Cool video of J.Cole making beat on his tour bus. Video taken from HBO's J.Cole-Road To Homecoming episode 2. I don't own this video. Thank you and enjoy!
@@riccoguzman2181 I just wake up from a trance and be like wtf kinda position im in. Neck bent 45 degrees and somehow it's the most comfortable position.
The effortlessness of Ron playing those key and creating a masterpiece on something he just heard for the first time like 2min ago still boggles my mind
I love how he has a piano guy on his crew, I know Cole would know his piano abit but he seeks the best just to add their flair to the work, I and I think alot of people need to learn to ask for help and/or just to add on instead of trying to do everything alone
That beat is actually legendary…dk why he didn’t make a song to this. I guess he has so many songs in his vault, this would be forgotten when he left the bus 😂
I remember stumbling on this video a week into make beats about 4 years ago, being that I became obsessed with production immediately and my RU-vid feed soon was dominated by beat making stuff. I remember the effect this video had on me and how much it inspired me and it will always have a such special place in my heart. If your a new producer, really study what this man is doing, because 4 years later I’m still using these techniques.
Takeaway: music is a team sport. Sure, Coles beat was fire but when bro sat down and laid the keys it took it to the next stratosphere. Such a beautiful thing
From a tour bus remember that man, don’t limit your art that shit can be done anywhere with anything. Some cans and a bucket, a knuckle and pen it doesn’t matter as long as your living and enjoying what you do.
i had a band and we got to the point where we had a driver, manager and a small tour bus for ourselves with speakers and plug sockets and seats that all faced in... nobody ever wanted to work for the whole tour every tour. it was so frustrating. people get lazy
@@m.o.n.d.e.g.r.e.e.n everybody has a different level of success they want or are willing to obtain. Once they reach it, they get complacent. If you're a musician or music artist its up to you to make sure you surround yourself with people that MATCH your level of ambition. Shit that goes for anything in life tbh not just music.
as a producer its really great to have a session player thats well trained to really be able to get some beautiful next level melodys that can help you get out what you really wanna lay
Listened to the entire thing, JUST to hear this beat and those keys by Ron Gilmore.... Nowhere to be found....... Tsk tsk. It's a shame, because it was so beautiful.
You can see the resignation in cole’s soul after the piano starts playing, like he’s done his part and his dude can take it from there. This is how one should feel about music. One love
I first saw this on Facebook sooo many years ago now. Can’t believe I’m seeing this again. I’ve always wanted to hear the completed song, but I’m satisfied
All creatives live for moments like this. One of the most exhilarating feelings is playing with a concept for hours and then stumbling across that “🔥wooooo🔥” moment. No matter your chosen field, the feeling is still the same. Shout out to all the freethinkers ✊🏽
@Angelo King if that’s true then there wouldn’t be a market for shoes now would there. Shoe designers or just the fashion industry in general are one of the most popular creative fields. Get off it mate.
@@miket2913 are you stupid? I'm not saying music is the only form of art and therefore there is no market for any other form of art. I'm just saying people that design shoes are unknown. The artists that make music are very known.
I guarantee J. Cole has got dozens of beats like this, especially if he's just fxcking around on his tour bus. My guess is we probably won't hear this.
I discovered this brilliant video in 2017 and it was one of the first few firestarters for me to get my head in the right direction and put more time and energy into my music. I'm a Hindi rap artist and though, the scene hasn't took off as much as elsewhere here in India, I still feel like I'm behind. But whenever that insecurity starts to eat me up, I find myself coming back here to Jermaine cooking up another masterpiece. He's legitimately one of the proper goats and if I meet him one day, I'ma thank him for inspiring persistence into me, which tbh is one of the most important things to take with on the journey to greatness (to all my family out there just starting out).
