In this production of Puccini's Tosca for the National Norwegian opera & Ballet, director Calixto Bieito re-imagined the role of the shepherd boy as "Eduardo", son of the villain Scarpia.

What a truly wonderful career you have had...and are having! A great voice, wonderful interpretation excellent acting ability...and the oppotunity to sing with a dazzling opera company! This is a remarkable interpretation of Tosca!!!!

As a chorister (tenor) in an unpretentious choir of Les Sables d'Olonne,Vendée(Fr), I agree with you: the best part is the rehearsals, specially the last ones with all the orchestra and/or costumes.

The final of the first act is beginning at about minute 51. For me as a fan of Puccini´s opera: Very strange (disconcertingly !) the scenes with the naked woman on the stage and that in front of the children......

I am not sure I would have like this production, that said it's the voice that matters and the voice is perfect, possibly the best I have heard doing this aria, good luck with the voyage to baritone would have loved it to be tenor :). but that is a minor point.

@T.B.S- Do not rush the young man, as he is in very delicate developmental stages. Perhaps, he evolves into alto, contralto first, before the deepening sets in. Baritone reserved for very later stages. Aside to Aksel: It must be great sport to see and experience first hand these undergoing voice changes. We love you, Aksel!

Aksel's singing and acting are brilliant. It is the production I hate. I just don't think "Toscs" needs the extra symbolism and gore.

Judging from the clips I have seen the producers of this horrible version of Tosca did not deserve to have a lad of Aksel's ability to sing this. Note the way he uses his voice to give expression to the words & music. Aksel made 2 CD, please do not confuse with another little Johnny singing Ave Maria; these contain pieces rarely heard from a treble performed by an artist.
