600 in downtown. Plus, the vacancy rate is

The rent in Calgary has gone up now! The free incentives that you were getting were happening before January. Right now 600 - 800 would get you a private room in a shared house. Around 1200 for private studio and 1400 - 1800 for private 1 or 2 bedroom apartment.

The only thing that is different is that you get to save a big chunk on rent, gas and groceries in alberta. In toronto you're literally living paycheck to paycheck unless you have a 6 figure job.
