@@simo_p8933 In this case i mean the recording engineer which is the guy that records the vocals and plays the beat. In high-end productions there likely will be extra mixing engineers and also mastering engineers.
He’s just doing punch ins or beat stops. And if you’re doing your job as an engineer you’ll hear the fuck ups along with the artist as well and be able to work efficiently. I’m an 8 year engineer. But it all works like what he said in the beginning. You gotta do stuff in the moment in music you can’t give yourself too much time to think on it and doing that means to work on the fly.
I engineered for 10 years with tappers and you’re right from the outside it looks like wtf but with each rapper you get to know their cues.. I had one rapper that would just said “runnit” which meant re-do and when he said “him” that meant keep that take gimme another. He’s probably been working with him awhile and knows all his verbal cues

Some of your favorite artist take weeks to make one song even when someone else wrote it for them but Tory knocks these out in minutes off the top of his head. I don’t see how any of your favorite artists don’t get shook seeing Tory’s ability to freestyle these hits so effortlessly and the rate at which he can crank them out like a machine.

Bruh this has been the standard or rap since like 2002 … when a lot of the DAW’s went digital. Also no artist takes weeks to make 1 song. It make take weeks to perfect a song … because songs go through many mixes before release. (Including your dear Tory) I can assure you if this song is decided to be released as a Major single or promotional single it’ll be re-recorded again. This is just the process of recording. As an engineer for 15 years I been through many of sessions with the same recording styles. Punching in and punching out has been done for 2 decades now

Kanye recorded most of his vocals off Jesus is king with an iPhone bro.. I don’t know any artist that can punch in rap and sing at this level , mention any one you know with footage .. not even jay z .. and also ppl take weeks if not months to make just a song .. the process is very different for every artist ..

You generally continuously work with your engineer to build that chemistry. I worked with Gucci off and on 7 years as an engineer .. and a few others … but also in my 15 years as an engineer you have those that give instant Chemistry… we are the type that knows pro tools like the back of our hands and many workstations. So we go into any studio with any artist and it’s instant magic
