I just got a torx bit labeled "TXC 25" from a hardware store clearance bin, but it looks like a regular torx bit. Your video came up when I searched for that.

Can you advise how 5 or 6 pointer Torx or Torx plus are differentiated in nomenclature also how secure torx/ Torx plus is identified and how it's specs equated to mm like I need a Torx plus 6 pointer secure driver to loosen a screw in my toaster whose slots in head are 4mm

Informative, but I stil don't know the difference between T and TX, which is why I watched this video.

Hey! That's a great question! The answer is at 1:03 - both acronyms "T" and "TX" refer to a regular Torx screw-drive system. Some manufacturers use only T while others TX. For example, WERA uses TX while Wiha uses T but they refer to the same size. Have a great day!

Is T and TX now the same thing? You mention them together but no mention of any difference.

Good day Sir! Yes, T and TX refer to the same bit size within the Torx® system. On our offer we use TX as the preferred naming. Some manufacturers may also use the term TX to indicate that their Torx® bits have a slightly different profile than the standard Torx® profile. However, this is not always the case, and the vast majority of TX bits are identical to T bits. We hope it answers your question :D

you mentioned they improved on the TORX BITS take the T45 torx for an example there calling it the IP45 ( torx-Plus ) . MY QUESTION IS::: when they improved and came out with the IP plus torx system are they interchangeable ? can IP45 be used on the T45 screw head and vice versa? or are the IP45 screws it's different different enough from the older T45.? I'm trying to figure out if I need to buy a set of IP45sn & T45 as well as the security T45 and do you know if they make a security IP45? this shit's for the birds. LOL thank you for your time

Good day eabster :) Basically, we can look at it as regular Torx and Torx plus. It is NOT ADVISABLE at all to use the regular Torx with the Torx plus (but it will fit). Then, for both versions, you have the security pin. So: 1 - Torx Regular (T) 2 - Torx Regular Security 3 - Torx Plus (IP) 4 - Torx Plus Security If you find yourself thinking about getting yourself new tools, too many times... you know the right answer :P Have a wonderful day!

@@TME.ElectronicComponents How about the other way around? Can you put a Torx Plus BIT into a Torx Regular SCREW? I would think not because of the enlarged edges.
@TME.ElectronicComponents
@TME.ElectronicComponents 3 года назад
@@stewartxp2400 You are completely right. you cannot fit Torx plus driver into a standard Torx screw. However, you can fit a regular Torx bit into Torx plus screw but you won't be able to tighten it all the way because of the loose fit.

@@stewartxp2400 A normal torx bit can easily strip out a torx plus. I would just buy the two different sets if you are planning on doing anything with them. I just stripped out what I think are torx plus screws on an expensive knife because some dumdum decided they wanted to throw both torx, and torx plus on it...