He literally has a full studio on his bus, that is crazy, if u look behind him he has those big ass studio grade speakers/monitors and there is what I'm guessing is a 16 track mixing console. This man could make a whole song just from his bus lol
KAMIKAZE MANIAC ofc it is, 50 years ago it wouldn’t be possible to have a black president. Look now we’ve had a black president for 8 years and we miss him so bad. So if that’s possible isn’t everything possible?
Look at how little them Yamaha speakers look next to the big boy Genelecs, this man really had it set up in that bus. I haven't ever seen a tour bus studio this sophisticated my guy had a whole mixing desk too DAMN
Hey I've done a bit of research on this and because of that I think what I'm about to say is pretty stupid seeing the keyboard but you seem to know the names of those speakers so I assumed you're knowledgeable on this type of stuff lol. Here it goes. Is J Cole using a 61 key keyboard or is it 88 keys?
1:49 face is what I think all producers can appreciate. When you’ve made that “nasty face”, you know you got a banger on your hands. Also when Ron jumped on the keys 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Once he played that piano, i just felt like crying...its too beautiful.. i have no idea how many time i replayed the last 30 seconds but i dont want it to stop.
I literally wept. The piano melody evoked and pulled all of my pain and hurt and put it center stage. And I couldn't help but cry. And at the exact same time it laid all of the pain to rest. I feel the exact same way that you do... I just want to listen to the last 30 seconds on repeat. It's beautiful and bittersweet. Music is so powerful. It's pitiful that this wasnt made into an entire song.
@YO YI. Lol. Look man. I was just giving everybody on this video my VERY real reaction to the music. I can appreciate what you were saying. But you know.... Sometimes in life.... Things aren't as simple as just, "chill". Sometimes people, events, tragedies give you a higher understanding of things.... Makes life a little more complex. And I just had one of those moments where I didn't just listen to the music.... I didn't just hear it or understand it.... I FELT it. That's all. But please forgive me for sharing a piece of my soul. (Or maybe you should try to reconnect/ stay in touch with yours.) But anyway. Have a beautiful life. : )
He probably cant clear that Stevie Wonder sample. And they uses it on some corny song by coleborate-produced by j.cole. wld have preferred to hear J.Cole himself on this.
Ot might make it either on the next album, a single, or one of his artist albums with Cole as a feature, but I’m with y’all tho. I was looking for on For your eyes only
Cole gave this beat to a rapper named Caleborate. He turned it into a song called “Produced by Cole” check him out he has other good songs too. He shouts out Cole in song for the beat too.
It’s as if as soon as Cole heard the keys added on. He felt as if it was complete and he could finally relax. It sounded as if he said “Finally” or “Fire”
This nigga needa hop in the studio. the last time we heard him on ANYTHING was end of 2015 on ROTD II, even then he only had like three songs on there. Can we at least get him a feature on some other people's stuff or something? Jesus lmao.
I’ve watched this so many times and always thought “Feel the pain” at 00:31 was a vox sample Cole was using. I just realized something else was playing in the bus and it was nothing short of divine timing. If he ever gets this sample cleared and releases it he needs to use that soundbyte 🔥
The passion this man has for the craft is so inspiring. That feeling when you're just exploring all the possibilities. I love how he said "That's what we were waiting for." Because he knew it was only a matter of time before he got a hit! 😂 Legend.
1:55 _Idk what it is, but I could see it in J. Cole's eyes, and when he said "Fire", I instantly knew, this guy is one of the best artists of our time. Not only does he make a majority of his own beats, he raps on them, he produces them. Not many artists nowadays have the talent J. Cole has._
@1tHraxTV I saw it too. He was listening to feel what Ron was playing. He was anticipating it and, as SOON as he felt it he looked up and you could see his face relax. I think it is amazing to know that the both of us aren't the only ones who recognized and saw that. And I don't know where it came from in Ron, but literally, his melody pulled all of my pain out of hiding. And made me weep. This was beautiful to watch. They both are truly artists.
Them 808s go hard. These studio moments inspire me to grind harder in my beat making process. Thank you J.Cole for a rare glimpse into your music creating process.
