Honestly jeeps are not bad I've owned a few, just like the 4runner so much better for what we do. It's the Goldie Locks of Off- Road vehicles.

I’ve owned both vehicles and currently own a 2021 4Runner Venture package and love it. Jeeps are great except for the recalls, highway driving and towing and 4Runner beats the Jeep in those categories.

@@jimerinrose6235 that is the only thing that a Jeep is better at and they brake way more often. For everything else the 4runner is WAY better.

Yea it it doesn't have an easy life. We also tow with it all the time. Only had two issues. Rear main seal failed twice under warranty from all the the mud and dirt getting in the bell housing. Once I started blocking the inspection hole and rinsing it out with water I have not had a single issues. I also wear out the stock lower control arm bushings about every 40-50k. The RCI skids looks I did a tour in Iraq and hit a few IED's.The rest of the steering, CV's, OME lift and SPC adjustable upper control arms have been flawless no issues. Regular Joe I bought it new Oct 17 and it has around 70k now. The only real issue I’ve had is 2 rear main seals going bad. They replaced them both under warranty. After the second repair they said it was from mud and sand getting into the bell housing. Now I duct tape up the inspection hole before I go off road and spay it out with a hose once in a while. So far it’s been working and no leaks. Also lower control arm bushings wore out from all the off-roading and I had to replace them. Absolutely Love this truck!

Frank Leyva Thanks! A lot of it is in Florida Hard Rock off Road park in Ocala FL Yucca Pens, Babcock Ranch, and Lazy Springs in SW Florida. Citrus just North of Tampa. The rest of the clips were from some of the other places we’ve been PA,VA,TN,NC,AZ,CO,UT,CA Honestly you have all you really need. I have a 3inch OME Lift 33’s KO2’s skids/slider rear diff breather and Snorkle. I also pack recovery gear.

Hi thanks for the comment. Jeeps are great off-roader's. I've owned a few over the years. That said if your are driving 2,500 miles cross country to a trail which would your take?

@@jimerinrose6235 hands down the 4Runner. My 4Runner is my main sled. I drove a 2006 LJ for years and I wanted the comfort and reliability of the 4Runner. I kept my 2004 TJ for fun. I do more beach driving and common tasks with the TJ. It is nice to have the doors and top off the TJ when heading to the Gulf of Mexico, blasting Johnny Cash, with gear on hand.

285’s I removed the mud flaps, moved the front plastic wheel well forward a few inches at the bottom, and installed adjustable UCA’s to be able to adjust Caster with the bigger tires/3inch lift. Get the Off-Road and don’t look back. I use the rear locker a lot, the crawl control not much. The extra money you pay for the Off-Road you will get back when you trade or sell it.

Thanks! I am a lucky guy!!! 😂 Erin has a Challenger Hellcat so I can say with certainty the 4Runner is not very fast. Other than that I can say I’ve never had more fun in a single vehicle. If you use it as intended it will get to to places that will absolutely blow your mind. The best part is it’s a great daily driver. Perfect size and we use it to haul cars/Jet Skis. Really a perfect all around vehicle. Don’t get me wrong the challenger is a fun car but if I had to choose I’d take the 4Runner.

Sure! The only draw back to the limited is lower profile rims/tires and lower bumpers. You just have to be a little more careful.

105k miles Since new: rear main seal(3x), front diff seal, transfer case rear seal, OME shocks(2x), lower and upper control arm bushings(2x), starter, and battery. Mud/water are super hard on components.

Mine shuts off when I do water crossings or deep puddles. Other than that works good. Check and see if the compressor engages.

Don’t worry I have no plans on selling it. Just turned 175k and no signs of giving up.😂 Did 1,000 mile trip this weekend hauling a 6,000 lb trailer.

Mike Wright Yea they have taken a hit or two! 😂They are even better at stopping Door dings! I can’t tell you how many times they have saved the truck from parking lot idiots throwing their doors open. Last week my wife was just sitting in the truck and some old lady open her door so hard and hit the slider my wife said the whole truck moved! It took the coating off the slider she hit it so hard.
